the commoner's guide to bedding a royal by olivieblake — god, this fic!!!! it's a modern royal au and the ensemble of characters make this whole world feel so alive. it's inspired by will/kate and harry/meghan and it's sooo cute. theo and daphne were the breakout characters and i love them dearly. if you're looking for a lighthearted romcom-esque, occasionally angsty (because duh!) fic, this is it!!! i probably read this in two days which is insane considering the word count, but that should just tell you how lovely this whole fic was. there's a second part to this if you're itching for more afterwards (and it's just as good!)

Ahh, I've been so busy with writing lately that I've actually been kinda falling behind on my reading list but here are some of my newest bookmarks that I'm really excited about!

1. Coffee Cups and Cigarettes Butts by Kirikiriwhoops Rated M - Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Bakugou Katsuki has always wanted to be a lawyer. He’s going to be the best lawyer in Japan, but first, he has to be the best law student. He’s out to prove himself, especially to the red haired idiot who called him a dick on the first day of law school.

2. In the Autumn Moonbeams by ukuleena Rated T As he hears a chair scrape, Bakugou raises his head and is determined to give whoever a death glare to ward them off.

Bakugou wonders if someone turned up the lights. The slight was blinding. Next to him now was a guy with red hair, spiked to the point where it looked like he had horns. To match, his red eyes were sparkling. His mouth upturned into a grin. His skin was pale, a blush creeping onto his nose as Bakugou began to stare him down.

“Hey man, I’m Kirishima! Nice to meet you.” Kirishima held out his hand in greeting.

With his touch, he was entranced. Something parted in his heart, maybe even the sky itself. A spark electrocuted his senses. As he tightened his grip to shake, his body slowed. Every movement was deliberate but also nervous. The smile that now decorated Kirishima’s face was lovely. He’d never seen eyes so genuine, bordering on precious.

Bakugou was in trouble.

But when Kirishima starts bringing him tea every night as he recovers from his injuries, he gradually learns how to handle his emotions and face his fears around the safest, sturdiest person he knows.

5. saturdays are getting repetitive by blurredwriter Rated T He knew sneaking out with his so called 'friends' was a shitty fucking idea. Katsuki laid on his bed- door locked and balcony glass shattered- as he repeated the same day for a third time. Let's back track this shit real quick to sneaking out again.

6. Mountains and Volcanoes by 2sides_merlinarthur Rated M Kirishima's just trying to graduate and enjoy his last year in college football before he got a new quarterback--and a new roommate-- by the name of Katsuki Bakugou. Now he's trying to juggle classes, graduation, finding a job, and a new person who he can't figure out if he likes or not, and no one knows if he can do it before he explodes, or the new person does.

7. Crazy, Stupid Love by vannahoneshots (vannahfanfics) Rated T Class 1-A decides to hold blind dates for Valentine's Day, and Eijirou gets Katsuki. The problem is that Eijirou has a raging crush on Katsuki, and he doesn't know if he can survive this blind date without letting that out. Is he going to ruin his closest friendship?

8. Kicking and Screaming by trucizna Rated T Kirishima keeps falling asleep on Bakugou. Bakugou has exactly one (1) feeling about this and is ignoring it until it goes away.

9. If our love is dying, give it a new breath, baby by Astrid1312 Rated T Eijirou is in love with Katuski. He wants to spend the rest of his life with him, he does. But sometimes, when hero work is already hard enough, he isn't sure he wants to fight against something else than villains.

11. I wasn't looking for love (but then there you were) by dragontrappedinhumanskin Rated T Bakugo always fucking hated riding the subway every week, its crowded, loud and he's tired, but then he starts seeing the same redhead every time.

-- Katsuki blinked in disbelief. What the shit, he’s asking to play rock, paper, scissors. Is he fucking five years old? Who can be this stupid?! And he took his hand off the handle, does he want to fall?

Katsuki glared at him, but the redhead just smiled, and his eyes glint with a challenge, and before Katsuki can really think it through he’s taking his free hand and making a fist in front of himself.

The redhead’s smile turned less challenging and more cheerful, and Katsuki decided that this might not be that bad. He’s going to fucking crush him at rock, paper, scissors, even if it’s a stupid game.

“Huh?” Kirishima asks, blinking and looking away like that’d convince Bakugou he hadn’t just been staring.

“Man up,” Bakugou hisses at him. “If there’s something you want, then fucking say it.”

Kirishima goes quiet, again, and Bakugou can practically hear the gears turning in his head. If he keeps this up, he’s going to burn out whatever brain he still has. Just as Bakugou’s about to scoff and tell him so, Kirishima leans in so that their faces are too close together.

“What,” Bakugou says, every one of his muscles locking up as he fights conflicting urges to lean closer and edge away from Kirishima’s proximity.

“You stopped me, last time,” Kirishima tells him, lips curled into a pout. “Are you going to let me say it, now?”

Kirishima has always made things easy for Bakugou. But that doesn't mean that Bakugou's gotten any better at these things, even after all of these years.
