The Matter Of Existence, 2015
This photoset is from my soft sculpture uni work.As part of my final assessment project ‘Victim Blaming.’
These images are the most successful images of my soft sculpture work. I created these as a direct response to Rona Pondick and Sarah Lucas as I wanted to create an unsettling image that provoked thoughts of abuse and a loss of innocence as part of my rape culture project. Using ballerina slippers to make the audience think of innocencn, with ripped tights to provoke a setting of violence.
I wanted to create the atmosphere of abuse without being too direct, to give the viewer the chance to create their own feelings surrounding the images.Whilst editing these images I wanted to create a spotlight effect on them and I feel the images displayed here are more successful in conveying the affect I want to achieve, rather than displaying the sculpture as 3D pieces.

Who am I, 2015 Final drawing piece
I have been experimenting with how I can use drawing to discover something new. Usually I would create a drawing as a means of painting from, or to plan work which i would then make with another material. I want to challenge this, and create a drawing as a final piece. I will be continuing to research the theme of Self identity through drawings of the human body and portraiture.
At the start of university you are given the chance to invent yourself as a new person, and for me this created a sense of being confused and lost in a search for self identity. I want my drawings to represent this search for self identity. Researching German expressionist artists such as Edvard Munch, Emil Nolde’s prints and Chris Ofili’s figure drawings, I will look into the emotional side of a finished drawing, rather than using drawing to paint from. I want to complete an array of drawings in various sizes using mainly charcoal. Within my final drawings I want to show the whirlwind of feelings that surrounded me, represented with lots of different faces showing the different emotions.

Still Not Asking For It, 2015
Photo edits taken fromt a direct response to Bas Jan Ader and Jo Spence. I wanted to capture the sadness and anger of a rape victim within one set of photo’s, in a way that refuses the viewer to just turn away. In every day life rape is a taboo topic, only spoken about in jokes. I want to question peoples view on rape victims – why are they the ones to be punished further rather than the rapists themselves? I chose a ‘Selfie’ setting for my camera, as a ‘selfie’ would usually be taken to show the person having fun or looking good. I want people to view this ironic ‘selfie’ as an eye opener to what too many women have to go through.

The words I can't say. Photo set, 2015 Uni work year 1
I want these photos to represent a silencing of women, the way they have to act does not necessarily reflect the way they really think. The faded words in the background are the words that the girl wishes she could say, but instead it is her body in the lime light rather than her words.
