          “Maybe I was thinking you had the wrong address. Or were looking for, well, Thea and I aren’t together anymore so if you’re looking for her, try elsewhere.” The handful of times they spoke didn’t warrant Clark to completely shut the other out, both of them more alike than he’d like to admit. 

                 “Oh my God,” Alexander breathed out, the feigned shock weighing on his tongue. The idea of marriage became a bargain in Red Creek, therefore the dismantle of their union was plausible to many. “It could be worse. Imagine if there were children involved,” the tetra proclaimed, finding their demise not one to feel grief-stricken. “I’ll trade you a solid confession; I finally stopped sleeping with Lyssa Deveraux. You know what they say, though —- a drink to ease the pain.” Surreptitiously, he proposed that to rid Clark of any impending misery, withdrawing an unopened bottle of Paul Masson Brandy from the breast of his jacket. “How about a few glasses before the night ends?”

                    “How many times do I have to come around before I get a response?” Alexander’s rang doorbells —- attempted to appear at Clark’s favorite bar establishments yet failed to generation the physical aura of his presence. “I’m a tetra, Roschell; I may be immune to vampire and werewolf blood, but it’s not like I can scent you, unless you’re one of mine, of course.”      /      @giiawriites​

BETHANY HARRISON:

          The ophidian offered what could be misconstrued as a mock chuckle, lip curling up in near disgust at those who came to throw their livelihoods away for the intoxicant. It had been over a century since she had divulged in the activity, having been poisoned at a speakeasy to transform her into the serpentine creature. It had transmogrified her entire life, down to her very identity, rattling her akin to a bird in a cage. She was prey, transitioned to predator, though nowadays she found herself more like a wounded lamb all over again; vying for an escape. Beth could only hope her escape was in the man before her, an ample replacement for her to slip away from the Ouroboros in an effortless symphony. She could only hope. “I’m not keen on them,” she mused plainly, eyes flitting across the room before landing on his waxen countenance once more, “Perhaps a dance? They’ve got Sinatra on the jukebox.” 

                   The desire to properly socialize diminished the more Alexander adapted to the cultural expectations of his species. His safe haven when choosing to step out of his community will always be an alcoholic establishment. Due to the lack of judgement when around others who find stability in drinking, the ambiance remained comfortably balanced. “I’m really awful at that,” he spoke insouciantly, frequently opting to gaze at the basketball game’s commotion which loudly stemmed from the bar’s television. His expression further expressed distaste at the mere thought of dancing.. the act of him gyrating without an ounce of skill setting him up for pure embarrassment. “I mean, we never crossed paths before - I’d like to assume so, anyway.” Preferring to offer a proposition, the dark haired male delved, “How about just talking?” It’s the most he could suggest without feeling perturbed, lingering on the buzz of his beverage. “People don’t talk nowadays. I’d like that more than dancing.”

          Bethany was bound to the Ouroboros for decades, a means for survival blossoming into a ravaging scourge that devoured every inch of her free will. Recently, she figured herself as a pawn to their end rather than a player of value and with that she vied for a replacement. She had noticed the shimmer on waxen flesh first, tailing them for weeks before confirming the impossibility that they too were like her, casually slipping up next to them at their local drinking spot. “I thought they long lost the ingredients to torture poor souls into infamy.” She paused, figuring the other would recoil at any mention of their transmogrified identity, “You know they make fantastic concealer nowadays.” 

                 The city smoothed over the lines of solitude rather than mayhem, lessening Alexander’s horror of harm coming his way. The dark haired male’s main comfort continued to rely on the consumption of alcohol, with this local establishment’s obliviousness of his true form continuing to persist, pleasing him despite heavy risks. He acknowledged the woman’s words, however remained quiet, fiddling with the rim of his rocks glass. Thoughts scrimmaged to evoke a few sentences, mellowed by the remnants of alcohol resting on the corner of his mouth. “I thought the purpose of a bar was to escape.” Alexander favored the stillness that settled in the atmosphere prior to her arrival, yet remained civil for the sake of not wanting them both in a troubling predicament. Her appearance remained unseen before, nonetheless; the woman’s demeanor might be proved as someone new to the local community, although he accepted the chances of being utterly wrong. As his knuckles brushed against the bar’s wooden counter, his eyes gleamed for another drink, respectfully inquiring, “Want a shot?”

BECKETT ABRAMS:

          “Gosh, you seem fairly open about that.” A mild chuckle stumbled from the tetra, nerves always rampant, especially around one who was so ostentatious about what they were. Beckett shouldn’t have been too surprised, however, Red Creek residents never too confidential about their roots. Beckett attempted to speak with the other tetra on several occasions, though his cowardice always struck forth, another feeble attempt in the works as of now, “So, should we escape the madness and go swimming in your lake this time around?” Brows raised at his own attempt of humor, recalling one of the first times they met; in a lake of all places. 

                “Now that you’re here..” Beckett’s absence was felt in spite of the two only having a formal introduction briefly. Unlike the other species of Red Creek, the dynamic of tetras thrived off of intimacy, and most of it was due to their admiration for land and sea. The slyly malicious behavior of vampires, werewolves, and even witches simply was not tolerated in the deserted, compact community of tetras, and that thrilled Alexander for the greater good. “Long time no see, Beckett. Sea, ha. I’d like to congratulate you on missing the whirlwind of bullshit Red Creek dealt with for the past several years, but thankfully, all has calmed down.” Temporarily, at least; the sporadic nature of Red Creek never ceased to amaze the elder male. Slender digits removed his shirt within seconds, exhibiting his sculpted frame’s blank canvas, broadly smiling with a hint of excitement at the idea of exploring the salty still water. “Drinks afterwards? I have some shacked up in a shed; I like to make myself prepared for when guests come around.”

                         “Winter in Red Creek has always been eventful.” Curmudgeonly residents bicker about the wintry landscape and produce becomes scare. The tetras admired the cold more than suffering through scorching, summery temperatures. The frigid atmosphere left additional activities to do for their community, invigorating them. Alexander suspired, vacantly looking at the ice covered ground, “Moments like this I feel thankful that I don’t age.” Although he despised the lack of consent on transitioning from hunter to tetra during his adult years, lingering onto what happened years ago rather than alleviating the emotional turmoil held no purpose. “There’s also because the fuckery in Red Creek is away from where I live.     /         @giiawriites​
