im kind of hopelessly in love. so much so that every part of my being desires to speak of it to everyone

i feel like tumblr has always had pretty terrible discourse in so many places about so many different things. but in recent years, i swear to god, its gotten so much worse. i see so many "well actually" type posts that go on to explain that something ethically or morally dubious or outright bad is okay and healthy and totally normal and common because of, usually, farfetched reasons.

but so many of these things arent actually healthy, nor at they normal, and hardly ever are they as common as they say. its just OP trying to absolve themselves of something they have acknowledged to themselves is something they probably shouldnt do. but instead of stopping, or hell, even having the guts to say "yeah you know what, i do this thing. i recognize other people dont like it or have pointed it out as being unhealthy, so i wont subject them to it or tell them to do this or that and instead stay in my lane." its "actually ive judged myself and everything ive ever done is good so if you dont like this, YOURE the bad person. and if you also dont do this thing/think the same as me, youre evil."

it actually outright blows my mind that people think this way. that people refuse to take accountability or refuse to accept the reality that not everyone is going to think every choice theyve ever made is "good"

theres this post on twitter thats trendin about a bf having some cute words for his gf, and the internet is in an uproar about it. and its genuinely so heartbreaking to me to see the amount of women in relationships with men who have never had that level of love or care.
