awesome animals for reference
61 posts
this is just a personal blog where I catalogue animals I learn about that could make for cool references for monster designs. I'm not a biologist. Also I'm just dumpster diving through wikipedia and then looking up images online, so this blog is very prone to misinformation about the exact species and stuff. Like I said, this blog exists solely for art reference, so while I do not intend to spread misinformation about animals, it's very probable that I'll mislable something or other. Also, not sure if this needs to be said, but I'll say it, these are not pets. While I'm highlighting cool and potentially obscure animals and gushing over how cute they are, I do not condone the usage of nondomesticated species as pets. Please don't take anything that way.

Mourning doves nesting in a Saguaro cactus. Every year Mourning doves claim this spot. Not sure if it’s always the same couple.
