âYou really think Iâve had a girlfriend before?â
Teagan shifted around a little more when he brought her in closer, âNow this.â She couldnât help but glance up at Axel a little curiously, âHave you had one before?â

Axel hesitantly wrapped an arm around Traganâs shoulders, pulling her in closer, âWeird doesnât even begin to describe it. I canât remember when I even used the g-word last.â He cleared his throat. âGirlfriend. And now this.â
Teaganâs lips curved up into a small smile, sitting up straight as she looked over towards him, âI guess I love you, too, Axel.â Shifting herself around, she went to lean her head against his shoulder. âShit, that does feel weird to say.â

Axel sat there for a couple of minutes, completely silent. But he wasnât lost in his thoughts at all. In fact, there was only one thing in his mind. It was just working up the courage to say it again. With a sigh and a small smile, he glanced over towards Teagan, âI guess I love you, Teagan.â
âI didnât think Iâd wanna hear it, either, but then⊠I dunno. Things changed. I felt differently.â Teagan nodded her head once before lying back on the couch, reaching for her phone to scroll through as she waited.

âItâs just something I never thought youâd want to hear. Fuck, itâs something IÂ never wanted to hear, let alone feel. Just-- Let me think for a sec, yeah?â
Teagan crossed her arms over her chest as she looked at him, âWhat the fuckâs wrong with you? First you say it, then you forget you said it, and now youâre not even trying to embrace it or anything. Whatâs pretending it never happened going to do? Itâs kind of making me fucking glad I didnât say it first, Jesus Christ.â

âUuuuh.â Was all Axel could say, not mustering up any courage whatsoever. âSo, I should probably go jump off a bridge now.â
âNope, youâre going. I need to speak to my moronic, apparently-full-of-love boyfriend alone. Now go the fuck away.â Teagan shut her laptop before just staring at Axel.Â

âUhhhh. You can stay. Fucking stay.â Axel spoke quickly, pathetically attempting to stay off of the subject altogether as he focused his attention back on the laptop.
Teagan stared at Axel and shook her head, snorting. âWhat a damn profound confession of love. Jesus Christ.â

âWhat?â Axel, still lost, crossed his arms across his chest, âDid I say what-- Oh. Shit.â
Teagan just stared at Axel, her brows furrowed, âWhat the fuck did you just say to me?â

Axel clearly didnât know what was going on and rose his eyebrows, confused by it all, âThe fuck are you all being weird about?â
Teagan pulled a face at Sparke, shaking her head, âGod, thatâs disgusting.â She was typing up a few final things for the application when she heard what Axel had said. Glancing over at him, she narrowed her eyes, âWhat the fuck?â

Axel snorted, growing nauseated at how sweet Sparke were being with each other, âI donât act that way âcuz I love you.â He shook his head, focusing back onto his application. He gave it that nod of approval. âDone, I guess.â
âIâm just helping him, Jesus Christ. Itâs not like Iâm calling him an A+ student who spends his time volunteering to help the homeless or some shit. Iâm just trying to write about him in a way that wonât make colleges reject him on the spot, alright? So chill the fuck out.â

âCan you two fuckinâ leave or somethinâ? Iâm not havinâ it with your nerd talk. Not today, Spence. Not fuckinâ today.â Axel crossed his arms and read the screen. I mean, he skimmed. Not read. âWhat you have looks ace to me, though.â
âChill the fuck out.â Teagan rolled her eyes once more before snorting, shaking her head at Axel. âI mean, schools donât love anything more than hearing that shit. Maybe you should just write that and weâll call it a day.â She typed a little more, trying to make it sound the most Axel-like but also a little bit professional.Â

âThe more you two talk, the more I wish English wasnât my first language.â Axel pulled yet another face, this time at both Spencer and Clarke. He decided to ignore them and looked over the stuff Teagan had typed up for him and nodded his head in approval, âI mean, sounds a whole lot better than I fuckinâ hate school and I donât know how Iâm going to pay for this shit, anyways. So good job, I guess. Thanks.â
Teagan rolled her eyes and let out a small sigh, going to type a few sentences in one of the little answer boxes for him. She glanced over at Axel, wanting to get his approval, ââKay, does that define you well enough?â

âOkay, but hereâs a thought. How about no?â Axelâs brows were furrowed together and as much as he wanted to complete this shit, he wasnât having any of this âdo it on your ownâ crap. He sucked with his words and were convinced the final product would look like something a toddler threw together during arts and crafts time in Pre-School. âWhen I donât get in, Iâm blaminâ it on all of you.â
âMaybe you shouldâve. Itâd make this shit ten times easier for you.â Teagan shook her head at him, taking the laptop onto her lap anyways so she could help him out. âIâm not doing it for you, babe. How about you answer the questions in your own words and Iâll make it sound more academic for you? That way itâs still your own thoughts.â

âWell I didnât have my lips attached to any of my teacherâs asses like somebody else here.â Axel pulled a face at Clarke, tapping his fingers against the keyboard as he tried to figure it out. âCanât you do it for me, babe? Youâre better with your words than anyone I know.â
âYeah, probably at least one good one. Do you have anybody in mind who could be one? If not, weâll figure something out.â Teagan tapped her fingers on her lap as she glanced through the application as well.

âDo I need, like, recommendation shit?â Axel scratched the back of his head, beginning to look over the application. It didnât look all that confusing and that surprised him, really.
âI was almost expecting you to put up one hell of a fight there. Iâm a little bit impressed, babe.â Teagan opened up the application on her laptop so he could see it. âThose come towards the end. Like, after youâve been accepted. You have to do the personal statements and shit first.â

âFine, I guess.â Axel shrugged his shoulders. Actually going through with this application process would be better than giving up... like he always did. He rolled his eyes at the thought and then sat there with his arms crossed. âSo, what? Classes first?â
âAnd youâre only gonna get to learn about the environment wild animals are living in if you apply. Come on, the deadlineâs coming up soon and youâre going to miss it if you keep putting it off. Itâs not that hard of an application, either.â
