Autotomous Womyn stand with Vancouver Women’s Library
We are appalled by the fascistic, authoritarian, misogynist and lesbian-hating actions by GAG and the so-called “Progressive Librarians Guild” in attempting to ban books from an important new women’s institution, the Vancouver Women’s Library--and in attempting to intimidate women out of accessing the space altogether. When librarians advocate banning books, the world is truly upside down. PLG are a shame to their profession.
Their “ban list” includes many powerful and transformative books, books that provide critical moments of recognition and articulations of female realities not easily come by. These works are dangerous indeed to a male supremacist status quo, and necessary reading for reSisters. We hope all of our readers will take the opportunity to seek them out particularly, and donate to support the VWL as you can.
VWL, you can expect material support from your Autotomous systers. And we’d be proud to join your collection.

Blood and Visions, the zine, was intended to be a “teaser” version of a forthcoming full-length book. We made the zine because we wanted to produce something in time for Michfest, and hadn’t originally intended on making it available outside of that context. Because of the intense level of interest, we’re keeping it going, but we still plan to create a book-length work. So this is an FYI to our detransitioned sisters/sisters who are reconciling with being female–eventually we will put out a call for submissions about the book. When we do, we hope you will consider submitting your artwork and writing. We envision many more contributors being part of the book-length work.

As detranstioned womyn, we pull no punches in naming our own experience and making political meaning of it, without apology. But we do not consent to be used as ammunition against anyone who is transitioned ftm. We are not inherently different or separate from anyone currently living that experience. And we do not condone any attempt to tear them down in our name. WoLF's post and other such framing is damaging and harmful. Anyone who cares about female human beings regardless of "gender identity" ought to get why.
Again, we say to WoLF: "Words like yours create additional layers of fear and misunderstanding between us and those individuals who currently identify as trans/ftm. If you want to support us, stop making our work harder."

WoLF has made a post (linked here) about an ftm and has used words from Blood and Visions--and the existence of detransitioned womyn--in a way that is both wrongly attributed and explicitly contrary to the work we are trying to do. The post is rife with harmful tropes that are named in the zine as things we ask feminists not to do when speaking about our experiences.
WoLF has their permissions set so that nobody can see our comments in response, except people who are already our "friends" on facebook. So we are posting screencaps here. Nothing about us without us. And if anyone is claiming to support us, they need to start by a) listening to us, b) not wrongly attributing words to us, and c) not suppressing our responses.
