The Warlock's hair for the ask thing. :)
Maintenance. It requires ALL the maintenance. Because there’s just so much of it, and psionics tends to make hair static-y, he needs to brush and maintain it everyday. The Warlock experimented with braids and weights in his hair to keep it down, but ultimately just lets it float because humans appear to find it intimidating.

Personal pronouns in Japanese thoughts for my OCs
Uses "watashi [私]" — Cargo, Echidna, Miracle
Uses "watakushi [私]" — Bond
Uses "boku [ぼく]" — Yuki-Onna (when she's with XCOM)
Uses "ore [俺]" — Hawking (habitually uses the plural form 俺たち when he's in captivity, switches to 俺さま to be more egotistic early on afterwards, then settles down to the basic form when he's humbled some), Yuki-Onna (by the time she joins the Reapers), Charybdis (uses 俺さま all throughout her story)
#fascinating#I'm learning Japanese myself and I *think* I'm getting the implications here#perfect choices for Hawking and Charybdis

it is time for 👵✨ EVIL SPACE GRANDMA ✨👵
Charybdis! The Scholar Ethereal. Of course, for the existing canon timeline she looks exactly the same as all the rest of the Elders, but post-X2 she starts to pursue a bit more individuality... her people's old methods are clearly not working.
Keeper of the history the Elders have stolen from their subjects, she sits on it like a dragon on its hoard. It never gets taught to the peoples it belongs to... nor is it used to serve their plans, at least, not for a long time it hasn't been.
Don't be mistaken: having perspective and insight the other Elders lack is by no means an indicator that Charybdis is more sympathetic than the rest of them. She is very much still on board with the Elders' goals and complete amorality. She just thinks that perhaps their methods [including herself in the collective, of course] ought to change to be more practical.
Which is not true of her fashion sense. That's just pure self-expression, darling.

Oh you're so right. Where's that post about that emergency British mint cake?
Going to implement psions, more or active ones, burn a lot of calories, thus they need to eat more.
Probably need to consume a higher amount of vitamins and minerals. Maybe some elerium too if that's safe to consume.

A friend was curious on my thoughts on the Hybrids being unable to drink alcohol per the Retaliation book info.
Probably a result from hybridization, but I’m leaning towards it being more deliberately done by the Elders. Control freak nature and all to keep tight reigns on their creations and make sure they are in tip top shape 24/7. Just a big ol’

Unless they say so or you’re one of the “favored” alien races under them. But even those are controlled in some fashion.

seeing a link to twitter nowadays is so confusing. like... x.com? huh?

Commander... excellent callout post against the aliens. This has greatly set back their work on the Avatar Project. We continue to expect great things from XCOM and the Resistance.

I’m yet to see someone mention this particular detail, but in XCOM: Chimera Squad’s tutorial mission at the City 31 museum, you can see some rather familiar equipment.
It’s uncertain if these are replicas or the real deal, but I think we all know the most interesting detail here. Not only does an Ethereal statue stand where you’d assume the Hunter’s armor would be, alongside the Assassin’s and the Warlock’s, but there is no equipment of the guy altogether (At least not where I could see, please do correct me if I’m wrong).
Did he survive? Did the Reapers (wherever they may be) insist on NOT putting their former member’s equipment on display?
Who knows! The Hunter is undoubtedly the community’s favorite, so I would not be surprised if they pull a Jane Kelly and canonize he’s actually alive, somewhere… The only certain thing is, the fact his armor is not there is a bit too conspicuous.
