This one truly took so long to paint 😭The video recording of the process took 10 sessions instead of the usual 3.

But I'm really happy with how it turned out! I've always loved the impressionist art style above all other oil painting styles, so it's been a blast studying the works of Monet and modern impressionists, and adding my own touch to the skies as well.

thinking about jason and the idea of him being a sponge and taking a lot from people around him and putting it into his own style/personality. learning thorough and extensive planning from bruce and using that in his life, taking dick's robin and tendency to mouth off and distract with talks during fights for himself and using that in his own fights, as well as the acrobatics. following talia's lead and doing less overt work like how she took over bruce's company for him and worked in the backstages which he does now, going over all of batman's teachers so he can learn the same things as he did but more lethal, letting talia set him up with teachers despite knowing it's a false pretense just to learn more and incorporate that into his own style, despite having batman's masters' teaching already. and so many other details, borrowing from heroes and people in his life and using that himself, a mix of many influences that somehow ends up make him the sum of it all

just this idea of this street kid learning early on that you learn by watching and copying, not asking questions, that you survive by being better than the others at what they do and so he does, he learns to be better at what they do, and learns all they know
