*~✰ LABORATORY D.R.E.A.M *✰ SYNOPSIS- AN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE LABORATORY FROM A DIFFERENT DIMENSION IS PATENTING CYBERNETIC COMPANIONS FOR SINISTER PURPOSES. *✰CHARACTERS- MARK, RENJUN, JENO AS ENGINEERS, HAECHAN AND JAEMIN AS COMPANIONS, CHENLE AND JISUNG AS INTERNS *✰CONTENT WARNINGS (FOR THIS CHAPTER)- MENTIONS OF HUMAN ENERGY BEING HARVESTED, NO MAJOR WARNINGS CHAPTER ONE LOADING ASSETS…… “ Let’s first meet the team behind the scheme. There’s a plethora of different mechanical engineers within the lab, but all decisions get sent to the head of command, Mark Lee, and his two deputies, Huang Renjun and Lee Jeno. These three engineers have been known to create mechanical supergiants; their current task being their Companions.  Of course, the robots have to be micromanaged by the interns at the lab. The Companions main managers are newly-chosen interns, Zhong Chenle and Park Jisung. Their job is to program, upkeep, charge, and organize the Companions.  Now, for the action..." “ The inside of the engineering center of Laboratory D.R.E.A.M. is pristinely neat and systematic, with mechanized arms and conveyor belts delivering the parts needed to the workstation. In the center of the incredibly organized chaos, Mark and his team work tirelessly on their pride and joy, the future of their careers, their first-ever, one-of-a-kind Cybernetic Companion, replicated to look just like any average human being, with a bit of a twist.  “Renjun, can you hand me an energy canister?” Mark called over the buzzing of the machines. Renjun wheeled his stool over to the touch-screen ordering panel. “What size?” he asked, scrolling through the options for canisters. “A larger one, preferably one of the newer ones we got.” Renjun selected the one his boss requested and entered it into the system. A robotic arm connected to a cable system strategically procured the correct-sized canister and deposited it on the table. The newly patented energy canisters are designed for one purpose: to give the cybernet energy. The source of energy? Well, let's just say that’s what humans are for.  Just then, the heavy automatic doors slid open, and in stepped Jeno, arms laden with extra wires and parts for the second cybernet. “You’re just in time. I’ve just finished wiring the energy canister,” Mark announced proudly. “Does that mean we can finally activate our first one?” Jeno asked, a victorious smile playing on his face. “Absolutely. We can finally meet the first Companion.”

PREVIEW
“ There is a laboratory. A particularly exceptional one. It is located in the dimension known as KWANGYA, a place only accessible to chosen individuals by intergalactic travel. It takes approximately 825 years to reach the dimension, and few will enter. Earthbound laboratories may specialize in a number of things. They could run tests to cure disease, or manufacture quality of life goods for consumers. Favorable things. Ethical things. A very sharp contrast compared to our particular laboratory in discussion. Nestled in the very center of the dimension, Laboratory D.R.E.A.M exists. The intent of this lab is to create a new division of life, a new hope for the dimension. These beings, meticulously built, are called Cybernetic Companions. Crafted by top tier engineers and managed by the most highly trained interns, these creatures are easily programmed to do whatever the master desires. Perfect for the workplace, yes. But even more so for a total eradication of the human race. ” “Enter Laboratory D.R.E.A.M.” TRAVELING THE GALAXIES……………

i’ve never been a fan of anything scary or macabre. in fact, a haunted house is the last place i ever imagined myself going to. unfortunately, my boyfriend, jeno, has been begging me to go to one with him all month long.
as we pulled up to the attraction, jeno nudged my shoulder. “i’ll make you a deal, whoever gets scared first has to buy the winner snacks afterwards,” he says playfully. “that’s easy, challenge accepted,” i smirk, holding my hand out to shake, doing my best to ignore my pounding heart and clammy hands.
the first couple of rooms were mediocre, with typical skeletons, zombies, and mask-donning chainsaw-wielding guys chasing little kids. i played it cool until we descended down to the basement, where we were met with a large, cold, barren room with bloody, ragged body bags hanging from the ceiling. various human limbs and appendages were scattered about the floor and a severed human head was propped up on a splintered wood table with candles lining the perimeter. “wow, this is kinda freaky, you scared yet?” i asked, but nobody answered. i turned to survey my surroundings, panic rising in my chest. i was alone, with nobody but the corpses. i swallowed my fear, and navigated the dimly lit area nervously, bracing myself. “it’s not that bad, it’s not that bad,” i kept repeating to myself, like a mantra. i turned the corner and found the exit, but right as i reached for the handle, something, rather someone, jumped out at me. “GRRAH!” the person yelled, making me flinch and let out a scream myself. i prepared for the worst, but the only thing i heard was laughter. “what the? jeno is that you?” i questioned, timidly. “who else would it be?” he laughed jovially. “come on! why are you like this?” i whined, and he pulled me into his arms, still chuckling. “well, all i know is that you owe me food. remember the deal?”
“that will be $21.27 please,” the cashier rang up. i reluctantly handed over the cash as jeno swept up the shopping bag. “thank you, nana,” he thanked me, plastering on his signature sweet smile. “yeah whatever, i’ll get you back.”
