Ayame braced herself before entering the room; Romeo had only barely allowed her by when she presented her presented basket of "goodies" for inspection. Taiga wasn't feeling well, hadn't been well in days, and even Romeo couldn't convince him to eat real food.

She knocked on the door, and frowned upon finding it unlocked. "Taiga?" Where was he?

The sounds came from the bathroom, and she sighed when she saw him. "There you are! I came to bring you some medicine and stuff..."

His memory troubles came to mind, and she scrambles mentally for a moment. She mews, like a small kitten, "Don't panic, it's me! Kitten? It's Ayame..."

A wave of nausea hit him like a bullet.

Taiga braced himself against the bathroom's doorframe. He hadn't left his room much at all this week. Not to gamble in the casino--he'd been using gambling apps to scratch that itch (although, it fucking sucked)--and hadn't tasted the salty, coppery blood of an anomaly longer than usual. It didn't help that he only ate whatever cheap junk food he had tossed here and there around the room. Later.

Later, he'd go out and make it all right again.

Whatever 'right' was anymore.

Ayame hesitates only a moment before reaching up and wiping at Taiga's mouth with a handkerchief, "I'm glad to have your approval, then." She presses a single kiss to the corner of his lips.

"Who I ship you with...?" Ayame giggles sheepishly, "would it be too forward to say myself and Romeo?"

Ayame getting comfortable enough with Romeo that one day while delivering paperwork she just out of the blue asks "Will you be sad? When I die, I mean? Or...when I become a kyklos, that is?"

Romeo just stares at her. Taiga's in the background laughing, teasing her about having already thought about this and she just shrugs, remarking that it's incredibly relevant to her so why not?

Romeo shifts uncomfortably and resolutely announces that no he won't be sad, he doesn't have tears to shed for some BB who was only here for a year and didn't leave any impression upon anyone anyways.

"Ah, I understand. I hope I didn't bother you any, then."

After she leaves Romeo just sort of excuses himself from the public for a while. He's not sad. He's busy. He knew her time was limited, and growing more and more limited by the day. He knew his time with her was short. It doesn't matter. She doesn't matter.

He's only drinking right now because his job is stressful. If you see anything on his face, it's stress. He wouldn't miss her, he swears. And he's only mad at her for bringing the subject up because it was unprofessional and irrelevant.

That's...

that's all.

It was inevitable, so he has no reason to be sad about it, right?

There's been this talk about a student who has been cursed by the Kyklos. It is one of the rare curses he's never seen but wanted to find out. So far, it's a poor victim and only has less than a year - stated by his friend. It wasn't hard to search up the Honor student.

"Excuse me, Miss... Do you have a moment?" A man wearing a mask said in a friendly tone, just to make sure he doesn't frighten the poor girl. He's friendly, he swears.

Ayame squeaks when she's picked up, her eyes glued to his face. She doesn't know why, of all people, he'd choose her. But he did. And she can't help but snuggling up against him happily. Even in school, when they took school trips, no one ever wanted to share a bed with her or even next to her. Yet here's Haku, holding her tightly, lovingly.

She almost doesn't know how to form words anymore, the only response she can manage is to press a kiss to his lips. She gets to kiss him now, and when they wake up, and tomorrow, and maybe forever. "Anywhere you want is fine..." She snuggles in against him, tucking her head under his chin. It's so comfortable here, she fits against him so perfectly, like she was meant to be here all along.

She yawns softly, "Love you, Haku~...."

Haku sends through a text message reading: 'Hey Ayame. Are you free tomorrow? I have a permit to go off-campus if you'd like to try that date.'

Ayame can't help it, her whole face goes red when she reads the text message. She hugs her pillow and rolls about on her bed with squeals and overwhelmed giggles. It wasn't a dream, Haku asked her out. And he's re-stated it again!

She finally picks up the phone, steadying her breathing and trembling hands.

[Absolutely, Haku-kun! I'd love to! I can't wait!]

Ayame sets up a whiteboard, "Today I'm gonna ramble about Knight Saber Saint Knight." She tapes a bunch of pictures to the whiteboard and scribbles on the board as she talks.

"So the land of Lonloria was in a state of chaos, until a nun pure of heart prayed to the heavens for the power to guide mankind back to order. Not to be fixed, but to give her the power and strength to help her fellow man. The heavens granted her the Knight Saber and she became known as the first Saint Knight, beacon of purity and goodness."

She points to a picture of a statue from the games.

"The Saint Knight lived her life and passed the Knight Saber to her pupil and so it remained for several generations until the forces of Chaos conspired to destroy the Saint Knight and she was murdered in cold blood. The Knight Saber disappeared that night, and the world was plunged back into darkness and lawlessness."

Ayame draws a frowny face.

"By the time the first game starts, the Knight Saber has been missing and there has not been a Saint Knight in almost three hundred years, many people believe she's a myth. Then a purehearted teacher named Lilly is trapped between her young students and the forces of Chaos and she prays for the power to protect them, and the Knight Saber appears, transforming her into the first Saint Knight in three centuries! But the forces of Chaos will not stand for this! They've almost conquered the world and only the Saint Knight, Saint Lilly, now stands in their way!"

Ayame grins, "so that's the main plot line. Any questions?"
