maybe it's disqppointment rather than jealousy, i felt this before, when you did something that i was once trying to make you do but you didnt like it so i stopped, and then i saw you do that to others. and now, you did it again. you can do it to anyone, just not to me.

What kills me about Chargestep is Ortega has always loved the lie. The one Sidestep sold them as just another vigilante, the one Ortega created about them being the rebellious younger sibling of their nemesis. It's such a romantic notion how could they not fall?

In true Ortega fashion its dramatic and exciting and makes them feel like they are doing good and protecting Sidestep with keeping their secret.

Only its all wrong.

Combine this with years of grief over Sidesteps death, painting over reality with heavy drinking and hallucinations and Sidestep becomes even further removed from the truth. They only exist as Ortega's rose colored memories.

But then! Surprise, Sidestep isn't dead but they are oh so far from Ortega's fabrication. Uglier truths just keep creeping in.

And Ortega really needs to come to terms with the fact they loved the mask, and if they can love the person underneath.

If I would tell the truth, I will confess that I'm scared to you, to this feeling, and to this weakness.
