Avior is a 3/3/3 21+ premium JCINK, open lore supernatural site that takes place in the early 2000s. Avior, Michigan has been a small town tucked in the depths of the Ottawa National Forest for as long as anyone can remember. For nearly the same amount of time, it has been the source of strange phenomena. From oddly strong starlight to the overwhelming sense that something may be lurking in the forest, everyone is hesitant to be caught after dark. As researchers move to the area due to the construction of an observatory, supernatural residents worry that their true identities may be revealed and human citizens worry that their quiet town is being overrun by people who may not have their best interests in mind.

Current Events and Site Features:

We are celebrating our 1 year anniversary by introducing a choice-based event to decide what Avior will do regarding the recent reveal of Old Town! Will the town choose to develop the land to help alleviate concerns about housing and new businesses, or will they choose to close it off, hoping to prevent the recent outbreak of supernatural events from spreading further? Your characters can help influence what the town decides!

Motthew Mann found himself in Avior after the forest reached out and literally plucked him out of the air. Looking for a little more adventure outside of his hometown of Point Pleasant, he has now been living in Avior and working as a summer camp counsellor for several months.

One little secret about Motthew, though, is that he is actually Mothman. Due to that aspect of his identity, he would love to have a few more cryptid friends around town! This is a very general ask for a variety of American cryptids that could either have met Motthew several decades ago or could be brand new to him!

Recommended cryptids include the Jersey Devil, The Loveland Frogman, Bessie, Pressie, and the Giant Green Squirrel of Amble. However, Motthew is definitely open to all sorts of cryptid friends!

Just don't ask too many questions about how such a well-funded facility found itself in a dying town like Avior, Michigan or what they mean when they say there are a number of "interesting phenomena" that don't seem to occur outside of Avior.

The Observatory's work is important to the town and its surrounding ecosystem. No question could be important enough to disrupt that.

A flood has washed through Avior and in its wake a long forgotten segment of Avior's logging industry has appeared - Old Town. Currently, the Observatory and local rangers have the area closed to regular citizens, but if entire buildings were pulled up by the flood, what else might be waiting under the water?

Anansi - the trickster, man-spider god - has been around for eons and, in that time, has had a variety of impacts on human life. He has spun his web in such a way that now there are many individuals who live with his blessings or with parts of his divinity itself.

With strange magic drawing so many supernatural beings to Avior and with an inherent connection through Anansi's web, many of those blessed humans and aspects of Anansi have found themselves trapped together.

Will they form positive connections through their shared love of stories and knowledge? Or will Anansi's inclination towards trickery make these relationships more complicated?

This ad is very open. While I have listed a variety of fables that could be used for inspiration in regards to motivation and supernatural abilities, Anansi has many different stories and I encourage the use of sources beyond those that are explicitly listed.

These characters may be of any age and gender. All face claims for this want ad must be Black, but are otherwise entirely open. This ad is open to both platonic and antagonistic connections.

All the member of Rocket Seance (or, if you prefer, any of the other names they've gone by since their start in 1989) were extremely excited for the leg of their 2000 tour taking them through areas of the midwest. However, they ran into a little van trouble on their way to Marquette. After driving into the small town of Avior, it became very clear they would not be leaving any time soon.

Made up of many different members of all different species, the band is trying their best to adjust (or to escape) from the small town life they have been trapped in. However, some members are struggling more than others as aspects of their supernatural identities are thrown into conflict due to being trapped and the general magic present in Avior.

While the band is intended to a polycule, this ad is open to both romantic and platonic connections and while they are all very close, connections do not have to be romantic or physical if anyone is uninterested.

Face claims are entirely open, but all members must be in their 20s.

Avior Observatory's Researchers have been given more specific tasks! Help move the site plot forward by completing work-place assignments like investigating electromagnetic fields and taking samples from a supposedly haunted mill!

The Hatch family has run a successful media circuit for quite some time on the basis that they are supernatural investigators. One of the youngest members of their family, Charlie Hatch, has been incredibly suspicious of his family's claims for quite some time and now that he is living on his own in a small town in the middle of Michigan's upper peninsula, some of his family members have taken note of the fact his reports seem far less detailed than what they would like.

To make sure Charlie is taking his work seriously, one of his more committed family members is making the trip up to Avior in order to look after him. Unfortunately, they don't know that means they will be trapped in town along with him due to supernatural forces - though, as an investigator, that might be an exciting moment for them.

This character's age and specific relationship to Charlie is very open. They could be a sibling, cousin, aunt, uncle, or truly anything in-between!

Their fc, gender, and specific occupation is also open - though the occupation should be something within either the family business or a position that allows them to easily pursue supernatural investigation. This character needs to have been born human, but could potentially be cursed or have been transformed into some sort of supernatural being without Charlie's knowledge (such as a vampire or werewolf).

Overall, I am very open to the specifics of this ad and would be excited to discuss details with anyone who is interested!

Avior is an open lore, 3/3/3, 21+, supernatural site that takes place in the early 2000s.

Igne (fc Emma D'Arcy) is a vittra who has lived in Avior for nearly 300 years - but they are not the only nature spirit who has been in town for that long. While they often agree with other nature spirits in regards to their desire to protect Avior's forest and the people within it, they also have a withdrawn and stubborn personality that often places them at odds with other nature spirits.

This request is for a nature spirit/creature who Igne has known since their arrival in Avior and who they have had a long, complex relationship with - sometimes resembling something like friendship and other times being more antagonistic. With so much history, one would assume that Igne would reach out immediately when they made themself visible to humanity once again and opened up a farm.

However, Igne did not do that and, in retaliation, their friend/rival has decided to open up their own farm in order to compete with Igne and, more importantly, annoy Igne into interacting.

This will be a long term, slow burn plot that will eventually result in a romantic relationship, but there will be lots of history, rivalry, and stubbornness to work through.

This character's fc, gender, exact age, and what kind of farming they are doing is entirely open!

Avior is an open lore, 3/3/3, 21+, supernatural site that takes place in the early 2000s. Avior is seeking some business owners and professionals for some of their oldest establishments! These ads are all very open and have open face claims, ages, and species.

The Brown Bear Owner - Avior's oldest (and only) bar! Set inside what was originally lodging for loggers, the Brown Bear is known as the best place to get cheap drinks and enjoy great company. Perhaps the owner is just as old as the building itself - or maybe they've picked up a family business. The decision is up to you! The Brown Bear also already has an employee and a large list of regulars, so there are many plot opportunities for its owner!

The Head Librarian - Avior's Public Library has long been a center of community. The Head Librarian is known to provide educational support to anyone who's seeking it, have an excellent understanding of the town's history, and is strongly connected to Avior's Observatory and Community College.

The Morning Chickadee Owner - The Morning Chickadee is Avior's only local cafe and serves a variety of fresh pastries, coffee, and tea. Like the Brown Bear, it was also a business established early in the town's history and, while it has changed to suit the times, it's roots are deep in the community - especially among Avior locals. It also already has an employee and many regulars, so there are many plot opportunities immediately upon picking up this ad!

TW: This plot will involve references to past kidnapping by the fae and magic manipulating thoughts and emotions.

For 180 years, Liana was trapped in King Oberon's court, along with her 11 sisters. As the years went on, she gathered information about the fae and their magic and eventually built her own skills enough to successfully make her escape.

Now, she's seeking more power in an attempt to bring her sisters back into the mortal realm and to bring about the downfall of Oberon. Despite her previous problems with magical beings - like the gods and the fae - desperation drives her to make another deal in the hopes that this one might turn out better than the last.

This is a long term plot that will likely start off fairly antagonistic, but I'm open to the way it develops long term, whether it continues to be antagonistic or eventually turns into a more mutually beneficial dynamic - or some combination of both.

The only set detail of this ad is that this character must be some sort of deity or god. Otherwise, the fc, age, occupation, and this character's specific motivations are all very open.

In February of 2000, just weeks after her death, Iona Yates' body was removed from her grave to be given a second chance at life. But she didn't come back quite the same way. After her death, Iona knew that she had a family before meeting her undead sisters - Barbie and Briscia - but she couldn't recall their names or faces. All she could recall was that she was their big sister, that she had loved them, and that she wanted to see them again.

Now that she's finally feeling well enough to leave her apartment and be around Avior more frequently, it's very likely the she might run into one of her parents or siblings. What will they think of seeing their big sister back from the dead? Will they be completely caught off guard or have they suspected something might not be quite right in the months since her grave appeared to be disturbed?

Face claims and occupations are entirely open, but Iona's siblings should be between 18 and 24 and her parents should be 45 or older.

The Avior Gazette is looking for new journalists! As more strange things continue to happen around Avior, it's important that someone is around to document it all - or find a way to spin recent events to their favor. Their dynamic has not only been shaken up by recent events, but also by the arrival of a sports journalist from London. All of these ads are very open to modifications.

Editor in Chief - 45+, open fc - This is likely the oldest and most experienced person at the Gazette and they were likely born and raised in Avior. They have the final say in what gets into the paper and are a longstanding, dedicated member of the community - though whether they use that status for good or for their own purposes is up to you. I'd love for this character to sort of attempt to mentor Elian, though I think there are a variety of results that could come from that depending on the Editor's intentions. Sports Columnist - 30+, open fc - While there may be a new sports journalist in town, there has always been a dedicated sports journalist who covers games from around Michigan, but also all of the smaller events that happen in Avior itself. After spending a little too much time in Avior and around little league sports, some resentment has built up in the Sports Columnist and that has not been helped by the arrival of a new sports journalist from London.

Photographer - 20+, open fc - The earliest on in their career, the Photographer is looking to build their portfolio through this work at the Gazette. However, being trapped in town may be foiling their plans to ever leave. I imagine this character to be a little more optimistic than some of the others and think it would be fun if Elian gets the opportunity to sort of mentor them, as I imagine them to be somewhat similar.

Nolan's been living a relatively peaceful life in comparison to the centuries before, but recently there have been a few complications. One of the most significant being his developing interest in one of his coworkers at Avior's observatory. Not only does he need to decide whether to risk their friendship by pursuing something deeper with someone he admires and respects, but he also has to grapple with whether or not he wants to tell them he is a Norse God.

Following the construction of an observatory in Avior, MI, a large number of researchers have moved to the area to study local phenomena that some believe to have supernatural origins.

The Ecological Advisor is a 22+ year old character who is near the beginning of their professional career. They are considered a vital touch point between the researchers and citizens and help scout the majority of fieldwork being done by the researchers. Whether they have been an Avior citizen for their entire life or have only recently moved to the area to take on their new position is for you to determine.

The Lead Astronomer is a 40+ year old character who is at the height of their career and was incredibly important to scouting the location for the observatory. They are the one that happened upon Avior's ideal conditions and strange phenomena. They claim not to be much of a believer in the supernatural theories some of their colleagues are pursuing, though whether this is genuine disbelief or fueled by a desire to protect their own identity as a supernatural being is up to you.

The Lead Physicist is a 40+ year old character who, alongside the Lead Astronomer, was instrumental in the creation of the observatory. They likely have a history in other significant research or government-related roles and are the believer balancing the Lead Astronomer's skepticism. While they are limited in what they can say publicly, they believe something supernatural is happening in Avior and want to learn more about what might be causing it.

The founding families of Avior are a cornerstone of the local community - but with such extensive history and wealth, comes a number of secrets kept from the town and from each other. All of the fcs and ages for these characters are open. The Loggers are the oldest family and, alongside the Clarkes, established Avior. They've always had a secret from the rest of the town - their own supernatural origins. As the forest has grown stranger and it has become impossible to leave Avior, they dismiss the possibility of anything more powerful than them residing in the woods. But if they're proven wrong, they are more than prepared to take whatever power there might be for themselves.

The Artists have lived in Avior for quite some time, but for many years they viewed the town as a nice vacation away from their successful careers as artists of any sort - whether they be painters, poets, or actors, they have always found themselves at the center of attention. They have felt the call of the forest just as much as anyone else over the last several years and have chosen to settle down permanently in Avior - though whether that's because of their own supernatural origins or the innate curiosity of humanity is up to you. The Innovators are one of the newest families - second only to the Cohens - but have contributed significantly to Avior's development in the modern age. They are human, although they have grown increasingly suspicious of the strange supernatural activity around Avior. What their current feelings are about it is up to you - but no one can deny the impact they've made on Avior over the last several years.
