Doing what you can

Michael Mendel’s love for dogs goes beyond the normal. He does what even some pet owners can’t do for their own – experience their last moments. It’s traumatic, to say the least, but he does it because he doesn’t want them to die alone. He’s a shepherd to the last moments of life, and then to beyond. Nicole Tyau

Meet Rebecca Massey
Get to know local author Rebecca Massey! She’s not your average grandma. Since 2013, Rebecca has published nine books in her “Colton’s Pocket Dragon” series and more are on the way. The books, inspired by Rebecca’s grandson, will transport you to a magical land filled with “fun flying adventures”. But first, get to know the author behind the magic. As you scroll through this site, you’ll learn about Rebecca, the series, where to get the books and more. Enjoy!
The purpose of this project was to give a more well-rounded look at the “Colton’s Pocket Dragon” series. Mainly, a closer look at Rebecca Massey, the author behind the books. I achieved this by using a website to host gifs, images, video, links, text, and a timeline. I hope this piece would inspire readers to not take books or any publication just for face value. Instead, I hope they would be curious to learn the author or person behind what they see. Chloe Ranshaw

Exploring Faith

My final multimedia project began as an attempt to increase religious tolerance amongst strangers. But, it soon grew to be so much more to me in a short amount of time.
Throughout this production I’ve sought - and found - answers to some of my lifelong questions about existing, empathizing, healing, growing and understanding. If you, or anyone else you know, is asking themselves, “Where do I belong?” maybe the people featured in this video will help them find the answers they’re looking for. Lexi Hart

Let Them Bee
My final multimedia project provides a platform to educate the public on bees. It serves as a place for my long term project (Let Them Bee documentary) to live. At the same time, it features several creative visuals such as a slideshow, show text-videos, an infographic and beautiful photography. This website also features an informational article explaining the decline of the honeybee population and what’s causing it. The purpose of my project is to explore the different ways in which regular people can get involved to help the bees. Through this project, I hope to change the stigma surrounding bees from one of fear to a newfound appreciation for the work they do for us. Adriana De Alba.

ASU Law
Just over a year ago, Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law moved into a new building on the Downtown Phoenix Campus. Not many non-law students spend time there, though. So here is a look around the newest addition to ASU’s downtown footprint.

Law & Perspective

Perspective. It’s all about how you see the world around you. Letting loose five different people with five different backgrounds will produce drastically different results. The new law building is stunning - modern architecture, dramatic elements and beautiful lighting set the building apart. Here’s how I see it through my own eyes... Lexi Hart

Something about reflections

Before the new law campus was built, the lot on 2nd Street was an ugly eyesore of chainlink fence and a few satellite trucks. Now, the immense building of metal and glass shines in the Phoenix sun. And the biggest bonus? It makes for great photos! Nicole Tyau

Shelter medicine in the United States

For my final project, I’m featuring a man who plays with shelter dogs and sits with them if they’re euthanized by the shelter. As such, I wanted to use Timeline to create a history of shelter medicine and euthanasia. It mainly shows the different organizations that have formed to promote the humane treatment of shelter animals. Nicole Tyau

All Smiles
This Gif story shows some of my closest friends in their comfort zone. I tried to capture them being completely natural. If you notice, every single image contains a smiling person, almost unaware that a photograph is being captured. I captured these moments by telling them something funny as I snapped away, so their facial expressions are genuine. Adriana De Alba
