I can so get behind the feeling of nostalgia CMBYN evokes – let it be for all those firsts and the strong emotions they bring along, the simpler times when the world narrows down to a single person or, you know, missing your insane family villa with domestic workers in the midst of stunning Italian countryside.

At this present time, however, with the discrimination and polarised, inhumane policies on the rise, I'd just love to crawl into that little bubble of acceptance that is the premise of this film. People being different and equally loved and invited to the same dinner table. I don't know if we ever really had that before either, but I fucking miss those times.

On October 8th, 2018, Indiewire interviewed director Luca Guadagnino. During the interview, the topic of a sequel to his film Call Me By Your Name came up, to which Guadagnino stated “The only problem is the title. It cannot be ‘Call Me by Your Name Two.’” That day, the quote was tweeted by Indiewire's Twitter account. The tweet inspired Twitter users to come up with joke names for the sequel, like 2 Fast 2 Furious:
