met one of my favourite authors from my childhood a few days ago (Darren Shan. literal dream of mine cause this guy introduced me to gore at age 11) and I swear I looked this man right in the face and confessed to him that I'd always had a crush on Lord Loss as a kid and it's way worse as an adult, actually.
for some reason I was not expecting him to be appalled by this (he was) β "I thought you were going to say Mr Crepsley!" (safe. normal. sane.)
so ofc I had to be like "oh noo no no I'm so sorry lol." but I expressed my shock that more people hadn't admitted that to him before and to my pleasant surprise he responded, with all the open-mindedness of someone willing to accept the unthinkable: "maybe nobody has been brave enough to say it out loud."
so like obviously I've been thinking about that interaction for a solid three days now. and I'd just like to take this opportunity to formally say that if any other weird girlies (gender neutral) had the floating corpse chess playing spider demon as one of their sexual awakenings growing up, I see you, I understand you and I haveβdare I sayβthrough my immense bravery and sacrifice of my own dignity in front of internationally successful author Darren Shan, paved the way for you to live your truth. thank u goodnight x
