in theo’s living room with @theodore-hawkins.
“How much ribbon is too much ribbon?” Avery wondered from down below as she sat inside of a messy circle made up of countless gift wrapping essentials. Blue orbs swung his way as she took a second to find Theo’s gaze but, seemingly finding the answer on her own, the blonde quickly laughed and gave a tiny shake of her head. “Forget that--- there’s no such thing.” Plucking a spool of gilded fabric from the mix she began to unravel a lengthy strip. “I just want Lucy’s presents to look perfect. I worked really hard on findin’ the best gifts for everyone this year.”

at avery’s apartment with @brettgoldstein.
“Red velvet and I have come to a mutual agreement that we’re in love and gettin’ married. The wedding’s in June,” Avery mumbled around a mouthful of cupcake, the off white icing sticking to the edge of her lips. That kind of declaration wasn’t uncommon; in fact, she tended to devote herself to all things sugar on a near daily basis. “I’m serious this time,” glancing over to Brett she attempted to smirk before devouring another bite, “you need to get yourself a tux, Goldstein. I’m gonna need you as the best man.”

outside of brethan’s place with @ethanhenrys.
“So I’ve got a cooler stocked to the brim with drinks and snacks, plus enough Christmas music on a cd to play us all the way into next December...” Avery chirped happily as she trotted away from the driver’s side of her car and met Ethan in a hug. “I’m callin’ it Fishmas 2017--- the start of an annual tradition, no doubt.” Grinning over his shoulder she squeezed one last time and then pulled away. “Are you ready to go or do we still need to grab things from inside?”

LOTTIE AVERY.
@avery-grayson
“Ohh Avery!” The blonde sang out as she strolled into the restaurant, waving at her cousin, running about fifteen minutes late… which was actually about thirty minutes early for the woman. “Sorry I’m late, babe, I couldn’t get get this guy out of my apartment. I mean, you’d think telling someone to leave six times in a row would do the trick but,” Shrugging her shoulders as if to say ‘what can you do’, Lottie leaned down and pressed a quick kiss into the other woman’s cheek in greeting before sitting down at the table. “Did you order any apps? How have you been?”
Her brow arched higher as Avery watched her cousin glide over to the table as if she hadn’t been expected ages ago. There wasn’t any malice hidden in the depths of her blue gaze, though, just an evident spark of familiar amusement. Picking up her mimosa, having already indulged herself with two while she waited, she playfully narrowed her gaze. “We’ll get to me and appetizers in a moment... what kind of men are you bedding that they can’t find their own way to a door when mornin’ comes? Do we need to start hangin’ up signs around your apartment again?”

ANNABELLE GRAYSON.
@avery-grayson
“Avery Nicole!” Annabelle called out as she let herself into her sister’s apartment and knelt down to greet all of the dogs that came running to her barking and wagging their tails. “Avery Nicole Grayson! I swear girl, you better be home. It’s been too long since I’ve seen you and if you’re not here well then… well then I just might die.”
If the sound of barking dogs hadn’t signaled AB’s arrival the sudden shouts from her sister would’ve done just fine. Securing a tiny diamond stud in her ear Ave smiled, only to herself, and turned toward her bedroom door. “Of course I’m here,” she reassured as she sauntered out and made her way into the living room. “I promised I’d be back from Los Angeles last night, didn’t I?” True, her flights hadn’t always gone as planned, but this time was a happy exception. “Just like I promised endless bottles of wine and food you didn’t have to cook. Now--- tell me how much you love me. I’ll wait...“

the pumpkin patch with @theodore-hawkins.
With a oversized bag in her arms Avery navigated the busy pathway until she could reach Theo’s side. It wasn’t his attention she was after, though. Her blue orbs remained fixed on the small child eagerly looking past his legs. “Alright, Miss Lucy, I just bought more than enough caramel corn to fuel us for at least an hour of searchin’ for the most perfect pumpkin you’ve ever seen.” Cutting her glance up to touch upon his face she smirked before turning back to his daughter, “and maybe if we’re extra sweet we can even talk your daddy into buyin’ us two... what do you think?”

“I agree. Cider just tastes like fall. Hot chocolate is somehow both a year round thing and a very winter thing, for me at least.” She stepped forward as the line moved. She could already smell the sweet scent of the drinks wafting towards her through the cool air. She looked over at the woman’s costume and nodded, “Yeah, I can’t imagine whatever paint you used to turn green would hold up well in the water, but at least there are plenty of other things for you to do throughout the day.”
The green wig concealing her naturally blonde hair bobbed with another agreeable nod. “I’m nowhere near ashamed to admit I have at least one --- make that two --- cups of hot chocolate a day.” Then again, that had a lot to do with the fact that the beverage played a large role in her childhood. At this point it was pretty much tradition to enjoy a mug alongside her older sister at the end of each evening. “So far I’ve already won a round of corn hole and I’m plannin’ on heading for the Tarot Booth soon just for laughs,” she continued as the line shifted yet again, “have you been there yet?”

“Avery’s my favorite!!” Brett quips with a laugh, grinning for the picture. “Don’t tell AB I said that though, she’d have my head.” He jokes, shaking his head a bit. “I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever, Ave. Work’s been keeping me busy. You doing okay?” He asks, moving to give his friend a quick hug. “Me, you, AB, and Ethan need to do dinner soon, okay?”
The moment her finger released from the side button on her phone, effectively capturing their painted faces, Avery pulled back into a teasing smirk. “Please. I’m tellin’ her the first chance I get and you know it.” Would she really? Probably not, but she had to make the vow anyways. Taking the time to immediately save their picture into her favorites album she glanced back to meet Brett’s gaze, nodding along. “Work always keeps me busy, but I’m doing just fine. At this point I’m used to the constant travel, even if it is exhausting.” Nobody ever said her job would be easy, but she loved it all the same. “How does dinner next week sound? AB and I can host.”

NASHVILLE NIGHTMARE 2017 // BOO’S CRUISE.
Despite the fact that her career requires her to habitually adopt new personas Avery Grayson never passes up an opportunity to get in costume. For this year’s Boo’s Cruise the southern actress opted to go as Disgust, from the children’s movie Inside Out, along with her older sister Annabelle (Joy), and best friends Brett (Fear) and Ethan (Anger).

boo’s cruise with @annabelle-grayson , @brettgoldstein , and @ethanhenrys.
“Stop right there!” Avery blurted out in an insistent demand, one hand thrust forward to point an accusing finger at them as her blue eyes narrowed. “If you think you’re slippin’ out of here before we get ten pictures first you’re outta your damn mind.” Just as suddenly as it came her look of malice disappeared and the costumed blonde - disguised by a silky wig and fresh coat of green body paint - happily traipsed forward. “You know I have to document everything. Now smile pretty and say, ‘Avery’s my favorite’!”

With all the different events taking place over the Halloween weekend, it had been a pretty easy choice for Ashton to hop aboard the booze cruise. The chance to hang out on a ship surrounded by alcohol was right up her alley, after all. She was decked out in costume for the night - a rather spot on Harley Quinn - and already a few drinks in when she decided to plop herself into a seat to take in some of the live music. “Oh, bloody hell,” Ashton yelped out when she realized she’d sat right next to someone else without even asking. “Probably should ask before I just start taing seats all willy nilly.”
The woman’s yelp startled Avery out of her trance as she gazed out at the mingling crowd, but her surprised expression quickly melted away as a smile too its place. “You’re more than welcome to sit with me any time,” Despite not knowing Ashton well they had run into one another a time or two. Having an opportunity to get to know her more was hardly a problem. With a short glass full of whiskey and coke dangling from her hand - painted green to fully get into her character Disgust - she continued to beam back at the musician and scooted her chair over to make more room. “How’ve you been, honey? Don’t think I’ve seen you since that day back in the park.”
#okay... I briefly remember them meeting in the park during the opening?? haha#and I feel like we agreed they probably loosely knew each other because musician + actress#c:ashton#chat#| event --- nashville nightmare 17 |

“I’m Tinkerbell. Duh.” she said to the man who was trying (and failing) to flirt with her during the Devil’s Crawl. “I mean the wings and the green dress is pretty obvious right? HEY! EYES UP HERE!” disgusted by his ogling, she walked to another empty spot at the Stillery’s bar to wait for another shot. “Why is it so hard to look cute and not have men ogle you like a piece of prime cut steak?”
Avery’s gaze, framed by a thick fringe of dramatically bright green lashes, narrowed threateningly at the man as he finally got the hint and ambled away. “Because some men are just pigs, honey, and we’re doomed to have to deal with them.” Thankfully in her experience she’d met just as many decent ones, but there was always that one guy lurking in some unfortunate dark corner of any given bar. “Here,” passing over another shot of tequila she smirked and then raised her own tiny glass, “this should help erase the memory of his leery gaze--- and if not I have two more waitin’ to finish the job.”

Watching her four year old son pick out a pumpkin was one of her favourite things to see; the joy on his face as he ran to each one inspecting it, making sure it was perfect brought such joy to her heart. She’d been so caught up watching him as he dragged her around; she hardly noticed when he pulled her right into someones path. She let out a surprised yelp, before letting out a laugh. ‘’I’m so sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going.’’
Avoiding the run in wasn’t so much quick reflexes as it was a lucky mistake. Just as the little boy pulled his mother directly into her path Avery found herself distracted by a craft booth and already stepping in a different direction. Hearing the woman’s apology drew her up short, however. “Don’t even worry about it,” the reassurance was coupled with a friendly smile as her eyes roamed down to her eager son, “I’d be anxious to find the perfect pumpkin, too.” With the flash of a wink at the boy she shifted her gaze back to the brunette’s face. “Kids will be kids, right?”

violet langwood.
Violet took a sip of her drink, gloved hand loosely holding onto her drink. Standing amongst the crowd, in her ankle length dress, she couldn’t help but compare the amount of clothes she was wearing compared to everyone else. To be quite honest, she couldn’t imagine how some of these people were comfortable in such little clothing. As long as they were comfortable she guessed. Putting her drink down, she twirled the fake cigarette holder in her fingers as she stood up. Taking a breath, she went to move to a less packed area of the boat, hoping to find a little peace and quiet. Her goal was quickly thwarted when she bumped shoulders with someone, causing her to stumble slightly. “Sorry about that love.” This was the problem with these things, so many people.
Avery felt the collision, mild as it was, jostle her forward, but luckily the rum punch clasped firmly in hand didn’t spill. She’d never been a huge drinker, but on a night like tonight she wasn’t about to let so much as a single drop go to waste. As her blue eyes lifted from their inspection of her beverage she locked in on the other woman, not to mention her iconic costume, and immediately flashed a beaming grin. “Oh, honey, you’re perfectly fine!” With the amount of people crowded into the space knocking into one another was almost to be expected. Besides, her naturally cheerful disposition, at odds with her costume character, meant it was rare to get her flustered. Tucking a shiny lock of her green wig behind the shell of her ear she passed another glance over the woman from head to toe and smiled for the second time. “I love your costume. Audrey is such an inspiration,” and she should’ve been, considering Ave was an actress herself. “Breakfast at Tiffany’s is one of my favorite classics.”

stella faux.
Halloween was Stella’s favorite holiday right after Christmas; which would explain why she always went all in when it came to her costumes. She loved dressing up as her favorite characters, and always wore something that made people stare (sometimes to even took pictures), and after being Justin Bieber last year, she decided to dress up as Wonder Woman for this special ocassion - which was the Haunted Boo’s Cruise. Now, with a four-year-old to raise, Stella couldn’t remember the last time she had the opportunity to party - and drink, while at that, so she definitely decided to have fun for once, standing at the bar, her foot tapping on the floor in slight anticipation of her drink to finally arrive. It did, and with a flick of her wrist she finished it within a few seconds, placing the empty glass back on the counter. “This stuff’s for babies. I thought this was a booze cruise,” she pouted almost like a child, turning around to look around the place. “I’m not sure if this room is full of strangers or if I just can’t recognize anyone because of the costumes.”
Avery’s lips vibrated with a soft hum as she followed along with the song currently blaring through the speakers and waited her turn in line. Occasions like this always drew a crowd so it wasn’t too surprising that she’d already been in position for a good five minutes. Nevertheless, despite her ‘Disgust’ costume, mirrored from the children’s movie, a pleased smile still held firm at the edges of her mouth. The actress never turned down an opportunity to adopt a new character, even if only for a holiday, making Halloween a distinct favorite of her own. “It’s probably better that they’re not makin’ them too strong tonight,” she supplied as her blue hues roamed over to find the source of the voice, “otherwise we’d have drunks tippin’ over the rails of the ship long before midnight hit.” Expelling a quiet laugh she turned her focus to the rest of the room, picking out only those she’d arrived with from the crowd. Given their group costumes it wasn’t hard, but everyone else remained a mystery. “I’d say a bit of both? Drinks and dark lighting certainly don’t help, either.”

maxine bennett.
It was a crisp morning the Saturday the carnival started, and Max couldn’t help but find herself drawn to the hot cider booth. Already, she could smell the sweet aroma. “God, I can’t remember the last time I had good, old fashioned hot cider,” she hummed to herself as she waited in line. She figured she’d poke around the carnival in the afternoon before going home to change into her costume. After that, who knew? Maybe she’d try the bar crawl. “Maybe I’ll do the dunk tank now too so I don’t ruin my costume later…”
Blue orbs slid sideways as Avery’s attention shifted away from the short line in front of her and, instead, to the other woman nearby. “Personally I’m more of a hot chocolate girl myself, but there’s something deliciously fall about cider.” Quite predictably it was one of her favorite seasons, so the petite blonde was all for indulging in a mug --- or six.. “As far as your costume goes, that’s probably a smart idea. Part of me wishes I’d thought the same,” expelling a quiet laugh she gestured down to the costume hugging her frame, “but--- it’s a little too late to turn back now. I couldn’t resist getting in character as soon as possible.”
