omg hello, thank you for these!! this is a bit long to answer with a polycule of 4 people but i've had so much fun with it!

1. Who kisses the other on the nose and the one receiving the kiss blushes?

Lana is the queen of nose kisses. She usually defaults to them as a way to greet Elara in front of others, so Elara doesn't really blush about it. Theron, on the other hand, turns bright red every time and it amuses her endlessly.

Elara also tends to use nose kisses as a greeting with Doc, which typically ends up with them both blushing because he usually has some kind of spicy compliment to whisper to her at the same time.

4. Who initiates the forehead touch™?

Elara initiates it most often with everyone else. She finds it comforting and intimate to just be forehead-to-forehead with a partner for a moment, and particularly with Lana she finds it makes a good focal point to tap into their connection through the Force. Doc tends to initiate it with Theron, and between Theron and Lana it usually depends on the context. Theron will go for the forehead touch if he's stressed out and needs a quick show of affection, whereas Lana likes to stay like that for longer periods of time.

5. Where do they first say “I love you”?

Doc says it to Elara on the ship. They're flying to Voss and he's having a look at a scrape she got while on Belsavis and rambling all the while and it just slips out. He doesn't quite realize that he's just told her he loves her until she's said it back and abruptly pulled his head away from her shoulder to kiss him.

Elara says it to Theron on Yavin as the coalition is being dismantled and goodbyes are being exchanged. He answers it with a kiss she's sure she won't forget, and she leaves him with her holofrequency scrawled on flimsiplast tucked into a pocket of his jacket. She knows he already has it; it's more of a reminder that she truly wants to hear from him again.

Theron says it to Lana in the heat of an argument on Ziost, running his mouth faster than he's really processing what he's saying and fully expecting it to land as cruel even if it wasn't meant to hurt her, but it stops them both cold before she tells him she can't deal with that in the middle of this. What she wants to tell him (but doesn't get the chance until several years later) is that he is a stubborn kriffing arse, and she loves him too, but they're trying to deal with Vitiate and she can't risk the vulnerability just then.

Lana says it to Elara after they leave the bakery on Chandrila that was once owned by Elara's parents. She's trying to comfort her lover after the overwhelming experience and it's not the first time Lana has spoken the words by far but it is the first time she realizes the depth with which she means them. The next morning, she sneaks out of the hotel while Elara is still asleep and finds a jeweler to buy a ring from.

Doc says it to Theron on a lazy morning alone together in the commander's quarters on Odessen. He's thinking about how utterly surrounded by love he is and it occurs to him that he never said it to Theron on Yavin, so the next logical step is to say it now.

10. Who picks up the other fireman style in a playful way?

Elara did it to Doc to save his life once and he's never let her live it down. Every chance he gets, he tries to scoop her over his shoulders and carry her off. Lana has also done it to a slightly-too-drunk Elara or Theron once or twice, and made a point to pick Theron up fireman style during the reception at their polycule wedding. Theron spends at least one dance trying to get a chance to throw Lana over his shoulder in retaliation, but little does he know Elara has been recruited to thwart his efforts and when his attempt goes awry it turns into an accidental cuddle pile with his partners.

Newt Geiszler makes a LOT of "your mum" jokes. Specifically he makes them in the same way that my wife (@alone-on-takodana) makes them they're incredibly abstract.

Hermann complains about this endlessly. It has been the source of many of his HR complaints.

Until one day, Hermann is working away on his blackboard, and Newt is yammering away as he disects something, and Newt uses the phrase 'load bearing cartilaginous structure.'

Without turning around, Hermann mutters "Your mother's a load bearing cartilaginous structure..."

Newt just about passes out from laughing.

Tis I, your Newmann Secret Santa 2024 :D I read you enjoy the Newmann penpal days, and honestly what a great time for these two idiots, haha.

I had a peek at my socks and it sparked this fun idea to see a little slice into a time where Newton sent Hermann a pair of "Marine Biology" socks! >:) Plus a cheeky polaroid from his 3rd PhD graduation xD I mean, Newton probably would send Hermann silly socks all the time, right? xD I also thought it would be fun to do a companion piece where we see Newton receiving a gift from Hermann? But I've run out of time xP I mean, we have until the end of January xD So I could do it if I find some more time 👀 Hehe.

A bit of extra info (because you can't tell with my awful, tiny painting skills xD) Hermann is wearing this lil Mathematics pin that he probably won at a school contest and I love that xD The other one is this fun Pi pin that, let's be honest... Newton probably found in a random shop and immediately mailed it to Hermann xD
