I think Lisa Frankenstein's creature boyfriend is Victor Frankenstein's nephew and here's why:
So, everyone who saw the 2024 "Lisa Frankenstein" movie and paid attention would remember that this creature, cannonically having the Frankenstein surname, died in 1837.
Let's assume for the sake of the argument that he died at the age of 18 like Lisa did (mainly because it'd be cute), placing his birth year 1809. It was also implied that both of his parents had died when he was rather young, inheriting a pretty nice house from them.
Now to Shelley's novel. Thanks to a few context clues, like the dates on Walton's letters and a professor talking to the main character there stating that it was the 18th century, we can tell that the latest year Victor could have died was 1799. We can also put together how he was around 26 or 27 when he said fuck all and started hunting the monster. I've seen theories (mainly in Frankenstein retellings and fanfics) that place Victor's birth date somewhere in 1770 or near that. It is my favourite theory because it places everything together following what else we know.
Victor died a virgin with zero descendants. However, he was not the only one with that surname. He had two younger brothers: Ernest, six years his junior, and William, presumably at least fifteen years younger than him. We can immediately cross out William, because he had been murdered as a very young child. Ernest Frankenstein's fate was never clear in any of Shelley's versions. Most theories I've seen assume he outlived his entire family.
What's more, the original Frankensteins were from Geneva, Switzerland, while Lisa Frankenstein's monster was from the same town in USA Lisa lived in a century and a half later.
So, following this speculation and doing the math, Ernest could have been born in 1776, gotten married and moved to America after the trauma and had a son in 1809 when he was 33. Then he and his wife perished when their unnamed son was rather young.
Honestly, entirely plausible considering the time period and everything.
Now, do I think that Diablo Cody had intended to follow that specific connection when writing "Lisa Frankenstein"? No.
It is all still speculation based on some loose connections and theories I've found. Conspiracy theories are fun. I just thought it was interesting and some pretty sweet potential for fanfic material.
Fuck I wanna write it now.

Alright, quick apology before we start this design post off! I was still figuring out how to do clickable links on mobile when making my masterpost, so apologies to anyone who was inconvenienced by that! It's been fixed now.
Anyway! Let's get right into the main part of this post, some refined designs for our continuity! Specifically for Jekyll, Hyde, Victoria, & Ada (her present day self).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I want to note, Jekyll is in a more casual/at-home version of his outfit, not a professional or formal one. And yes, Victoria was partially inspired by her Epic Universe/Darkmoor counterpart!
i totally didn't forget to finish shading ada and realized after i finished merging layers, noooope. /j

Alright after spending like, the last year very slowly making my way through Dracula I'm finally at the end and the fact that the most accurate film adaptation of this is actually the Mel Brooks parody is both hilarious and infuriating. Like how hard is it to adapt this book seriously without making wildly unnecessary changes?????? It's pretty rad on its own??????? Also Jonathan and Mina deserve to be the best movie couple ever like Hollywood why are y'all terrified of a healthy marriage? "Healthy marriages are boring" my ass they're one of the most interesting parts of the book DO THEM JUSTICE DAMN IT

Who is more unhinged, Erik or Adam?
I personally think Erik. Erik is a lot more reactive and his behavior is more erratic. He's also just....a lot weirder than Adam, and not in a quirky kind of way, in a "this guy has his own personal internal logic and it possibly changes from day to day" Even when they have similar-ish scenarios Erik's approach is a lot more strange to me. I can often follow Adam's logic and see how he got from point a to point b but I tend to find myself thinking "Erik...wtf."
Adam watches a family for months and uses them as means to learn how to speak and read and hopes to be able to communicate with them. He does naively think of them as his friends, building a possible relationship with them in his head. He doesn't explicitly pretend to be an "angel of music" but he allows them to think he's a "good spirit" and hopes that his benevolent intentions will be enough to get the family to overlook his face.
One day he finally tries to reveal himself to them by introducing himself to their blind father because that's the family member he's singled out as the safest option. In his approach he's cautious and direct. He is largely not deceptive about his wants and intentions, it even seems like it's going well until rest of the family gets back. Then it goes down hill and they chase him off.
Despite this Adam intends to come back the next day and try again to convince the cottagers that he means no harm and isn't a danger to them. He's actually pretty rational in his thought processes. But then the cottagers are gone and out of anger he torches the empty house. It's not a knee jerk reaction, it's vengeance. Adam is only violent when he's intentionally punishing someone and aside from MAYBE William (up for debate tbh) all of his crimes are premeditated and his expectations for the outcomes are realistic. This is honestly what makes Adam the scarier of the two for me. The fact that for all that his violence is terrible it's not the action of someone who's unhinged it has an element of being cold and calculated.
Erik is a lot more unpredictable but I feel like he doesn't really want to kill and he doesn't seem to hold grudges like Adam can. He has tantrums, he has meltdowns, he remarks that sometimes he can't even stop himself and is described as seeming not to know wrong from right. From this we can kind of gather that his moral compass is skewed and his emotional baseline is different from most people.
His plans also have very grandiose or fantastical components. Kegs of gunpowder meant to blow up half a city, playing the part of a celestial figure, coffins, scorpions, elaborate torture chambers. No one can top Erik for drama and the fact that he even HAS some of these things just ready to go at a moments notice despite having seemingly no logical need for them is...wild.
For as clever as he is he's also very impulsive and the choices he keeps making are bizarre. Like the decision to pretend to be an angel, of all things. His decision to escalaye his stalking by drugging and kidnapping Christine. His conversation with the Daroga when he's confronted about it. At one point he just shows up in Raoul's bedroom one night and stares at him. He has traps but one of his traps is a literal torture chamber designed to make the people in it kill themselves.
He is unreliable as fuck when he talks. Like, was Joseph Bouquet really an accident? It certainly wasn't an accident that he dropped an entire chandelier even if he tries to claim it was old and unstable. It wasn't an accident that he turned the torture chamber on when his own friend, the Daroga, was in it.
I also find his treatment of Christine to be really weird. Like I can't always tell what kind of relationship he wants to have with her because his behavior isn't actually that romantic. There are moments where he treats her almost like she's a child. He sings her to sleep, tries to entertain her with magic tricks and even talks to her a bit like he's her elderly dad or something. I feel like he likes the idea of having a wife but he only knows what that would entail on the most superficial level.
I think you can interpret both in a lot of different ways but the elements I tend to pick for them are ice and fire. Adam is more cold, cruel and ruthless overall while Erik is more passionate, unpredictable and explosive.
