Bard of Mind

The Bard of Mind. One who passively destroys logic, mind, and reason through thoughts, perceptions, and choices.

I was supposed to write something cool or funny here, but I just can’t think of anything… how very appropriate.

Bard- passively destroys their aspect and passively destroys with it.

Mind- major concepts of logic, reason, intellect, and the mind. Minor themes of thoughts, perceptions, and choices.

Abilities

Cognitive dissonance

The Bard of Mind passively destroys through thoughts. They can desensitize and drain mental efforts.

At lower levels they could make annoying earworms. The Bard would always know what ideas and comments would irritate most.

At medium levels they could make mental parasites. The parasites would sap energy based on how often people thought of those ideas.

As they progress further they could use this for negative reinforcement, cementing behavior by making some ideas exhausting or even painful. Thinking about the thing could induce an illusion, affecting anyone with the parasite. Making the surrounding area darker, making things spontabiouslly combust, etc. If more than a handful of people experience the illusion then the illusion might slowly become real from sheer psychic energy warping reality.

At higher levels they could harness their mental virus abilities to the fullest, using expert finesses. Key concepts would harm their targets, acting as a sort of mental trigger. The spread of toxic and harmful ideas would literally be toxic and harmful.

Ignorance is bliss

The Bard of Mind passively destroys perceptions and critical thinking, creating uniformity through lack thereof. They would be great at making people forgetful.

At lower levels their zany antics would make people act irrationally and get ahead of themselves. People would be almost compelled to make bad decisions when they are nearby.

As they progress their bad advice would become contagious and cause others to be ignorant and not think twice.

At medium levels they have a chance to ignore damage because they did not perceive it. What they don’t know can’t hurt them. If they concentrate they can apply this to others. The Bard’s broken perceptions could actually fragment little pieces of reality. If the Bard is unaware of something, logic might snap to make them temporarily correct, such as thinking their keys were in their pocket, but they actually left it on the sofa. For some weird, illogical, borderline unknown reason the Bard would have it. 

At higher levels they could induce insanity. Shattering apart logic and creating an area where logic simply does not apply. Their perception

Skills

Fallacy- you are difficult to psychoanalyze and logically understand

Abate- choices narrow when you are near

Distracting- people can’t think clearly near you
