I added Dark Link to the list of characters I write for so I decided to write something small for him :3

Btw, this is my own characterization and interpretation of Dark Link so this might not match for previous fanon iterations

His hands, calloused and bruised, brushed against yours, palms held at a distance as if even the slightest pressure would ruin you. Leather gloves, stained red, layed on his left thigh, leg bent and resting on its side. He didn't speak, nor did it seem like he breathed, but his fingers swayed like the leaves that danced above your heads. The hard trunk of the weeping tree he leaned into kept him sturdy, lending its strength so that even he could survive the relentless storm that raptured his soul

He was hesitant, unsure yet still willing. Willing to touch your skin and willing to express what had long been hidden. And despite the unspoken sins he carried, his fingertips brushed yours like dirt on a petal - harmless yet unsightly. A part of him, whilst longing to adore you, wished to sever whatever connection you both made. It's beyond dangerous, he would say...and you'd reply, that's okay.

Palms meld together seamlessly, curves molding against one another like water in a jar. You could feel the cold that settled within him whilst he could feel the warmth that proved you were alive. His fingers carefully slipped between yours, coming to a light rest on the back of your hand. Unworthiness swam and ate at his pleasant thoughts, finding himself undeserving of such a lovely touch. You watched as his eyes slipped shut; as he savored the feelings you poured into the meaningless embrace. Holding another's hand should not be so heart wrenching, he thought, there should be nothing to such a minuscule act. Yet there was more felt than anything you'd ever describe to one another.

He pulled away seconds later, though he was uncertain if it had been minutes instead. Drained, yet rejuvenated all the same, his eyes opened and peered down at the space between you...where his hand came to rest. You wondered if he would get up, if he would walk away and disappear...but he remained, back pressed to the tree and silent in pondering.

Perhaps he would stay, just this once.

43. Do you take a sadistic joy in whumping your characters, or are you more the "If you hurt them I would kill everyone and then myself" kind of person?

the first without a doubt, though i’m not sure how obvious that is, haha! i think the second still applies because in my eyes, they’re all my babies, but that’s what motivates me to whump them anyway. “when i’m gone, please walk tall” is the biggest example of this. i love noct and writing the reader was sooooo fun!! but sometimes they deserve the angst. as a treat :)

one who had dreams of being a hero

This comic is based on Story 3, which speaks of his hobby of ice fishing originating from the days he'd go out with his father on the ice, 'accompanied by his father's unending tales of adventure,' and dream of being the protagonist.

Nowadays, he keeps up the hobby, though only as a method of training... and it seems he fishes alone.

I thought a lot about fairytales and stories told to children -- how they are used to impart lessons and shape a child's growing sense of morality.

I think these stories were Childe's father telling him what kind of man he hoped his son would become.

In Story 5, 'his father had no choice but to hand his beloved son over for conscription into the Fatui' in an attempt to discipline his temper, but was disappointed when Childe continued ascending the ranks, further and further from the gentle boy he was..

His father named him after the hero Ajax. Is he still disappointed in the path Childe has taken? Does he still see his son in the man he sees before him? Does Childe feel in himself the chasm between who he dreamed of becoming and who he is now?

It's interesting, that fairytales should often have a very strict good/evil morality. Childe professes he has no use for such things, and will gladly become a mindless weapon so long as he can continue honing himself for battle. And yet, has he truly given up on being human?

For a Harbinger, Childe is oddly principled, preferring straightforward battles without deceit. He retains a sort of moral code, reluctant to involve those who are defenseless in his plans.

And of course, he deeply cherishes his family. What sort of weapon has a family? Why does he cling so desperately to this identity as a defender of childhood dreams, of being his sister Tonia's knight?

Perhaps his own dream of being a hero died long ago, but a part of him still recognizes the tragedy of it and maybe... in some way, is still trying.

This is somewhat of a companion piece to my Scara comic "one who has given up on being saved". Childe, unable to live up to his childhood ideals of heroism, and Scara, whose pleas for help went unanswered.

A failed hero, and someone who never had one.

Prompt #14 “I’ve Missed You” Kiss

Every time Yuta went on a dangerous mission, you would worry. Of course. Wondering if he’s alive or injured while fighting the world off. Any time you would begin to overthink these things, your stomach sinks, and you feel sort of sick. However, you do trust that he’ll return to you safe, just like every time before. He knows how much you worry, so whenever he can, he’ll tell you how he’s doing and that he’s okay.

During your thoughts, you receive a text from him saying he’s okay and he’s on his way home to you. You breathe the biggest sigh of relief. Your Yuta is alive and well, thank goodness.

When he walks through the door, you’re there waiting for him. You were so excited that you stood by the door for his arrival. Yuta drops everything he’s holding and opens his arms to you. You plunge into his warm embrace, hugging him as tightly as you can muster. His muscular frame wavers somewhat from your quick actions, but he stands firm.

“I guess you missed me,” he says, chuckling. You move your face away from his chest to look into his blue eyes.

“More than you know,” you reply. You wrap your arms around his neck, and the two of you lean into a soft kiss. His arms wrap around your waist tightly to show you how much he missed you. You two break apart after a bit, and he chuckles.

“I think there’s still some cursed spirit blood on me, so I’m gonna have to clean up,” he says.

“Okay, I’ll throw your clothes in the wash while you wash up,” you offer.

“Really?” he asks. His eyes soften. “Thank you, love. I’m so lucky to have you.” He gives you another big hug.

“Hey, hey, now you’ll get me messy too,” you joke.

“It’s worth it,” he says.
