I have been an admirer of the terrific inventor Nikola Tesla. That should come to no surprise to anyone who has read a few of my previous novels.   This is a man whose genius was way beyond the minds of the day.   He had a wisdom that occasionally appeared unearthly. I guess this is why some have speculated that such a person could not have sprung in the bosom of mother Earth, but was the product of extraterrestrial intervention.

I have to admit that for some time the idea that Nikola Tesla wasn’t of the world held a particular appeal.   Of course it would also produce more questions which would be impossible to reply in my life — although it would certainly answer a great deal of questions relating to this enigmatic man. So I was eventually left with the simplest explanation on Nikola Tesla’s origins. I’ve concluded that he was an  extraordinary individual the likes we so seldom see.

My primary schooling was bereft of any schooling of his achievements or Tesla. His name, in its absence, spoke of dark conspiracies and thievery.   Few know of this person for whom it is christened, although in general the Tesla-coil stands outside in honor of its namesake.           Textbooks held no place involving its webpages for this man, and his name was seldom uttered by educators.   Happily, some have begun to recognize the great injustice that’s been completed to Tesla and have found a spot to educate his history.   I believe it will be safe to say that Nikola Tesla was the man who devised the 20th Century.

However, a mystery remains.

A mystery that’s been diabolical in its treachery not just as a whole.

We know that the United State Patent Office awarded patents .   All these were inventions that Tesla and his shareholders watched as rewarding — the AC engine is an Outstanding illustration of just one of Tesla’s inventions that changed the entire world.       But, Tesla invented.   Tesla had a keen sense of what could exude interest, but he also worked on and developed technology which was for his own curiosity. In my own years as a military intelligence operative I came into contact with several top-secret programs which were either exploring, or, shockingly enough,   actively utilizing technology based on a number of Tesla’s “wild” ideas.   Both the United States and Russia have active Particle Beam and RF (radio frequency) weaponry that’s been in operation since the early 1970’s — all as a consequence of Tesla’s early 19th and 20th Century experiments.

To say there are other budget projects involving Tesla-based analysis could underestimate the total quantity of research and development has been conducted now by many countries worldwide.   And these are the jobs that we know about.   Who knows how many heavy secret jobs are being conducted with mathematics which may be even tens of thousands of years beyond today, what science knows, years.

Color Shifting Flowers Science Experiment

I just love this colour changing flowers science experiment! It is simple to do and the kids love seeing the flowers change colour. We think it’s the perfect science action for spring!

I made recording sheets that kids in preschool and early elementary may use to reveal their observations. Don’t forget to scroll to receive them.

We love this one and a fantastic science experiment didn’t disappoint. It was really neat to see the flowers change colors. You should definitely give this one a go if you are interested in finding a science action to try this spring!

Supplies Needed:

Free printable recording sheets (button to get at the bottom of the article)

White carnations

Liquid food coloring in an Assortment of colors

Directions:

To start you will want to trim down the stems of the flower so they match your glasses or cups.

Add water to every cup.

Then place about 10-15 drops of food coloring in the water and stir around a bit.

Insert at least one carnation to every glass of colored water.

Check about the blossoms every couple of hours and watch any changes.

Observing the Flowers Change Color

We did so colour changing flower experiment and we began to see changes within a couple of hours. Some of the blossoms started showing faint stripes of colour along their petals.

By the next morning, the majority of these were more colorful. The blossom in the purple water did not appear to be carrying in water so I trimmed the stem a little more and it soon began showing color.

The colour was even more vibrant, this day.

We chose to see the flowers. They did receive a bit brighter than the pics over, but never saturated in the color.

The next time we intend to attempt if we get more saturated colors food coloring to determine. We also determined that roses will try and determine if a person takes on the colour better.

There are a number of ways. You can try doing different blossoms simultaneously. Or you can try various amounts of food coloring.

How Do Plants Drink Water?

Water is drunk by plants from the ground up through their roots. The water travels up the stem and into the petals of the blossom. Though, our blossoms didn’t possess roots anymore they were still able to pull up water from the cup up and into the stem through the blossom to the petals.

It is via capillary action that crops are able to resist gravity and pull up water and into blossoms and their leaves.

ESP8266 Mesh Experiment

In case anyone else (such as me) was sitting on the shelf within this particular one — and might like to have a go with an ESP8266 mesh… we’ve been having a play.

Regular readers may recall I wasted the better part of a year using those AWFUL NRG24L01 boards becoming no-where and finally hoping to generate a mesh — really I think it’s the mere presence.

Fast forward to December 2017 – take 3 ESP8266 modules, run the identical code on each of the three, attach a LED+resistor to GPIO12… choose ESP8266 modules for a walk. One is in the office out of scope, the other in the midst sitting in my car in the freezing cold.     After all 3 are speaking to each other you’ll notice 3 flashes in rapid succession…

That’s it no setup. . You can see the output of a few of these on the serial port and find out how many are speaking (if your eyes are quickly enough) to a LED.

To test this as suggested previously, we abandoned one unit at my workplace (protected from the home by a small stone construction) and place one unit at the home.   The one from the home saw nothing.   We included one to a battery between, sitting on my vehicle –  therefore it could visit the workplace and the home by line of site.    Bingo, the home unit saw all three .   That remained up for a while among the components dropped out. A reboot fixed that but It dropped out again — subsequently reconnected.

At this point I was prepared to throw in the towel ANOTHER failed mesh. So to explain it doesn’t have anything to do with your house/office WIFI and doesn’t  require access to an access point or router. No installation is required. Units can broadcast to everyone in the mesh when we’ve cracked it can talk to apparatus which talk or as you will see at some stage.

As you can see here “piggy in the middle” was speaking to the others.

Well, that is the idea but obviously it didn’t work reliably.

After some time we became a little despondent this was showing indications of becoming undependable — I sent a message to the ISSUES department for the repository but noticed that someone had beaten me to it 3 weeks ago and never heard anything back. Remember this code had not been modified in annually.

Same codebase but altered recently.   We hooked that the sole immediate difference and up to all 3 planks was that the LED being predicated as against earth based.   With three components connected using this code that is new, the flashes were a tad too close together so I set my OWON scope on scan to see them. To date (hours later) with a single unit at the home, one sitting freezing to death in my vehicle and the next in my office, we’ve never missed a beat.

Debugging on this particular one is more complicated and shows memory usage.

I’m keeping a watch out for this RAM — which began in 32720 free and currently hovers between 33904 along with 31766… i.e. RAM usage looks just fine.

A great deal of things in the picture above but no real errors that I can see. I do see three different node numbers (automatic, from MAC address). From the code you can select how much should any debugging you see. This looks a little more complex than the code but the majority of it I guess not and we can assume works worry about it.

So here is the strategy

Once we are happy that this is functioning — the strategy is to give each and every meaningful name… to then take ONE of these ESP8266s and have it talk to a normal ESP8266 via sequential or similar across the lines of packages like  topic:”who to”, payload:”the payload”

i.e.. An ESP8266 would use software that is normal to talk to MQTT and relay that message. The unit doing the link would subsequently BROADCAST to all (simplest, I know you could do it another way) in which the issue is the “name” of this unit. Each would compare, do what it’s supposed to perform using the payload and send a message back up — ie broadcast…. Oh… subject:”who from/reply”,payload:” answer payload” which would be picked up from the unit connected to the external community — and shipped back to return to MQTT.

Okay this would be great for high speed connectivity however I’m guessing would be fine for turning things on and off.

This gets around a problem where WIFI isn’t functional except for a single unit permitted in scope through a single unit or a firewall — the remainder of the MESH want be no-where near WIFI access.

That’s where we are like I talk the scope is reporting, despite the poor piggy-in-the-middle unit+battery out freezing to death at –6c, groups of 3 relations constantly — and RAM is fine.

Introducing ‘The Holly Kane Experiment’ –

As most of my readers know I’m a significant film buff. Not big on the entire superhero motion or even the cult horror flicks, but what really captures my attention is really really a psychological thriller that is excellent old. I was lucky enough to be allowed an exclusive preview of new film ‘The Holly Kane Experiment’ — a psychological thriller exploring the darker side of relationships and also the alarming influence of strong men.

Penned Mick from duo and Tom Sands, the film centers around Holly Kane, a 29-year-old psychologist experimenting to tame her unconscious thoughts. Holly is experimentation with drug-fuelled ‘subliminal programming’ when two very different guys come in to her life.

Primarily the cryptic Dennis MacIntyre played a nervous however spontaneous individual who upon a chance meeting at a local cafe plucks up the courage to ask Holly to supper, with James Rose. At first sight Dennis looks like a reason for concern, he does not look to be a natural match for its Holly and comes across a bit shaky and vulnerable. As it happens, Dennis proves to become something of a saving grace for Holly and never gives up even.

The connection comes from the kind of 73 year old Marvin Greenslade, an psychologist gave my attention on relationships and played with Nicky Henson.

Whichever way I have no doubt you will reach an extremely favorable outcome. In which the film becomes upsetting this previous relationship is for me. Why? The connotations to Hollywood scandal is actually striking.

Over the last few months picture fans have looked on in terror as some of the largest and most respected names in the business have been outed to get a series of truly black and prolonged abuses of power, even with many more allegations appearing in the world’s press on an almost weekly basis. This course is where the nature of Marvin Greenslade finds the ultimate significance.

Whilst watching the position of Holly in the palms of Greenslade you can not help but think of the two Hollywood’s abused and abusers. The mental and physical distress of the abused, the fear and anguish, not to mention the unsettling thought activities and processes of these abusers. Just like The Holly Kane Experiment, you find even the manipulator, that should in reality be questioning theirs , or even the sufferers when it’s the abuser questioning their sanity.

Portraying Holly’s trauma in the hands of a manipulative man has been to Director Tom of particular importance, having noticed an actor, his girlfriend, had been medicated in years. He said: “My girlfriend is a celebrity and she’s told me about many situations she’s been requested to place herself where are entirely inappropriate. Unfortunately many manufacturers believe they can make the most of their position of power”

That is where we realise the entire extent of the harrowing scenarios many actresses (and actors) have found themselves. When someone with a reputation expects, or even chooses, something from you, how do you say no? When nobody knows your name and the entire world knows theirs how do you make accusations? After their misuse occurred, you can imagine the extent of the torment they’ve had to hide 35, lots of Hollywood’s sufferers have managed to tell their story many years

It is given these news stories we find empathy for Holly. Greenslade is not prestigious in his profession, but he had been. In a variety of ways, you could say he was her Hollywood Producer.

Obviously misuse of power and manipulation is not just a movie theme or even a Hollywood issue, it’s very prevalent in ordinary. Kinds of manipulation can be regarded as a kind of abuse, an issue most people are all too familiar with. Back in 2017 alone over 1.9 million complaints of domestic abuse were produced in the united kingdom alone, with over 92 percent of those defendants being male. This naturally does not take away from male victims’ adventuresit is tough to ignore the gap. Power struggles are unbelievably common in connection, but it’s stressing what can occur when the struggle shifts too far.

Lady Kirtsy Averton who performs the title character also weighs in on the issue through her analysis of this personality: “Holly fears losing hands. It has formed her life and formed. It is this fear that compels her whilst allowing her to be exploited at the way. Although it’s through these experiences of manipulation and trauma which she’s finally able to face these fears. The film illustrates the horror of how a lady’s vulnerability could be manipulated by a man in a place of power”

It is much to Mick and Tom Sands’ credit that they manage to examine issues with sensitivity that is excellentwhilst a gripping, psychological thriller plays outside in front of us. A film that arouses not only empathy for the fictional characters on-screen, but empathy for the victims off-screen that is exact real too.

As the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) contrasts collectively protons at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, it makes a rich assortment of particles that are identified via the touch of the interactions with the ATLAS detector. However, what if there are particles being produced that travel through ATLAS without interacting? All these “invisible particles” may offer the answers to a number of the greatest puzzles in physics.

1 instance is Black Matter, that seems to make up 85% of mass in the Universe but has not been identified yet. We heard of its presence via astrophysical observations, including galaxy formation and gravitational lensing. However, we know more about what it isn’t than what it is. There’s no single concept of Dark Matter; different forecasts have different implications for its properties and how it interacts.

The imperceptible particles produced in LHC collisions carry energy away, leading to an apparent imbalance at the energy/momenta of these observed visible particles. Various theories predict that, if the imperceptible particles exist, even more events with large imbalance along with other distinctive patterns of observable particles could be detected by ATLAS. Assessing the number of these occasions predicted by idea of the number of events found in the detector is a means of searching for invisible particles.

While shown for a successful approach, there are limits. Imagine if all of our theoretical versions of Black Matter are wrong? Imagine if an entirely different phenomenon is that the reason behind invisible particles? Presently, if theoretical models are shown to be incorrect, it can be tough and time-consuming to re-use the data to test new versions. To do so requires an comprehension of how these particles have been recorded from the sensors, how the events have been chosen, and how the normal Model processes that mimic these particle routines were modelled.

ATLAS physicists have developed a new measurement-led approach, which was made to be detector-independent and permits for effortless re-interpretation of their data in future.

ATLAS physicists have developed a new measurement-led approach, which was made to be detector-independent and permits for effortless re-interpretation of their data in future. Within this process, a number Rmiss is described that is sensitive to the manufacturing speed and attributes of any imperceptible particle(s). This quantity is measured versus different properties of the collision events, including the amount of momentum imbalance and the energy/momenta of these observable particles. Not simply the value of this quantity, but how it affects with these properties that are measured is found to provide sensitivity to undetectable particles. Known decays of Z bosons —  produced in LHC crashes  —  into invisible neutrinos imply this quantity is non-zero even in the lack of a new invisible phenomenon. This quantity is closely adjusted for detector inefficiencies, leaving a measurement free from experimental prejudice and independent of any fresh physics hypothesis (Figure 1). Any physicist can then compare the predictions of the model against this dimension.

To demonstrate the new approach, the measurement is used to examine three distinctly different theoretical versions of Black Matter, in which it is created either (1) via the powerful force, (2) via the decays of Higgs bosons, or (3) via the electroweak force. No signs of Dark Matter is observed and so ATLAS can place stringent constraints on such theories (Figure 2). The limitations are competitive with existing methods that aim to examine these particular theories and complementary to measurements in space-based indirect detection experiments.

So, no matter what mysteries lie in the “imperceptible” kingdom, ATLAS gets the techniques that it needs — both today and in the long run — to continue to find out more about the Universe.
