AN INTIMATE PASSIONATE RELATIONSHIP
Just an insight! A child is conceived after two people, man and a woman have had an intimate passionate relationship. There is a lot of cooperation here. Sex requires privacy for it to be enjoyable. It is not for the market place, or roadside show or for striping purposes.

A Piece of Wisdom
My late uncle Mr. Muthui wa Kariuki taught me a piece of wisdom. It was something like this. In order for a man to bond with his child, his brother’s child or children in the neighborhood, he has to proof himself. There has to be something tangible. Give something to the child to start creating/cementing the relationship. Usually, it is something to eat, a toy or something relevant to the child. This is the way my uncle put it- “Ritwa ria baba nikugurwo riguraguo” Literally, for the child to call you dad, or uncle you have to “buy” it. You have to bend, or kneel to be at the same level to the child. It is costly but worthwhile.

CHALLENGES FOR A YOUNG PARENT
There is a Swahili saying that says: “Kuzaa mtoto sio kazi, kulea ndio mzigo”. This means, it is one thing to birth a child but to bring up that child is what matters.
A mother is forever naturally and biologically attached to her child. She has an advantage over the biological father. The biological father has to make deliberate efforts to bond with his child otherwise he will be a stranger forever to the child. The mother is lucky because this bonding takes place from the moment of conception, the whole period of pregnancy and possibly to the next ten years after birth. This is a plus on the mother’s side. But if she abandons the infant for a couple of years, she has to start from zero to bond with her child. Sociological studies have documented this.

"According to our culture when an elderly man slipped and fell a goat had to be slaughtered. All this demonstrated that the life of human being is more precious than that of an animals. This is according to the dominion expressed by man on the whole planet and its’ creatures. God created man to be his companion and in his image. The superiority of man is due to the fact that he has body, soul and spirit while the animals have only body and soul. The plants have only the body but no soul. This is the reason animals were sacrificed for man’s sins although this practice has been brought to an end due to the fact that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world (compare this with Gerasene Demoniac story Mark 5). This does not justify killing other creatures for our pleasure as some people do. It defeats logic when people catch fish in their sporting activities and then throw them back to the water after wounding them. This reminds me of Indians of Buddhist or Hindu’s faith who never eat meat from animals; they are vegetarians and they are still very healthy."

SCIENTISTS AND GOD, AN OPINION
God knows it all (Omniscient). I believe that, if scientists were humble enough, the Almighty God would have revealed to them the secrets of the deep blue sea or whatever they are looking for. But most of the time scientists are not humble enough and pull out their hairs for a lifetime.

Cheerful Giver | Stewardship & Tithing
Money, tithing, and stewardship can be challenging topics to address with your congregation. However, this uplifting video makes it easy to share Biblical principles about giving, showing that God has a plan to bless us and others when we are faithful to follow His commands. God owns everything. When we tithe, we are simply giving back to God what is already His. When we begin to live out this truth, that’s when God works through our finances to glorify Himself. This video will make a great addition to your worship service when you are preaching on the topics of money, tithing, stewardship, or giving.

If I want other people to accept me with my idiosyncrasies or awkwardness or uniqueness, I should also accept them for what they are and give them time to grow up or change or adjust whichever comes first.
Saint Paul reminds us that, Jesus accepted us while we were still in our sinful state (Romans 5:8).
