No, I don't think so; it's more likely he will use tariffs and sanctions and such. He might put people on the ground for awhile. I'd say it's all just a bargaining move to secure free or preferential use of the canal for the U.S., as I don't think he has any other interest in the region of Panama itself. Trump is simply negotiating deals: it's what he does every day of his life and does better than anyone else.
