Over the past few years Angels & Airwaves have kind of just turned into a studio project. I understand that the guys have other priorities and obligations, but I’d like to see them live again sometime soon. With that being said though, this little EP is pretty damn solid. This is a four track EP with acoustic songs off of their first full length record, “We Don’t Need to Whisper”. From what I understand, Aaron Rubin, their producer had a big hand in putting together this release. Other than engineering and producing the record, he also performed the percussion and bass for the record. That’s one part of this release that I think really shines. The additional instrumentation. It makes the songs unique and fresh. In the beginning of “The Adventure” I think they even use a telephone ring as an instrument. Some pretty unique stuff on here. I dig it. I do wish this would have been released with normal packaging and artwork though, instead of just a clear slip. Another thing I enjoy about this release though, is Tom’s vocals. I like the fact that he changed up some of the vocal melodies. I think it gives the whole thing more of a live feel, besides the noticeable pitch correction on “The Adventure”. I think it’s also pretty awesome that he takes the time to sign some records on their way out. This is my third record signed by Tom. Very grateful. I’m excited to see what these guys cook up next. Maybe a new full length and a tour? We’ll see…

So hey, I know a lot of us are pretty similar in music choice, and pretty similar in how much the people who make that music can mean to us. And to be honest, this is kinda hard. Chester Bennington was an extraordinary guy, with an extraordinary mind, I can only imagine. And I really wish I wasn't making this post because of his final choice. And I can't even bear to think about how his family and friends are feeling, if I'm feeling crap. I'm so terribly sorry for them all. Please, if you need it, talk. Find someone; family, friends, neighbours, someone you trust. Maybe someone you don't even know. Heck, I've heard enough wonderful stories about the kind words of a stranger. Find someone. Find me, if that's what you need, I'll be here. If you're in your last moments please wait just one more minute and talk to someone. And if that's not enough, and maybe it isn't, please just hold on, someone wants to help you. Wait for them. If anything could be taken from Chester's last decision, let it be that so many people wanted to have helped. To be there. I know it's hard, I do. But I also know that there is someone who would do anything to keep you alive. Fight for them. If you can't fight your extraordinary mind, fight for them. We're here. We want you here, too. -Jaimee

Quote
Because 5 years ago, two gigantic planes smashed into the World Trade Center and killed 3,000 people. Then my brother and your brothers and sisters followed a war across the world where 100,000 more people lost their lives. And if you try to fix violence WITH violence, you do nothing but create violence.

The whole punk rock thing has nothing to do with music. At all… . It has to do with the transformation of being one of the group to an individual and having the balls to say what you want to say, do what you want to do, and follow the path that seems fit. x
