So I dunno if you’ve ever gotten yourself armor…

But making it is always a groovy alternative! Just EVA foam, form it and seal it with a heat gun, then some chrome spray paint, and brads to attach them, and voila! Just sharing my newfound wisdom after making leather plate armor for a renfaire recently <33

honestly i think a lot of otherkin i've seen are some sort of fantastical creature, and they're just as valid as everyone else! whatever makes you happiest is important, and you shouldn't care too much about whatever other people think. as long as you feel good about yourself, you're doing something right!

also your kintype actually sounds so cool.....

I'm genuinely happy now that i've accepted that i'm alterhuman/otherkin - but how do I stop feeling "less valid" for being such and not therian. The only thing that can describe what I feel is best described in a fantastical creature, but because it's fantastical, I feel like it's not valid/ i'm "making it up".

Any tips to get out of this mindset? It kinda sucks :(

Being alterhuman, nonhuman, etc. isn't just identifying as a cute little creature. When your identity leaves you often outcast by society, it can carry some pretty dark and/or negative traits. It's simply our nature as alter-beings, and we should learn to except ourselves and others for having these experiences.

I understand some of you may be triggered by dark, gorey, or generally morbid things, but that doesn't mean you should look down on or discriminate against those who deal with those experiences. There is a dark side to being alterhuman. Always has been.

My message here is that no matter how gross, violent, or otherwise your experiences may be, you are still loved and valid. Imbrace being a monster if that's what you'd like. As long as you're not hurting anyone you shouldn't hide from these feelings.
