One real benefit of reading I rarely hear anybody mention is how much more interesting life becomes when you read a lot. It depends what you’re reading, of course, but most (good) books will teach you something you didn’t already know, and even if you have to give the book back to the library, you get to take that much with you. A lot of people talk about things they wish they’d studied in school–I’ve done it, too–but it’s a nice consolation prize that you can always pick up a book and learn something new. And as that library in your brain collects more volumes, everything around you gains new resonances, new context, and new connections which make your lived experience richer. In quarantine alone I’ve read about religion and politics and history and evolution and computer science and astrophysics without even leaving my house and it’s already a more interesting world.

Being a kid was so fucking funny we’d just go around lying to each other’s faces constantly to impress each other one of my classmates told me he was the first person to visit the sun and when I asked him what it was like to prove he was lying he said he didn’t remember because they sent him there when he was just a baby and to this day the mental image of NASA launching an unsupervised baby into the sun still makes me crack up

reading about random things. educating yourself on cultures that died ages ago. excitement in learning new languages. having a cup of hot coffee/tea on a rainy sunday morning. staying up late to finish reading that one book. quoting shakespeare for no specific reason. listening to slow music while doing school work. singing your favorite song off key when no one is watching. smiling at animals. wearing clothes that makes you feel comfortable. laying on bed after a long tiring day. late night drives on empty roads. complimenting strangers. helping an elderly person to cross the road. hugging your best friend. smell of earth after rain. making others laugh. holding hands.

Starting with this one.🍃 Cecelia has a unique way of grasping the readers attention. I feel it's the mysterious parts she keeps pushing away to be read in the latter part of the book.

I'm probably gonna kill myself. I don't know what else to do.
don’t kill yourself now, tomorrow, tonight, or in anytime because you are worth living with thousands of reasons to be happy, i feel bad for you in what you’ve been through but trust me these thoughts are going to fade away sooner, i love you, people around you loves you and they do appreciate you no matter what. please stay strong because there are plenty reasons to live and i’ll just list you as many as i can okay?
you have forever to be dead
for that comforting feeling when a cat finally allows you to pick them up and sticks by your side
life can be beautiful
everything will balance out
new music
books you can’t put down
theres still so much to discover
you are needed
sleep food
a hot cup of tea
how awesome it feels when class gets cancelled
kittens
hearing a song that has been stuck in your head all day
the smell of cookies in the oven
when your parents are proud of you
when your favourite song comes on the radio
there are beautiful places to see
bucket lists to complete
rules to break
art to see & create
to fade your scars
to find something you believe in
to help someone
falling asleep to rain
smiling at strangers
7 billion people you haven’t met yet

Quote
Any dream can become a reality if only you accept the hard work. It is very rare, extremely rare in fact, that success will be handed out on a plate with a ‘free for all’ sign, those who put in the hours are the ones who earn the dreams. Stop telling yourself you’ll work harder tomorrow, that you will work more as of Monday or that you will when you have the time. Dreams only come slow if you work slow, put in the hours and see the results. You can be anything.
