tOXIC aVENGER TRAILER?! Starring WHO?!
It looks like fun! Don't know why they gave him a son though. I guess single fathers are more in vogue than dorky virgins now. I would have been happy with a simple remake but seems they're going for a full re-imagining, with the antagonists being the corporation dumping all the toxic waste in Tromaville rather than bullies and random criminals.

Goodness, these Ornithoctonids always grow like weeds. I'm already going to have to move it into a new enclosure next instar.

One Piece 1152 has begun a flashback within a flashback
First off, Zoro obviously had CoC. Enma literally forces out its wielder's haki. It's basically a shortcut. Zoro is out here with training wheels on being a haki user. But at the same time, it's wild and unrefined because Zoro didn't even realize he had it, much less needed to train it. As the leaks foretold, his coc is always leaking. Completely incontinent coc.
The writing here is obviously setting up Sanji to gain CoC in his quest to overtake Zoro (and Jinbe). We're witnessing the start of a whole character arc here. The rivalry between Zoro and Sanji is going to push Sanji even higher to keep the playing field equal. I mean, if CoC is how you defeat the God's Knights, then I don't see how you could possibly get around all three members of the Monster Trio having it.
That didn't really feel like a serious invitation. Certainly not on the same level as Luffy asking Jinbe. On top of all the logistical problems, Loki is implied to be so strong that it'd just break the story. He's implied to be another CoC user. The World Government already considers him a nearly Yonkou-level threat and he's not only not a pirate but he's never even left Elbaph. He's the kind of character who's going to show up in the final climactic battle alongside the rest of Luffy's allies to help fight Imu's army. Only at that point would they reveal he joined the New Giant Warrior Pirates offscreen.
There had been a theory going around for a while that Shanks had the abyss sigil somewhere on his left arm and that's the retroactive reason why he allowed the Lord of the Coast to eat it. So when leaks talked about him having a tattoo, everyone crowed about the theory being confirmed. But that doesn't look like what Sommers has on his elbow, it's more like a simple crosshair. Who knows though, I guess it's still possible.
God only knows what "child of destiny" is supposed to mean. He's a member of the Figarland family who ended up being raised by pirates, but that doesn't exactly make him some prophecized Chosen One. Unless it's a Lemonhope situation and his "destiny" is to free his people from being gross inbred slobs with the emotional maturity of toddlers. Which would be by helping the actual Chosen One, aka whoever eats the Nika fruit, aka Luffy.
It seems that Loki was indeed just the fall guy for whoever decided Harald needed to die. The question is why did they summon Jarul too? Why would they have a witness of Loki's innocence? Was he also meant to die? Just seems like a sloppy plan. Unless Harald actually did call them and the timing of the assassination just happened to be really inconvenient. Clearly the God's Knights are involved in this somehow, and Harald was collaborating with the World Government which is tantamount to treason. Pieces are starting to come together but we don't have nearly enough information yet, especially since Loki's flashback was interrupted by another flashback to Harald's wild and rambunctious youth. Clearly this information is needed before we circle back to why he was being stabbed to death by his own soldiers, the resulting brawl ending in Jarul being impaled through the head and Loki being imprisoned for a crime he did not commit.

I was searching Uber Eats for local restaurants that sell takoyaki, and I stumbled across a place really close by that I've never seen before. So I looked at the rest of their menu and decided to try the banh mi. I've never had Vietnamese before so I went for the traditional style. Very flavorful and delicious. I'd order it again

I'm going to keep it a fat stack. I would in fact spend 70 dollars on this and wear it with pride. The problem is that this godforsaken brand is 2 sizes smaller than standard sizing and they do not sell this shirt in what they would call quadruple extra large.

"Chicago ain't shit but Mississippi with tall buildings instead of plantations."
I've seen such overwhelming hype about Sinners on Twitter that I couldn't wait another 3-4 months to watch it during my yearly Halloween binge. If it makes a difference, Michaels released their Halloween collections today for Friday the 13th.
I love a good period piece. I was trying to stay as unspoiled as possible, so I assumed this took place before the 1930's. I did peg it as the Jim Crow era, I suppose I just underestimated how long that lasted for.
That was fucking amazing.
The spirits appearing during Sammie's song, the vampires' Irish jig, the music in general, the fight, the dawn, Smoke gunning down the klan, the entire ending scene....holy shit. This actually was worth the hype. I am absolutely floored. Gobsmacked, even.
The time period being the 30's turned out to be very deliberate since it allowed for a timeskip into the 90's, aka what someone my age would consider to be (almost) modern day. A young man old enough to drink during the heyday of sharecropping becomes an old man and I was already born by that year. I think that really plays into the film's themes. Because this is, at the end of the day, an inextricably black story. It is about the struggles and discrimination African Americans faced during this era and the lives they were forced to live in order to survive it. The only white characters are the ku klux klan and a more literal monster whose goals led him to do effectively the same thing as the klan. The first person from Club Juke to be turned into a vampire is the 7/8 white Mary, so her inclusion in the black community actually did end up getting them all killed just as they feared. Unfortunate implications, but it's not my place to speak on it.
The time period also allowed for Smoke to whip out two different machine guns and a hand grenade in his last stand. Couldn't have done that if this took place before WWI. You know it was purely for how satisfying it would be to watch.
I think if I came home drenched in blood with huge clawmarks gouged into my face, and my dad was like "ARE YOU READY TO GIVE UP THE DEVIL'S MUSIC NOW????", I'd just turn around and leave again. Which turns out Sammie actually did.
Remmick, Joan, and Bert trying to enter Club Juke posing as well-meaning traveling musicians looking for a good time reminded me of that Twitter thread about letting a nazi into your bar and it becomes a nazi bar.
The final scene does tie up a couple loose threads, like how Mary escaped after killing/turning Stack, and why Smoke locked Club Juke's doors instead of letting the klansmen go inside so they'd be easier to kill all at once.

Round eyes...light hair...long nose...sideburns....I'm going to come out and say it. Oda fumbled by not making Killingham look like Kaku and also not calling his devil fruit the Kirin Kirin no Mi. It would have been a whole well of jokes since giraffes are called "kirin" in Japanese. Just imagine Luffy seeing Killingham and calling him Usopp.
NOT what I imagined his human face to look like. There's no morphic resonance with his hair or eyes, and you'd really think he'd look a lot less intimidating overall. Why's he not wearing his gas mask anymore? Also...Gee Killingham, how come your devil fruit let you have TWO hybrid forms?

We used to have goth girls in every animated show. They wouldn't let you make a cartoon from 90-00s without at least one goth chick.
