My money kinda— sorta is coming in so I can do stuff tomorrow hopefully if not Friday!!

However, I thought I’d place the changes to River and some of her verses below the cut here. Since it is quite a bit and it’ll take me a minute to revamp some of it.

Fallout Main Verse: The only change here is her age and her full name. Her name is now River Amélie Robichaux (reflecting her Cajun background) and she is 27-28 years old rather than 25 or 26. To clarify why Edith would be a baby, River’s parents had her rather young, so it’s not entirely unfounded that her mother and father would have a baby prior to her father’s passing as Edith was conceived months before he has gotten worse and passed 7 months into her mother’s pregnancy (I’ve seen circumstances of this, but this also explains why she’s so adamant on finding her sister because she was the one helping her mother postpartum after the loss of her father and feels even more responsible since Edith is all she has left). I’m likely keeping what Vault-Tec did to her squad because spicy character development go brrr.

Resident Evil verse: Considering how I’ve written River with my best friend’s version of Leon (which of course it won’t be canon that she fully knows him and Claire other than escaping the city or any other canon character unless discussed, I would love to have pre established stuff with characters especially Rebecca considering a headcanon that she was closest to her in S.T.A.R.S., but I’d never try and shove that on anyone), River was apart of USSOCOM within a small special operations infantry team and following the death of her comrades that had been killed by a spider-like bioweapon while investigating an unmarked lab, she wound up joining S.T.A.R.S. because of Lt. Marvin Branagh, who had been a good friend to her late father Charles Robichaux and suggested that she look into joining following her honorable discharge. River is forced to join the same program within USSTRATCOM following escaping due to her own military expertise. She does eventually move into the D.S.O. later on down the line, and there are headcanons in versions of this verse where she was present in Spain (had this version with two friends because it made sense that River would have been following a different lead, but was marked MIA). She does express resentment for being forced into USSTRATCOM due to having wanted to help Jill and Chris. Her events within Raccoon City(escaping with Leon, Claire, and Sherry alongside her little sister/having to kill her mother who had been infected) and the Mansion Incident(injured by Wesker, apart of the Bravo team that was initially sent in) are still the same. She later leaves the D.S.O. following the BSAA’s attempt to cover up the events of RE7 and follows after Chris to join his team. There are other small details, but those aren’t as super important and will be placed within her information for the verse. The bioweapon version of her verse has been scrapped because River’s just a tired lady trying to survive and tbh I like it that way.

BNHA: Staying relatively the same, but there might be changes in her quirk stuff— I’ll cross that bridge when it comes.

DC: River’s DC verse is finished. So I do get to toss a half Kryptonian out at anyone who would want to touch on that. 👀

Stranger Things: There is going to be two versions of this, the Officer version and the one that I had been touching on where River winds up apart of the whole initial mess onwards after moving to Hawkins during high school because of her little sister Edith being good friends with the group. Whether she becomes an officer in that verse too or joins the military and is stationed at her father’s base outside of Hawkins is something I’m not entirely sure of yet.

There is more, but I think those updates for the other verses would be too longer for the most part, so I will likely just add more to this with small summaries later, but in the mean time there’s this stuff.

I know I’ve been gone for a while and for that I’m sorry. College has been a lot recently and to be honest life had been doing a number on me as I try to juggle a lot of things happening as these last several months haven’t been very kind to me.

I’m wanting to come back to write, but I will likely be revamping things when I do. If you need me you can always ask for my discord, but otherwise I’m gonna do my best behind the scenes to get back to doing this as I really do love writing River. Admittedly, I’ve still been writing her off this site, and she has changed in some ways, but I think that’s been a good thing. I’ve slowly gotten to the point where my anxiety with how I write her has dissipated somewhat and I’m not as worried about scrutinizing every little detail when it comes to her.

I believe I mostly needed time as I was burned out pretty badly and while I do come back I’m going to still try and take it easy and slowly integrate back into the rhythm of it all, because I don’t want to burn myself out again.

// I will say I am still trying to gather replies that I owe and make sure what I have the muse for. The semester had really burned me out a lot so I will likely be a little more careful and only responding to what I have the most muse and motivation for, but I'll still be keeping everything and answering them when I can.
