Urgent prayer request: monster storms going on currently, especially in Nebraska and now crossing into Iowa. There was a tornado emergency issued west of Omaha. For anyone not from around here: that is literally the highest severity warning the National Weather Service has for tornadoes. They don't have enough emergency responders to assist everyone. Firefighters are being dispatched from Iowa to Nebraska to help with search-and-rescue in the areas already hit. Things are very serious out here today.

something big (drama-wise) is happening at my church, and it’s going to be bad. I don’t know what it is, but it’s getting announced on Sunday. I have a small amount of vague information but know enough to be worried.

also I love the relationship between Lune & the Pevensies. 

it’s so easy to imagine that dynamic, and what must have existed between his wife and the girls. like, suddenly the winter is over and archenland can breathe again (side note: was the witch limited to narnia? c.s. lewis isn’t clear –surprise, surprise) but there are four tiny children crowned as kings and queens.

and lune is a young man himself, but he was trained to be king, and they weren’t. they are young and parentless and in need of guidance, and lune is happy to do everything he can to help them. and archenland is narnia’s fondest friend and dearest ally, and I’m getting overwhelmed imagining what that relationship must have been like. The fondness and trust and friendship between the monarchs of these two countries is so deep (after all, Lune trusts Edmund with his only son, after his firstborn was stolen, trusts him to protect him in a foreign country and bring him home again)…and lune & edmund respect each other’s guidance; edmund himself is tempered by lune’s wisdom and that must be the dynamic that was established when the pevensies first arrived in narnia. 

it’s just really great, and I’m really feeling the Lune feels.

and please pray for my young adult group, which was led by him. We will be meeting at church tomorrow and discussing things with the Lead Pastor.

Truly my best advice for a life filled with small delights is befriending a group of people who get weird about the same thing you get weird about in compatible ways so you can be weird together.

I mean do you really think. Do you really think a religion is going to survive two thousand years, multiple schisms, oppression, misuse, corruption, and still be followed by many, many people globally. Without being able to answer such basic questions as "why do bad things happen" and "what's the point of existence."

What's cool about God is that you can be a weird little freak and He will love you no matter what. Like you can be such a strange human being that others tend to avoid, but to Him you're His most precious treasure.

hi, I’m back with another prayer request.

most of you know that I have severe religious OCD. Well, I’ve been attempting therapy for it and it’s stupid hard.

but I have one question I’m asking God, and if I hear from Him on it, it will really open some doors in therapy and I might make some big progress.

please pray?

Just a semi-regular reminder that you do not have to wait until it is "that bad" in order to start pursuing recovery. You don't have to let it get worse in order to count. If it's happening to you, it counts. You matter and you don't have to put yourself through more suffering and a longer, more arduous recovery process (and more lasting damage!) in order to prove that it was bad enough. If you want to get better now, you do not have to get anybody's permission to do it. Healing can start anytime, anywhere, and you do not have to endure any worse in order to deserve better.
