everything we learn about Susie's past in chapters 3 and 4 has me tearing my hair out in clumps because there is a woman out there who is everything she ever needed in life who would move the sky and earth for her sake but she's in the wrong universe so she's stuck with a stupid cop

kris seeing through their hand in the shadow crystal. all the "severed hand"/"guy who wakes up without a hand" references in the new chapters. berdly having his entire arm paralyzed in the hospital if you didn't spare him in chapter 2. toby fox talking about his chronic wrist pain often preventing him from coding and playing. learning to navigate his disability and how working in a team makes developing games possible for him, even if they don't perfectly represent his vision. the piano as THEE representation of kris' freedom and individuality outside of their role as The Cage. the option to tell susie that Kris will keep playing if she learns to play piano too...

if kris loses their hand and deltarune ends with a 3-hand concert where susie plays alongside them i am going to walk straight into the ocean

so um. um. i'm really. enthralled with the concept of them being the trash in waterfall. in undertale. i am absolutely not the first person to do this

so we've all seen the "fresh from the juice/turn up the juice" spamtenna dialogue, right? we've all seen it. but i wanna look at the context of the dialogues (particularly the Spamton one)

Spamton says this before the NEO body breaks if you defeat him via violence. he knows he won't last long, he'll never be free from his strings, he's in pain, he could die - he's trying to assure himself, to comfort himself. and the words he chooses to comfort himself with are the words of his old partner

Tenna is the same. when everything is crashing down, he tries to comfort himself with what he knows, what he loves. that old jingle. their old relationship

theyre both only comforted by the memories of each other
