Mina chuckled as she looked over at the other woman. She was pretty, that much was certain. Not as pretty as Gwen but nobody was that pretty but her. It wasn’t fair to the rest of the world. “I’m good,” she said with a chuckle. “In case it wasn’t obvious, I’ve done this before. Or well, I’ve fallen a lot in my life. Don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.” 

“If you were able to finesse a move like that, then I guess it’s a good thing?” Aurora’s voice inflected into a question towards the end, a quiet chuckle passing afterward. “But, you should definitely be careful. I get having a phone after being here is exciting but that fall could’ve ended a lot worse.” Doctor side coming out, she sighed. “Just, uh, don’t walk while on your phone, yeah?”

Now knowing what had led the other to her strange actions, made the situation a little less strange, and fairly normal in the pirate’s eyes. “The sun hated me too, for a few years, but that had to do with moving from Siberia to an open sea,” she chuckled and nodded, knowing the sun often played an odd role in sneezing. 

“Pretty fresh, I order the beans weekly,” she explained, “There’s plenty if you want a cup.” Roza noted the body language given by Aurora, knowing it well as many tended to come in with headaches and even chronic migraines, “I got some Acetaminophen sent in yesterday, if your head is bugging you.” More commonly known as Tylenol or Ofirmev, it would reduce the pain and could even help reduce swelling in her nose, if that had been the cause of the clogged sneeze. 

“My mother used to joke that I was allergic to the sun. Whenever we moved to the states, I’d burn and turn into a lobster; my skin slowly got used to it, though. But the sun still makes me sneeze.” Aurora really had no idea what caused her to sneeze as soon as she stepped outside from a dark room, but she had grown accustomed to it at this point.  “You know, I should probably do that. I’m so picky with my coffee, it’s turned into a nuisance.” The brunette chuckled, teeth tugging on her lower lip. “I’m good... organizing things is way too tedious, and it always causes me to get a headache. Once I eat, I should be good as new.” The words spilled out of her mouth, one of those rehearsed lines that she has said probably one too many times in her life.

𝐑𝐨𝐳𝐚.

Roz made up a fresh batch of coffee, three more hours of her overnight shift and she’d be able to go home and cuddle up with Sephie, get some much needed sleep, and later go for a refreshing swim, or simply relax in her villa. Her eye caught the curious actions of the doctor who’d come in to view. The brunette’s brow raised as the other spoke to herself, almost encouraging herself to do something? 

As her eyes met with the other woman’s Roz offered up a grin, still confused but not one to really judge someone else for their odd behavior. “Just making coffee,” she stated and showed the coffee pot behind her. “What about you?”

Offering her colleague, would you call it, a soft smile Aurora’s arms comfortable crossed over her chest. “Trying to sneeze... sometimes I think the sun hates me.” The brunette attempted to joke, knowing that it’d probably fall flat. Organizing things at the infirmary had never been her favorite thing, but that was all she had done today, and she could feel the headache setting in.  “How's the coffee?” She inquires, trying to at least make some small talk as her hands came to rub at her face, trying to fight off said headache.

𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐜.

Alec had always had something of a difficult time keeping himself still— there was a restlessness in him that seemed to require movement every second of the day he found himself capable of mustering it, and though having a regular job to tend to often helped him manage that restlessness he had little else to do when work was through and had found himself lingering in front of the infirmary after having delivered new stock for the day and wondering whether or not it would be inappropriate to light a cigarette in front of such a place. He caught sight of Aurora quickly and watched her with a growing expression of amusement when she caught his gaze and he offered her a jaunty little wave before he lit the cigarette dangling between his lips and made a mental note to ask Katla whether it bothered her that he smoked as much as he did. “Not really,” He replied airily before he took a slow drag, “You doin’ alright there, Ror? You look like you’re about to have a fit or something. Need me to go fetch one of the other docs?”

At the sight of her captain, Aurora relaxes a bit. “I’m fine.” Eyes rolled at his remark with a small smile quirking up at her lips. Honey hues ultimately landed on the cigarette, her head shaking. “Don’t come to me crying, though, when you wake up at one in the morning from a coughing fit. Smoking’s terrible for you.” Aurora had given Alec this exact speech a number of times, the brunette having seen the effects that smoking can have on a person.  Aurora slowly slipped back into her normal appearance, an eyebrow raised at Alec. “How’s life been treating you?” She realized she hadn’t really talked to her captain as much as she should, and she figured now would be a hell of a time to change that.

Walking out of the infirmary, Aurora felt that all too familiar feeling of a sneeze brewing. Letting out a muffled curse, she pushed her sunglasses - which she had just put on - up, letting them sit upon her head as she looked up at the sun. “Come on,” The brunette mumbled, eyebrows furrowing together.  The sneeze wasn’t going to come, and that caused Aurora to let out a huff, turning on her heels to head back into the direction where she was originally going, well, until her eyes met with another. Face falling into her normal stoic expression, Aurora cleared her throat.  “Hi, can I help you?” Was this her attempt to hide the embarrassment that was swirling deep in her stomach? Absolutely, and all Aurora could do was hope they didn’t catch on.

Aurora was a people watcher, some would call it. She would observe other people, watch how they carried themselves, and would truly be able to tell a lot about the person before she even had her first interaction with them.  This was one of the instances where she had found herself just watching, and God was she glad she had been. It took all of her self control to stifle the laugh that threatened to pour out as the red-head tripped, Aurora quickly composing herself. “You good..?” She questioned with a raise of her eyebrows.

Mina was enjoying this new way of life on the island. Having a phone was something she hadn’t expected, even if it did only text other people on the island. It was better than nothing. She was walking along the pathway, already texting on her phone. With her face in her screen, she missed the uneven surface of the walkway. She felt the trip happen about a second before she would land on her face. In a clearly practiced move, she managed to turn and look like she was sitting. “Hell yes,” she said softly. “And the phone is still okay. I’ve still got it.”

Dark sunglasses covered honey hues as she made her way across the island, trying to find ways to pass time. Aurora had been having one of those days. You know, the ones where when it came to even thinking about being productive made not do anything at all. So, as an attempt to bring back some motivation to maybe clean her villa, or head over to the infirmary and just do a supply check for the hell of it, Aurora had decided that maybe a walk would do her some good. Gaze being drawn over to Gabe as he spoke, she walked up to the male.  “Gotta say no to the cigarette, but what has you staring off into the ocean like it has all of life's answers?” The brunette inquired, knowing that she had found herself doing the same thing plenty of times.

Perching himself up in a cabana - he glanced out over towards the ocean as he lit a cigar. Allowing the soothing sounds of the crashing waves take him to a more relaxed state. There was nothing wrong, in fact, everything seemed to be…perfect. Most of Aurora’s early childhood is blurry, and if you were to ask her what her earliest memory is, it would be moving to the United States with her mom and dad. She doesn’t remember why her family moved, and both of her parents have refused to tell her. It’s one of the main things that will keep her up until 2 am staring at the ceiling.

Her childhood after moving, though, was one spent with friends and family. Aurora wasn’t popular, by any means, but she was well known throughout her small suburb. She had enough friends to make it by, and her personality at the time was one of her main assets.

You see, before Aurora hit high school, she was a sweet, understanding girl; some would even go as far to say that she was extremely gullible and naive. But, all of that changed as soon as she entered high school.

Maybe it was that turning point of somewhat becoming an adult, or it was the fear that life was creeping up on her... fast. But, Aurora changed. She became more blunt, would do things that benefited her the most. It was way different than how she acted when she first moved to the United States, but if she lost friends, she just made more.

Aurora was able to adapt her personality around others... sort of like a chameleon. If they were preppy and stuck up, she would be as well. If they were laid back and didn’t really care much, she’d be the exact same way. 

Fast forward to the end of her senior year, Aurora graduated in the top ten of her class. This gave her the opportunity to take up any scholarship that she really wanted that had been offered to her, and she did just that. 

Aurora spent the next twelve years working to become a licensed surgeon, and lord behold, she did it. With the eight years of school, and four years of residency, she managed to become a wholeass surgeon.

But... shortly after that she found herself getting bored. Aurora is one of those people who can’t really stay in one place for too long, yet she had been doing this doctor gig for twelve years. 

I don’t know how, but shortly after that she found herself becoming a surgeon on The Blue Moon and the rest is history! (someone please plot how she joined The Blue Moon with me!)
