LANDSCAPE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What is your project about?
I wanted to highlight the natural landscape of the university and take a tour of the areas that I consider the most natural, starting from Aristoteles to the lagoon.
What was the most challenging aspect of your project?
Choosing a good location was the hardest part because there were a lot of natural landscapes but very few worked the way I wanted. Being able to follow a sequence was difficult and not skipping photos because I want it to look like a tour of the University.
What did you learn from it?
After taking the landscape photo, I learned to appreciate the details that often go unnoticed, the way light plays with shadows and highlights colors. I also realized the importance of composition, how each element in the frame tells a story. I also understood that an image can evoke deep emotions, connecting me with nature in an unexpected way.
What would you improve?
I want to improve my editing skills because I think I can improve a lot on my idea of framing the lake. I also want to improve my photo-taking skills and not have to edit too much so that people can quickly understand my idea.

Documentary project
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Risk Assessment: I took many risks during this strike because there were many people who were angry about the power cuts and lack of water. Police tried to stop us by force, with blows, insults, pushes, there were many people who fell, children, girls crying and older adults who were fighting for justice in Ecuador.
(1) What is your project about? My project is about the strike against water and electricity cuts on November 21. My project topic is fighting for a fair Ecuador.
(2) What was the most challenging thing about it?
I had many challenges because it was a big risk because I could get hit or fall.
(3) What did you learn from it?
I learned that if we fight together, we can make a change in our country. If one person is not listened to, many people can listen to us and make people and the country change.
(4) Of all the things we’ve covered this semester, which have you enjoyed the most and / or would like to learn more about?
I would like to learn more about landscapes, make and see all kinds of landscapes, because I love nature and I think it has a lot to offer us.
(5) Which genre (or mixture of genres) do you think you’ll end up choosing for your final project?
I think I would choose the landscape and the portraiture, because I think that the union of both can leave a good result.

Mapping the Invisible
Tumblr media
When I enter the University Coliseum, there is a sense of competitiveness, I see the participants who have a lot of energy, we are all shining like the rays of the sun to start the competition. I see my rivals as if they were my friends and enemies. All audience screams with euphoria, we are all smelling, feeling and seeing the same thing. I see many shadows and dragons , while I hear screams from everywhere, these deafening screams take me with energy like a battery, I am very eager to start the tournament and see how far I can go.
Tumblr media
To start the table tennis tournament, I join my group, I feel like a gladiator who must fight against other people, we give each other words of encouragement, we make some game strategies so as not to lose the matches. We feel the tables, the floor and the rackets as if they were a part of our body, I feel them as if they were an extension of me. I focus on winning and I don't think about the shadows around me.
Tumblr media
I start my first match, and I imagine that I am fighting against a dragon, which I have to cross with my racket, I have to destroy the dragon. This enemy is very difficult to beat, but I do everything I can to be victorious and so that my friends can have a good position in the tournament. The dragon is giving me a hard fight, I am soaked as if I had just come out of a river, but I do everything I can to be able to cross this barrier that the dragon is putting in front of me. My arms and legs are dead but I must continue fighting against everything.
Tumblr media
In my other matches I keep playing, I'm hurt from losing some matches, but my friends encourage me to keep fighting, they also join in fighting against other dragons so we can advance equally. We are all fighting with a common goal to reach the goal, continue destroying dragons and be able to fight together. All our limbs are shattered, our breathing and that of the shadows and dragons can be heard throughout the coliseum. We are losing against the dragons and shadows, this is our last breath before reaching the end and knowing what will happen to my team.
Tumblr media
When we got to the end of the fight, the dragons and the shadows win, our limbs were dead from fighting so much, my battle cuple and I are resting after fighting against everyone. We could not reach our proposed goal. We feel sad but happy to know that we can fight against dragons and shadows stronger than us. The same thing happens in real life, even if we are broken and unable to breathe, we must fight until the end, no matter what the world says about you, with good friends and good relationships, everything in life is possible. And so our fight ends, we could not win but we gave our best.

Interdisciplinary Jam
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is a lively atmosphere pulsating with moving bodies. The way their bodies twist and their movements are so magical that they draw you in. The harmony their actions bring about is like being in heaven. The rhythm is something I have never heard before but it is something I feel deep within my soul. Meanwhile, others are immersed in a dance of their own, alongside them are artists working passionately with pencils that scratch the paper forcefully and draw each movement. Each movement creates a figure, a being that emerges from nowhere. The music slides in fluid lines, like a stream of consciousness. Everything is connected, in a symphony of movement and creation.

PORTRAITURE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Natural beauty is not something that can be easily defined. It is not about perfection, but about the honesty and authenticity that a person reflects. True beauty lies in the story that a face tells, in the lines that time has drawn and in the look that speaks of lived experiences. As Lindbergh mentions in a world dominated by retouching and filters, Lindbergh captures the human essence, showing women as they are, without embellishment, without the pressure to fit into an ideal of perfection.

PORTRAITURE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
An eighty-year-old grandmother with a look that reflects the sweetness of her years of experience. Her face is soft and full of wrinkles that tell the stories of a full and well-lived life. Her cheeks, although slightly sunken, show a slight blush from a constant smile. The deep dark circles under her eyes reveal that she has smiled and laughed many times throughout her life. Her eyes, perhaps a little clouded by the passage of time, shine with a warmth and wisdom that only a grandmother can transmit.
Her hair, completely gray, is fine and thinner with age. She usually gathers it in a soft bun or perhaps leaves it loose, falling in soft waves over her shoulders or the nape of her neck. She is tired and slightly hunched by the weight of her years. Her movements are slow and careful, her rough hands brush my shoulder, and one perceives in them a grace acquired through the practice of a thousand daily tasks, such as knitting, cooking or caring for her grandchildren. Her hands, though a little shaky, are strong and dexterous. Her presence is like watching a sunset that is about to fade, but with a wonderful glow, her long, slender fingers slightly bent by arthritis, but still able to thread a needle or hold a cup of tea gracefully.
Her voice is soft and calm, with a slight roughness that betrays the years. Every word she speaks is full of love and understanding. When she speaks to me, she does so calmly, unhurriedly, choosing her words carefully. There is a melodic tone to her voice. The tone of her voice is like a caress for the soul, always comforting and full of wisdom. At this moment, the same voice becomes a little rougher and she gives me important advice that reminds me of the family traditions that are very important to her.
She always wears comfortable clothes and her shoes are practical, designed to give her the support she needs, but do not take away from her elegance. As she walks with those shoes and her delicate legs, she slowly walks away to admire the sunset, telling me to follow her to see them together and share a moment. With her there is always peace and I feel a great love in the room. Every day with her there is a lot of love.
When I look at her, the image she projects is that of a person who, although physically more delicate, radiates inner strength, love and a deep sense of belonging to her family. She is, without a doubt, the warm heart of my home, she is my grandmother Maria Juana.

LANDSCAPE
Tumblr media
What is your project about?
I wanted to highlight the natural landscape, that is, that the surrounding trees are like a vignette to highlight the lake and the small stone construction.
What was the most challenging aspect of your project?
Being able to choose a good place was the most difficult because there were many natural landscapes but very few worked as I wanted, and it was also difficult to try to framing the lake with the trees.

LANDSCAPE
The last ray of light spreads across the sky like a soft blanket that stretches over the world, covering everything in golden and slightly yellow hues. The sun sets slowly, as if hesitant to abandon the day, but ready to surrender to the silent embrace of evening. The clouds are scattered as if on a canvas of sky, catching the fading light, shining softly, as if they were whispers of color in a silent conversation between earth and sky. Little by little, the golds of the sky fade in a soft gradient, blending the boundaries between light and dark, like the transition between wakefulness and peaceful sleep. The distant horizon seems to melt into a mirror reflecting the last lingering rays of daylight. It feels as if time itself is slowing down, stretching each second into eternity, offering a serene pause. Sunset is like the closing of the eyes, announcing the end of a long day, but there is no sadness in its departure, only a gentle and comforting acceptance, like the silent sigh of someone who has found peace. Evening envelops us like a familiar friend, bringing with it a sense of calm, as if the world has expired, releasing the weight of the day and welcoming the calm that follows.
2. At first, sunset seemed a familiar and peaceful moment. I saw it as the end of the day, a sign that night was coming, nothing more. It was easy to miss, blending into the routine of life. Golden colors would appear in the sky, but it was just background noise, something that happened every day without anyone noticing. But lately, I’ve started to see sunset differently. It’s not just about the light fading or the coming of night. It’s a pause, a reminder to slow down, breathe, and take a moment to appreciate the beauty before me. The way the sun dips below the horizon now feels like a silent sign to let go of whatever the day has been, whether it was stressful, busy, or uneventful. I noticed that the colors seemed to linger, that the sky was in no hurry to darken, and that this slowness brought a strange sense of peace. Sunset became a peaceful ending, not a time to rush, but a time to stop and observe. It was as if my mind was turning on and for those few minutes I could let everything else fade away. The sky no longer simply marked time, but offered me a sense of calm and reflection that I had not previously enjoyed. Now, I looked forward to this moment every day.

FREEZE MOTION
Frozen motion captures an object in clear, sharp detail, as if time has paused. This technique is perfect for freezing fast action in daily life. For example, photographing a child jumping into a pool, with every droplet of water suspended in the air. If you are using a fast shutter speed you can freeze that moment. You might also capture a bird mid-flight, wings outstretched and frozen in the sky. These moments, often too quick for the human eye, are made visible in perfect clarity through photography techniques that stop motion.
BLURRED MOTION
Blurred motion is a creative effect used to emphasize speed or movement. In daily life, think of cars rushing past on a highway. When photographed with a slower shutter speed, the cars appear blurred while stationary objects, like streetlights, remain in focus. Another example could be a person dancing or spinning. The blurred edges of their body convey their fast movement. This technique is often used to add dynamism and energy to photos, showing how time passes and how objects move within a scene.
DEPTH OF FIELD
Depth of field isolates the subject by making everything in the background or foreground blurred. In daily life, this is useful for portraits, like focusing on a person’s face while the busy street behind them fades into a soft blur. It’s also seen when photographing flowers in a garden, where only one bloom stands out in sharp detail while the rest dissolve into soft, colorful shapes. This technique directs the viewer’s attention to the subject, creating a clean and focused composition.
The first difficulty I had when taking photos was that I didn't know these elements, all the photos I took didn't seem to correspond to the techniques. Some problems were like choosing a good place to take the photos, each photo I took looked alike and I couldn't identify very well which technique I used, but after taking so many photos I began to understand how the techniques work. At the time of writing I did not know what the topics were about, so I had to do a lot of research to learn about the topic, look at photos and watch videos to find out what the photos are like or what activities can be applied to the topics.

Immersive Word-Pictures
Dear Mom,
Now that we are in this big room that every minute becomes more orange with the sunset, I want to tell you a few things about our memories and experiences that we have had.   In this room I can see a t-shirt that you bought me when we went on a trip with our whole family. This makes me feel very happy because I really wanted this t-shirt and you and my dad bought it for me. It's an orange t-shirt like this sunset that we are watching.
I also see a soccer ball that my dad bought me, although you didn't buy it for me I have many memories with you because you were the one who played with me the most time because my dad worked a lot and we didn't usually play much, we went out to the park to play until the sunset.
Finally  I also see a computer, in which I see a grade that allowed me to enter the USFQ, I remember tears of happiness, sadness, screams of excitement and congratulations.
In this big room I don't feel alone, I feel accompanied by being with you. Despite how big this is, I can hear how we're talking, laughing, shouting, crying about all the things we've been through. When I look out the window, I see the sunset and animals running and I imagine the sound of each one of them, with our conversation we make this room not feel empty.  I can smell a birthday cake, it brings back memories of my childhood when I spent time with my family, it reminds me of the gifts, friends and neighbors, and I remember everyone's smiles. This makes me happy.
The floor has a land and grass texture, it brings back memories of my childhood when I played with my friends on the land. I would sleep on the grass for many hours and roll around with my friends and my dog.
It is a cold environment, but I like it because it reminds me of my countryside, I like the cold weather, this reminds me of my childhood because all my life I lived in this environment of trees, rain and cold seeing the snow-capped mountains with my whole family.
