It was such a funny little thing, to spy this woman with the mind of a wiped blackboard and the face of their new deity. Sad thing. There came a sick little lull in their chat of pleasantries, maye it was Mary’s fault, maybe it was hers - she couldn’t tell. It didn’t matter. “These apples are usually the very ripest, if - if that’s what you’re after.”  It was in her nature to be helpful. Zelda might’ve call it coddling, might’ve said she’d ought to leave well enough alone. Hilda’s fingers still ran over the little crate of apples that Mary Wardwell’s had momentarily stayed over. Keeping spell; something small - almost nothing at all actually - just to let the apples stay a couple days longer, fresher.  I’m horribly sorry for what I think happened to you, she might have said. If things had been different. Instead, she laughed. “I’m more of a lemon woman myself, of course. But nothing wrong with a delicious apple every now and again, right?”

this big cat-astrophe  ( @itsnotpatsy​ )   asked for a starter ! 

“I brought -”   the matronly witch begins, but her voice is muted like violen strings held in a tight fist. No sound but a coarse little whisper tumbles out. She takes a sharp little inhale, her knuckles tighten on the tray that holds a teapot, and two small old cups, and a floral plate with some misshapen but freshly baked cookies. Leaning more into the opened door, to hide herself in her uncertainty, she said again - more brightly, to encourage herself as much as the other: “I brought you some tea. If you’d - still drink that sort thing.”

i just want to say that for as much as we all mess around & have fun, i am very serious when i say that as an older person interacting on here with a younger person, you DO have a duty to not traumatize them. and that’s a fucking immutable. you have a duty not to be transphobic or homophobic, no matter your age, and to find out what that has to look like.
