This gonna be hilarious but here's the thing.

Carl is like the chief dad of dept q. He is obviously too grumpy to admit he cares about many people around him and vice versa. He probably gets a mental breakdown/burnout everyday on average. He investigates cases and comes back and get into the row with Moira or Bruce. He drinks and curses a lot. He complains when they work too late and drives Rose, Hardy and Akram home.

Akram is the quiet dad, aka the overqualified housekeeper of dept q. He steals furniture from upstairs when there's no budget. He gets a wheelchair access for Hardy. He sorts files and helps/protects Carl whenever he's verbally overcompetent or physically incompetent or both.

Hardy is the fun dad and the main legal guardian for Rose. He brings her sandwiches and coffee Donna made. He laughs at her often and encourages her more. They will work through leads together until Hardy's legs are a bit sore and Rose will say it's good because he can feel more. They will occasionally prank Carl just to see he freaks out when he gets down to the basement with Akram behind his back signing with calm.

Rose is their daughter and they love her so much just in different ways.

This scene was so good. Rose was never incompetent but seeing Carl be kind of impressed is something so rare that I think both Rose and Akram were holding their breaths

binge read it in morning office and totally worthy! Such a great fic beautifully written with delicate, nuanced and accurate emotions of characters.

Just read an amazing fic and I felt I had to share it! 

“The Ethics of Silence” by Yeetlejuice (aekee) is such a wonderful read! I cannot recommend this fic enough. The plot sucks you in and it feels like another season of the show, the character dynamics are incredible, the suspects (for being what I assume are made up characters for the fic) are well thought out and I could imagine them all in my head. The slow burn was phenomenal, I really felt the charged moments between Akram and Carl, it had my heart pumping and everything! And don’t even get me started on Jasper and Carl! Goddd the father-son dynamic there was everythingggg to meee!! And Akram and his daughters had my whole heart!! Rose and Hardy’s pov was just the right amount of a comic relief of sort, perfectly balancing Akram and Carl’s pov. They really felt like a team with how well the povs just seamlessly tied together. 

All in all, I loved this fic and I think you guys would enjoy it too.

Also a plus, this author also wrote my absolute favorite Thunderbolts fic “You Must Like Me for Me” (linking it for my fellow Thunderbolts fans if you’re seeing this)
