hi guys im back
so i recently attempted a "vaganova daily routine" (as in i adhered to the routine described by jaden grimm in her blog post here) yesterday and i am extremely sore from that but i will probably do this again (just not. everyday bc ow and also its summer). or i might attempt other daily routines at different schools such as the royal ballet
anyhow, here is how my day went:
8am
i wake up and have a quick breakfast before starting academics / online school
9am - 10.30am
i start "academics", which for me is just doing sociology summer hw (and i didnt even finish it all bc i have a lot to do for it)
11am
lunch!! and getting ready for ballet class at 1pm
1pm - 2.15pm
break for 15 minutes before i get onto pointe class!
classical class for an hr and 15. barre and centre - i was making up my own combinations for this portion of class. also the soles of my shoes are very sticky??? it made turning harder but i got through it all and was winded by the end lmao
according to jaden grimm classes can be up to 3 hrs long. and to that i say - vaganova training i love you but absolutely not. my longest ever class at my ballet school is 2hrs and at the youth company im at its 2 1/2 including repertoire. so no
2.30pm
so update: one of my ribbons fell out of my shoe (well more like popped off) so i had to sew it back. pointe class will be resumed once i finish sewing
3pm
pointe class! for this one i was going through the pointe section in our exam syllabus (and im hoping to take this exam next november so wish me luck). also i need to work on my pirouettes on pointe - i didnt do it this class but im sure when i work on pointe again over the summer i will work on them more so that i can do (hopefully multiple) pirouettes on pointe. truth be told, im still scared of pointe bc im half a foot taller than i normally am and it throws me off completely
4pm
break before body conditioning or what jaden grimm in her vaganova blog calls "gymnastics". i have decided on a workout already (focus on middle split and extensions). recovery after classical and pointe involves foam rolling and stretching, although i save the crazier stuff for later
5pm
body conditioning. i work on my middle split and extension drills. i only do an hr bc i cannot
6pm
the day is done. i am unimaginably sore. i do some more homework and curse myself for my own decisions
🥀
so there we have it folks: it is now 12pm the next day and i am still in bed bc ystday was intense. props to all the vaganova students out there - yall are smashing it. also im sorry if the routine i followed was horrifically inaccurate i did only use 2 sources (the other being isabella mcguire mayes' video here) and maybe if yall have tips you could please tell me. that being said this was a stunt and in no way am i going to make this a daily routine for the rest of my summer. i might just do normal conditioning and a class here and there tbh

i think my favorite thing about buckynat is the fact that neither ever has to wear a mask around the other; they can both just be their genuine selves, as stonefaced and stoic or as vulnerable and raw as they need to be
both characters have taken on so many faces and personalities, but around each other, they can just let their guard down and exist without any artifice and i love that dynamic so much

How many mass graves and extinct cultures are needed to convince Christian apologists that missionaries and missionizing are inherently xenophobic?
The answer is apparently always, "At least one more."
