TBH I don’t think it should be legal to deny your child healthcare based off your own religious belief. I’m sorry. Maybe not my most nuanced take. This isn’t even about Jehovah’s Witnesses and Christian Scientists and sects that do not believe in medical procedures. I am from a super religious area in the south and I have seen so many evangelicals use the “religious exemption” loophole to avoid vaccinating their children while still allowing them to attend youth activities or school. Like, I don’t recall any part of Baptist doctrine that supports that and furthermore your right to religion should not supersede your child’s right to not die of a preventable illness.

We’ve seen even more extreme cases with evangelical sects where children have been neglected to death during ‘exorcisms’ or faith healing attempts and these cases rarely make it to trial even though the parents (and often religious leaders) directly caused the death.

And I am absolutely not saying ‘snatch babies from their home due to their parents religious beliefs’ there was this epic ‘parents rights’ trial where two parents were trying to defend their right to deny their daughter with cancer healthcare and it ended with the state having medical power of attorney over the child and the parents still having physical custody. Which is probably the best call in many of these situations. Parents should not have a right to neglect their children to death.

reminder that if you ever buy wool yarn secondhand you should put it in a plastic bag in the freezer for a week, let it thaw 24 hours, then refreeze another week. this makes sure that if there are any moths or pests they are killed by the first freeze, and the remaining eggs are lured to hatch by the thawing and then killed with the second freeze. until this process is complete you must keep the yarn isolated from your existing stash. i buy a lot of wool yarn from thrift and antique shops and always do this and have never had a problem with moths or other bugs. if you buy wool sweaters or other wool things secondhand you should also do this just to be safe

Their doctorate is real and from an accredited institution

Their doctorate is relevant to the subject matter of the book

hey did you know??? that if you stop stretching and maintaining mobility in your body then it goes away?? things get tight and you can't move the way that you used to??? and when you decide to try getting a stretch routine going that the first week fucking sucks because you keep going 'damn i used to be able to do this no problem' and then you have to switch gears and be kind to yourself and just focus on getting better from here instead of berating yourself for dropping the good habits in the first place??? and your body never stops aging so you gotta keep taking care of it and sometimes you gotta take care of it extra in certain areas because of things that happened when you were younger and it's boring and sometimes hurts but it's so necessary???

That is a convoluted way of saying transmascs and non-binary people that will have the rest of the queer community chiming in like “oh haha that was such an embarassing time I hate those kinds of people” because they want to find a progressive way of bullying certain trans people they don’t like. I’m sick of it. Stop being a coward and say “I hate transmascs and non-binary people” so that people know to block you instead of pretending that you’re not targeting anyone specific. Like maybe it’s just me, but I haven’t forgotten how those stupid fucking cringe compilations that racked up millions of views contained majority transmasc and non-binary teenagers. Who were literally just being teenagers.
