King of the northmost human kingdom, last of the Northwander bloodline cursed by his ancestors who long ago in desperate fight against famine were forced to eat their brethren in order to survive the neverending winter. To this day the sin committed long ago causes the souls of men who sit the northern throne to never leave their earthly bodies. For this reason north has always been ruled by the same bloodline, the mass grave of unresting kings should only be for the Northwanders to inhabit, no other bloodline should suffer the fate of an undying.

But in all honesty this character was just an excuse for me to put a cool spin on King Dedede. I’ve been obsessing over him in ssbu

Recently I fell in love with Berserk which subsequently sparked my interest in dark fantasy again. Here’s my attempt at imitating the gritty style seen on Berserk’s pages. She’s still lacking a proper name, for now I simply call her General. She is a knight hailing from the furthest kingdom in the east. She chose the path of knighthood when her home was swallowed by the living mass of darkness known as the Deep. Deep was a creation of the mighty Oni, who after years of attempting to contain his demonic nature failed and succumbed to his own hunger. 

The General now serves as one of the highest ranking knights on the grand capitals army. Despite her gender she is widely respected due to her brutal way of fighting and unending resolve which both stem from her tragic past.

Rocker girl who has nothing to do with my fantasy characters. I saw the pose somewhere and got inspired to practice dynamic poses and perspective.

Meladon, the false god of men is somewhat of a main-antagonist in my world. His only true fear is the fear of death, however cowering away would only cause one to eventually be taken by time. Meladon knows this and chooses to seek immortality at any cost. He becomes the pontiff of the grand-cathedral and as the highest authority behind the king, he orchestrates most of the core-events leading to the end of the ages such as the church dismantling the royalty, the final war between elves and humans and most importanly convincing people that he is the true god of all.

However even the gods are not immortal and despite his tremendous efforts and countless experiments he conducted on the poor souls who believed he was a god, he never found what he seeked. Overwhelming paranoia and anxiety plagued Meladon in his old days perverting his former cunningness into pure insanity.

This piece is named Dance Macabre. The name comes from a song by the band named Ghost. Heavy inspiration for Meladon came from the band’s lead singer Papa Emeritus

My third character-design and the first not looking like a roided-out beast: I made this gal in a short burst of inspiration I got from the sick theme of the newest Street Fighter V character; G. The name and story of this girl is still a mystery for me. For now I’ll call her Lich.

The focus in my amateur-level art is always in the design, not technique. Unique and (atleast somewhat) original-looking is what I want all my characters to be!

The second picture and also one which lives up to the blog’s name! This is an older and rougher sketch depicting the legendary trade-emperor, goblin king Vinix Goldbluff and his personal enforcer Molg. For a time Vinix was the richest person in the history of the known world having control of roughly 90% of all trade done in both human and elven kingdoms, including the criminal organizations. This made him far too important for any hitman to even consider killing. This made Molg mostly Vinix’s symbol of high authority. Once again I’ll write the full lore when I feel like doing so.

The first post on this blog is ironically not a goblin, but a demon. Dyer a demonlord, who preferred the use of most direct and pure physical strenght over any tactical thinking. This is why he was widely considered the weakest demonlord among his own kind. Despite his poor reputation he managed to survive to the very ends of earth ruling over orcs who saw him as the fabled god of war. Yadda Yadda, I’ll write the full lore later...
