Character File #003: BunBun - Iteration 1

Pibby's student, and one of the most frequent characters to appear in the series, aside from Pibby herself. He serves as a character that the viewer would most likely see themself as IF a) they're a preschooler and b) they're a fan of the show.

He was one of the last characters that were claimed and put under control by the D4RKN355 waves, due to him initially escaping the waves along with Pibby. In a moment of weakness, however, he ends up falling under control.

I'd have to look through my files to find what he looks like under the influence of the D4RKN355 waves.

Character File #002: Pibby - Iteration 1

Pibby, the titular character of Learning with Pibby. She serves as a teacher to BunBun, though she's still learning alongside him. She's also the kid that Sam has one-sided beef with. In fact, Pibby's the one to lead the "Sam, go away!" chant that serves to dispel him.

Somehow, she (alongside Sam) managed to evade the influence of the D4RKN355 waves, and hops from universe from universe. This specific appearance, however, only appears within her own home world, since she gets rather roughed up once she begins interacting with those under the influence of the D4RKN355.

Due to how much she changes over her journey in both personality and appearance, it feels unfair to lump all of the different versions of Pibby together. While I have this noted as "Iteration 1", it's more accurate to refer to this Pibby as "Pre-D4RKN355" Pibby.

Honestly, it's a miracle that she even managed to escape. Although, I'm still trying to figure out what Pibby, Sam, and the other survivors have in common to cause them to be immune to the effects. And unfortunately, I don't have time to do deep dives.

Entity File #001: D4RKN355 Waves

I feel the need to define what D4RKN355 waves are, as they are the reason this whole mess occurred. An understanding of what these are is basically necessary to know why this is even happening.

Plus, it'll instantly make you better than my boss, who still doesn't understand how they work.

While internally they are referred to as D5 waves, I refer to them as "D4RKN355" waves due to how they impact the media that is broadcast through them. D4RKN355 waves, when utilized on TV programming, generate effects that previously could only be done as CGI. As a result, it was previously agreed upon that D4RKN355 waves should be utilized for live action shows only, as those were the only shows that D4RKN355 waves had been tested on.

When it became obvious that D4RKN355 waves were more effective to broadcast shows to remote areas than typical waves, my boss tried to push for them to be used in remote areas, even on animated productions. Thankfully, I managed to convince him to let me test the waves on some shows in a controlled environment before releasing them to the public.

And the results...were damning. All of them had characters acting differently, and even gave them the ability to release those waves if they so chose to get other characters to seemingly be part of a hive mind. Other characters would either revert back to their first design or lose aspects of their design. There were even some crossovers that couldn't happen otherwise.

Hell, I almost lost myself to those waves. At least my boss walked in before it was too late. Despite everything, however, he still insisted on releasing these waves to the public.

He says he's gonna start using the waves for broadcasts starting with the 200th episode of Learning with Pibby. According to the TV Guide, this is a double-length special episode (20 minutes instead of the typical 10 minutes) to celebrate this milestone.

...but why start with this show specifically?

Character File #001: Sam Aeschtray

Spotted within the universe of the show known as Learning with Pibby. Although, interestingly enough, he is not supposed to be here, as his home universe is referred to as a location noted down as "Replicum". While many have tried to figure out what this may mean, not many have been able to.

Within Learning with Pibby, Sam is seen playing a more antagonistic role. When he first appeared, he had managed to get Pibby to accept something that straight up didn't work. Afterward, though, Pibby figured out that the best way to ward him off is by having her, BunBun, and the viewer say "Sam, go away!" three times in a row. Whether this is due to logic in the show forcing him to stop or if he willingly stops is currently unknown.

From reports that have been found, Sam's methods are usually a lot more violent. So why head to the world of a preschool show, where violence can't be done? Could this be connected to why he's typically the only character in the show who's shaded?

More observation is needed to be able to properly draw conclusions, although my boss has noted to avoid impacting Sam when we begin utilizing D4RKN355 waves during broadcasts. Just another sign of my boss not understanding how D4RKN355 waves work.

Because if my test broadcasts on various private networks taught me anything, once they begin getting used, I cannot control them anymore.

Welcome to Axis Nexus!

This is the blog where I (@ash-plavell) will be posting content relating to an AU that's been cooking in my mind!

Based on the concept of Learning with Pibby by Dodge Greenley, throwing my OCs into the mix, and letting my mind take the wheel to see where this will end up going? Yeah, that's basically Axis Nexus in a nutshell.

However, unlike other Learning with Pibby AUs that I've seen, instead of following Pibby as the main character, we'll be following my OC Sam Aeschtray! Honestly, I think his perspective will be a lot more interesting for this AU.

The blog is still a work in progress, so please forgive me if anything appears weird! I'm trying my best! :]
