You thought Satoru would have seen the divorce coming.
Your marriage was arranged, the two of you didn't share much and by all means you didn't see him at all because of his work. You slept in different rooms and didn't give in to the pressure of your clans for an heir.
Satoru wasn't a bad husband. He was just a stranger.
But you didn't blame him for freezing up at the sight of the divorce papers.
Because honestly? For you, divorce was social suicide. Your clan would never forgive you. If it was that easy, you wouldn't have had to marry him in the first place.
"What does this mean?" he just came back from work, earlier than usual, still in his sorcerer uniform. He took of his blindfold, his blue eyes inspecting the paper. His white hair fell in his face making you want to brush it behind his ear.
God, you hated yourself for this.
Satoru looked at you with these eyes and for the first time you saw actual hurt in them. There was none when you stopped him on your wedding night, telling him you weren't ready for sex, none when you slept in a different room.
Because he knew what this divorce meant for you. Dishonor to your family. Most likely getting disowned.
"I want a divorce, Satoru."
He went quiet again. His eyes going back to the paper.
To be honest, you never thought of divorcing him when you were newly wed. Not just because of the consequences but also because Satoru was never bad to you. He was even really kind for someone forced into this.
But then you saw her.
It was a usual Clan meeting with several little and big sorcerer clans. She stood close to him, he seemed more comfortable than he was ever with you. You didn't even know her name. Didn't know anything about how he felt towards her. But you saw the way they looked at each other. How she giggled at his words.
You didn't think Satoru was cheating on you. And that was the thing. With you in the picture he would never be able to get with who he really wants.
You couldn't stand a life with a man who would slowly start to despise you because you ruined his life.
"Why?" his voice was small, hoarse. He didn't look at you, his eyes onnly focused on the papers, on the word 'divorce'.
"It's for the best." you stood up to make yourself a cup of tea.
"For the best?!" a strained laugh left his lips. "What do you mean?"
"Please, Satoru." you tried to calm him but you saw him shaking his head.
"Stop it, I can demand an explanation when you are practically saying you would rather be disowned than be married to me. Just tell me what I did!" his voice got louder, making your frame flinch.
"Why does it matter?" the picture of her was in your head. You didn't know why.
"Why does it matter? Are you serious?"
"Yes, why?" you paused, scoffing. "It's not like we married because of love."
He went quiet after that.
No, you did know why you thought of her. Because you were jealous. Jealous, that another girl got to talk to Satoru Gojo more than his wife. Jealous and insecure because you did want to know him.
"Why are you saying that?" his voice hoarse and suddenly much closer to you.
"It's true. You don't love me so why stay married?" you muttered as you stirred the hot water.
"Stop saying that." his head dropped on your shoulder. "Please."
You froze. The feeling of his head overwhelming you.
"I know it's hard for you, I've met your family b-but-" a sniffle. "But I really am trying to make it work. I thought it was okay for you. I thought you were okay."
Satoru was crying.
Satoru was crying.
You kept silent, overwhelmed by his reaction, by everything right know.
"Please just tell me."
Silence.
"Is it because of my work?"
"No, it's not." your voice was muffled.
"Is it..." he paused. "Because you found someone else?"
Your eyes widened at his words, suddenly speechless.
"Is it? Is that why you are saying all that stuff? I understand, but please just be honest-"
You couldn't help it you started laughing. And you knew it was cruel, Satoru was crying on your shoulder, but the situation of him thinking you loved someone else was just so absurd to you.
"Me?" You shook your head softly your laughter suddenly dying. "No."
"Then what-?" he stepped back collapsing into a chair. "Please just tell me." he repeated his voice breaking at the end.
"It's just-" you sighed, trying to relax your suddenly stiff body. "I don't want to keep you away from your happiness."
"What?!" his voice was loud again, making you focus on your cup of tea again. After he saw you flinching again, he lowered his voice trying to stay calm. "What do you mean by that?"
"You know."
"I don't."
"That meeting a couple months ago, I saw."
"What did you see?"
"Saw how you looked at her."
God, you wanted to die. It was so hard to speak right now. Every word felt like torture.
"And I don't want to stand between the two of you, just because you were forced into this."
Satoru kept silent after that. You felt his gaze burning into your head as you looked down at your tea.
"So please, just get it over with." you sniffed. Shit, when did the tears come?
Satoru stood up again, making his way over to you. And as he stood there, looking too into your tea, his arms slowly wrapped around you.
"I don't even like her."
"What?" you looked up, his face was suddenly only a couple of breaths away.
"I don't. And if that's the reason why you want to divorce me, could you please talk to me before falling into a overthinking spiral? You're torturing me here."
You blinked at him, stunned by the realization.
"If you really are unhappy with me I would understand, I would prefer to fix things, but I would understand. But I won't divorce you because of your self sacrificing tendencies."
You blinked at him again, starting to blush out of embarrassment. Shit, was this a big misunderstanding?
"You sure you really don't like her?"
"Yeah. I've got another crush you know." he sighed, his voice still strained from the crying. "She is really pretty but really hard to figure out even though I'm married to her."
Now you really blushed, your eyes widening more than you thought was possible. "What?"
"Yeah, it's kind of embarrassing really." he took your cup of tea and placed it on the counter next to you, to pull you really into him. "I have this big crush on my wife, how do I tell her?"
You were malfunctioning as he layed his head on your shoulder again, this time not out of frustration but because of the desire to be as close as possible. His whole frame hugging you.
"She has this soothing voice and pretty smile, but I hardly get to see her and I don't want to make her uncomfortable."
"Satoru, what-"
"And she keeps this distance, I don't know what to do because I want to get to know her for real, you know? Want her to like me and you know."
You felt a soft smile.
"Want her to ask for cuddles when I get back from a long mission. Or even better a ki-"
"Satoru are you drunk?" you were red and hot, you felt it.
He was grinning as he looked up, but there was something so vulnerable in it. "No, I'm not. I just-"
He sighed. "I don't want a divorce. And maybe it's selfish of me, but I want to know you. And I want you to know me."
You held you breath after that. And after a bit of hesitation you did wrap your arms around him too.
"Me too."
His arms held you tighter after that. "You don't want a divorce?"
"You aren't divorcing me?"
"No."
Guess that divorce wasn't happening.

"This season is so much less cringe, I'm shocked..." Satoru's hand was in the chips bowl, his eyes fixated on your TV.
The only light in the living room was the soft lighting from your kitchen and the TV, the majority was dark. It was already past midnight. Normally you would be asleep, but today was special. It should have been special.
"Ginny could still be nicer to Maxine tho..." Satoru ate another potato chip while holding the bowl towards you, offering you some nonverbal.
"Yeah..." you didn't look at the screen. You looked at him.
Because today should have been the night you were finally ready.
But you weren't.
"They are all so mentally ill-"
"Satoru." you muttered. "I'm sorry."
He finally looked at you. His eyes so gentle you wanted to cry. Oh wait... Were you already crying? "I wanted to tonight. I really did, I-" a hiccup. "I really did."
"Shhh..." his arms wrapped around you, embracing your quivering form. "It's okay, we don't have to hurry, we have time."
"Are you sure?" you knew that question wasn't fair. It was a silent cry, a fear of him being dissatisfied and leaving you. A subtle ask of his honesty. Because your insecurities won in this very moment.
"I am." a soft kiss on your temple. "I am sure we have all the time in the world to enjoy. So why should we hurry and forget to enjoy it?"
A subtle 'I won't leave you.'
"Did you find that on Pinterest?" you sniffed.
"Hey, why can't you believe in my honest mind?" Satoru said, a playful offended undertone in his voice. His arms gently pushing you back and forth.
"Because I see your reposts." you tried to get out of his arms, while he stayed right where he was. "Let me go!"
"Omg, you're so clingy, let go of me!" Satoru gasped while he pushed you more and more. "I can't breathe because of you!"
"Satoru!" your arms now holding onto his body tightly so he couldn't push you anymore.
And as he looked at you he smiled softly because you were laughing again. He leaned forward, his forehead against yours.
"I love you."

Sukuna was stubborn.
You knew that but you stil thought he would leave the sleeping deprivation matter go. Yeah, maybe you yawned a lot, but was that really so irritating?
He obviously thought so.
Sukuna always looked so frustrated at you. And maybe he had a right to. He caught you a couple of times sleeping in the library. He woke you up after the first time. A scowl was always present when you blinked up at him.
"It's not that bad." you reassured him, hoping he wouldn't dig into the matter. But you knew that wouldn't satisfy him.
And still. He let you sleep after that. The times after that you weren't woken up when you fell asleep in the library. But you always woke up in your chamber.
The maids didn't stop. No, they were having fun with tormenting you now, with stealing your sleep. Sometimes knocking your door down at 2 am and leaving when you woke up. Waking you up with water splashing your face, while cleaning your room without speaking.
You wanted to act, do something. Anything to finally sleep.
You wanted to kill them. But not enough to tell Sukuna.
So things changed.
·········⋆༺𓆩❀𓆪༻⋆·········
"Don't you have better things to do?" you muttered while picking at your lunch.
And Sukuna that little shit (he was in fact not little) smirked at you while taking a sip of his drink.
"I don't think so."
The King of Curses was unpredictable. You still didn't understand why he let you live, why he laughed at the village that threw you away, why he burned them down. No, you didn't dare try to predict his actions. But still. This was unusual.
The last week he was uncharacteristically nice. Attentive. Present. Almost clingy?
He didn't just dine with you, he ate breakfast and lunch with you too. Sukuna made sure to take at least one stroll with you through his garden. Made sure the food you ate was to your liking.
Made sure you got everything you needed.
You didn't understand. It wasn't like there was something missing. It wasn't like the palace of him wasn't giving you everything.
You just wanted to rest. But even with the king of curses right next to you on your stroll it didn't feel like you could relax. There was still that haunting feeling of being watched, being judged by them.
There were only Sukuna, you and Uraume in the dine room as you ate lunch. And still you felt tense.
"Why did you move me to a different chamber?" you tried to raise your voice but you were so exhausted.
Sukuna gave Uraume a quick glance before he spoke. And that kind of fucked with you. "You still have sleeping problems right? Something with your neck?"
You cleared your throat. "It wouldn't call it a problem." you paused for a second. "And it got better." A lie.
"Well, problem or not, I've decided to gift you a new bed. Something better to rest in." Sukuna's eyes examined your tired posture as he spoke. "And more stable. You never know."
You hated how hot you felt suddenly. How you knew he knew from his smirk.
"But was a new chamber necessary?" your voice was much more thinner than before.
"Might as well. Why, do you not like it?"
"No, I do! I just... Don't see why."
"Then just accept it as a gift."
"You are really generous, my lord. It's not even my birthday."
There was it again. The awkward silence. It had gotten a more rare visitor over the last week, but it still somehow made its way into your interactions. Sukuna wasn't someone you could normally talk to over long time. Who could? He was the king of curses.
"Is that important to you?" his gaze was lowered now, not exactly avoiding you but still not meeting yours.
"What is?" you pushed your empty plate away from you.
"Birthdays."
You blinked at him. "I... Guess."
He seemed a bit tense now. "Why?"
"Well, it's a tradition, a celebration of ones birth. And I like to celebrate my existence, that's why I like to think that day is mine." you let out a small chuckle. "But it's not that important I guess. It's just a day to feel good for me."
He nodded. That tall man with four arms nodded and seemed so human to you in this moment.
"Do you not like birthdays, my lord?"
He glanced at you. "I never celebrated one."
Your eyes widened. "What, why?"
At that he looked up at you with an ironic smile and there was the Sukuna you knew. The one you saw the first time you met. "Do you really think someone celebrated the birth of the king of curses?"
You didn't know what to say. Now you felt a bit stupid to ask such a question. You looked at the man in front of you and asked yourself how his parents had reacted to him. What happened to him?
"Don't pity me, I like being feared." he smirked while saying that.
"Do you know when your birthday is?"
"Pfff- no why would I? I just don't see a reason."
"Well, if you say so. But I think you would like it. I like the feeling of having a day filled with gifts and appreciation. And it doesn't have to be that, just a day in which one treats themselves." you muttered.
Sukuna glanced at Uraume again.
"When is your birthday?"
·········⋆༺𓆩❀𓆪༻⋆·········
It was in the afternoon when you strolled through the garden with Sukuna. He didn't say a word just slowly walked beside you, keeping you company. That was nice.
The garden was really beautiful, something you didn't expect from the king of curses. That he would have a beautiful and healthy garden seemed almost ironic when you thought about your burned village.
The soft breeze was refreshing and for the first time you were relaxed.
The maids didn't matter right now. Your tired body was just enjoying the gentle sounds of nature and the company of that tall man.
Sukuna watched you while you were looking at his flowers. And honestly you didn't mind. His staring started to flatter you, almost made you feel safe as long he was watching.
But that didn't mean you always liked it.
"Do you like Forget me Nots?" it was the first time you started a conversation on your little trip through the garden.
"Like is a strong word." It really wasn't. But for Sukuna it was. "They are pretty."
He was quiet. Looked down at you sitting before the flowers. He stared into your eyes and then back at the flowers. Then he cleared his throat.
"I guess I like the quietness in them. In flowers in general. And still some of them have thorns or other ways to keep dangers away."
You smiled at them. "And they are pretty?"
"And they are pretty."
You couldn't help but think of what he said when he first saw you. How he had called you a pretty flower. Was it just some dumb saying or was it something-
Crack!
You flinched at the sudden sound and turned around to see where it was coming from. It came from near a tree the ones near the entrance of the palace.
And then a small peeping sound, almost like cries.
You walked near to see a small bird laying on the ground, unable to spread his wings.
"A Shima-enaga." Sukuna spoke from behind you. "Probably broke his wing."
"Poor thing." you mumbled while leaning down.
"Just the circle of nature. Happens all the time." he raised his hand. "I can put it out of his misery if you want?"
"No!" you turned to him a bit fast taking him by surprise. "It can heal, can it not?"
"I guess I could heal it with reversed cursed technique." he raised an eyebrow and almost seemed sad he didn't get to kill it.
You watched the small white fluffy bird. Watched as it peeped at you so helplessly.
"Can I take care of it?" you slowly pushed one finger against it, helping it to stand up.
"If you want to. But I could just heal it."
"I like to have the feeling of deciding over ones life. And it's cute. I would like to keep it."
Sukuna just smirked at that. He knew that feeling all to well. And since he first met you he knew you liked it too.
And who was he to deny you your wishes?

You know those days where you’re not quite sure what you want?
Like… your body’s antsy, brain is a bit foggy, and for some reason, hugging your boyfriend and gnawing on his bicep feels like the best option you’ve got. So you do exactly that. Face smushed into his shoulder, arms wrapped around his middle, teeth lightly biting at the fabric over his bicep, leaving drool behind.
Satoru pauses mid-tap on his Switch. Looks down at you with a curious little tilt of his head and the faintest smirk playing at his lips.
“Well good morning, princess,” he coos, baby-blues darting between your face and the game, followed with a curt. “Need attention?"
You just sigh. Whine a little. Snuggle closer.
He chuckles. Loud and shameless before he drawls out. “God, you’re so needy this morning, what's going on?” Eyes going back to the screen. Replanting his flowers. Checking turnip prices for the day, mumbling under his breath that he will have to text Nanami for his prices.
You huff and wiggle like you’re going to leave, feeling off, maybe a bit too warm, but he immediately locks an arm around your waist and yanks you right back against him, grinning like a fool.
“Nope. You started this,” he taunts with a smile on his lips, “now you’re stuck with me.”
You kick a little. He snorts. Tries to tickle your side and you squeal - so he pulls back, blinking in mock innocence. “Oh? So that’s too much, huh? But teething on me is fine, mmm?”
You let out another long sigh, exasperated and dramatic. A string of whiny sounds follows, none of which are even a little helpful.
He finally sets the Switch down on the table, lips twitching upwards as he watches you flop around where he trapped you in one of his arms (did he have to be that strong?) .
“I swear,” he murmurs, shaking his head, teasing as he moves to cup your face, “you’ve got so many noises but not a single useful word, huh?”
His long fingers cradle your cheeks, squishing them gently until you’re forced to meet his eyes - those gorgeous, ice-blue eyes glinting with affection.
“Use your words, baby,” he says softly, mockingly sweet. “Please? I love you. I really, really do. But you’re testing me right now. You wanna be babied, nibbled, coddled, tackled? I need some sort of direction here.”
He kisses your pout once. Then twice. Then again just to be annoying.
“Not letting you go,” he sing-songs, arms wrapping tighter around you, trapping you against his firm chest. “Not until you say what you want. You can’t squirm your way out of love, sunshine. I’m clingier than you are.”
Eventually, you grumble something under your breath - maybe a mumbled, “Just hold me,” or even a “Shut up, Satoru,” but he hears it. And oh, he lights up.
“There she is!” he cheers, pulling you fully into his chest, smothering you. “See? Communication! I’m so proud of us! We're learning!"

Satoru is one of the sweetest people you know.
He brings you flowers, makes you laugh, he even knows your favorite color. And he isn't shy to tell you how he feels.
He smiles when he asks you: "How is my pretty lady, doing?"
And you feel so horrible, because you do like him! It's just the timing.
It's been two months since you broke up with your boyfriend. Well honestly he broke up with you. It wasn't even messy just two people growing apart from each other. And he just didn't see a life with you anymore and you didn't either.
But you're still hurt. Still scared.
Scared of the butterflies, scared of watching the flowers welk over time, scared of getting undressed again, getting hurt again.
Scared to see the glint dim in those eyes again.
Satoru is a friend of a friend. You met him at a party, right after your break up. Shoko brought you with her, telling you to forget about your 'ass of an ex'.
But you didn't feel comfortable because you weren't even mad at your ex. You didn't want to drink your problems away, you wanted to take time. And when Satoru approached you, you were honestly not feeling well.
Satoru noticed.
He didn't press, didn't push just made light conversation. Asked for your name, your major, your interests, without making it too pushy, without making it too flirty.
Since then he slowly slipped into your everyday life, after one month he asked for your phone number with a smile. And you did give it to him.
And now he brings you flowers every sunday.
Today is sunday.
Satoru is sweet, even when you're not. Even when you search for distance, he doesn't make you feel crazy, he pulls back, he gives you space. When you start crying he isn't overwhelming, he knows the routine by now, he knows what to say and what not to say.
But his flowers scare you. They welk. Every sunday the old ones are completely dead.
"It's a waste of money you know." you say as he shows up again with a new bouquet of flowers. Their beauty trying to replace the old.
"They just welk. They are a pretty at first, but they get exhausted over time."
He is silent at first. But then he smiles that sweet sweet smile at you. "Why not dry them? You can keep a book with them between the pages. Of memories of me, your handsome and charming Satoru."
He winks while putting the new bouquet in a vase, while taking the old flowers out of it. He gently puts them on a towel.
"Just because they change doesn't mean they aren't pretty. Change isn't always bad."
Is it?
"I don't want you to keep spending so much money. I feel like I'm robbing you." you watched him as he took a book and opened it. Putting paper towels on the pages and putting one flower into at. Then he gently closed the book, putting over books on top.
"You're not robbing me, sweetheart. I love bringing you flowers. A different bouquet every time, for a new week." he looks up from the books with a quiet hum. "You can take the flower out of the book later and use new paper towels and a flat iron to speed up the process. Then it should be perfect."
"It's not just the flowers." you were mumbling.
"I'm stealing your time, Satoru."
You weren't ready. His eyes have that glint that scare you. You are scared to lose that image of you. One day he will also realize how you really are. One day he will also not be able to see a future with you. And you are not ready to get attached again. You are not ready to see the flowers welk again.
Satoru is so sweet. So cruelly sweet that even now he looks at you like he understands. Like he wants you to steal his time, no share his time with him.
"You're not. I know what I am doing."
"Then stop." you look away, tears are starting to come up. "I'm just not- I don't want to disappoint you."
"It's okay, I won't be mad at how you feel."
Tears are falling from your stupid eyes. "You don't get, Satoru, I don't think it's healthy for you to be so close to me. You are so nice, so-" hiccup "You are so sweet to me and I feel so bad because-"
"You do not owe me love."
You look back at him and through your blurry view you can see how he still smiles at you. A gentle quiet smile.
"I didn't bring you flowers to buy your love, I brought them to make you feel special. I want to make you smile again." he pauses and now it's his time to look away. "Because I like you."
"And it's okay if you don't like me back. If I make you uncomfortable with that I will respect that and try to get over you. But one thing is important to me."
He stops and another hiccup leaves your lips.
"Do you not like me? Or is it something else?"
And you completely break down. You cry and it's not pretty. While sniffing you somehow cry out words. "It's not that! I don't-" you huff for air.
"I do like you, Satoru. But I am not -" the overwhelming feeling is too much and you stop again.
"I'm scared. I'm not ready yet."
You turn away and try to calm yourself but the tears keep going, the feeling of loneliness, the feeling of abandonment after your break up on your mind.
You heard Satoru standing up and slowly approaching you. His presence behind you noticeable but not pushing.
"That's okay. We don't have to be in a relationship. Not now."
You glance at him, seeing his sweet eyes, eyes with that glint.
"But you don't have to push me away. I understand your fear and I don't expect you to overcome it immediately. But I want to help you on that journey. I want to be there for you until you are ready. Until you feel comfortable."
His voice stutters. "If you want me to."
Satoru was sweet. The sweetest person you knew, he showed you compassion even then when he didn't have to. He was there for you in a time when it didn't bring him immediately into your arms. But that was okay for him. Because he wanted to.
"I would like that." you muttered as you tried to dry your eyes, but tears where still falling. "But only if your patience allows it. I don't want to hurt you."
He gently lifts his arm, stops before your face as if he was asking. As you blinked at him he started to dry your cheeks for you.
"Then I will be here. Because I want to."
Satoru and you weren't a couple. But he was the most important person for you, your rock helping you with not drowning in your fear. Wounds don't just disappear. But they can be treated.
Satoru and you may not be a couple yet, but you were just starting.

A big thanks to everyone interacting and commenting to this post!! The taglist is open for the next part, but to be honest I don't know when Part 4 will be out.
To be real with you I didn't think this would get so much traction (if you think this isn't much I envy you I feel very OVERWHELMED) and to frank I have lost much interest and love in writing over the last 8 months, which is why I have posted so little.
But in the end I still love writing which is why I was so happy when I found this old draft and finished it on my birthday (thanks to everyone being so nice and wishing me a happy belated birthday you're the best).
All in all I want to thank you but also warn you to not get your hopes up to high for a good next part because I'm very good at self destruction and making my work seem dumb to myself and in the end deleting everything I have written hehehehe
So if you care I'm really grateful to have such a nice audience and if you don't care just have a nice day you sweetie!!
Thanks!

You didn't like the palace of the king of curses.
It wasn't because of the big garden with flowers you have never seen before, it wasn't because of the library with books you could only have dreamed of touching when you still lived in your home village.
It wasn't even the big intimidating king who was always scowling.
"There she is again. The king's new whore."
You didn't like the palace because of the maids who were constantly gossiping.
Every morning at precisely 5 am you were woken up by the sound of your door opening and the almost extra heavy steps of one of the maids. The maid would always start cleaning loudly at that ungodly hour and leave the curtains and door open when they leave. As they clean, they would always ignore you, never acknowledging your whining and groaning.
If it was just the lost sleep you wouldn't think they had something against you. Maybe it was just common here?
Wrong. Very wrong.
It wasn't common to be watched whenever you left your 'chambers'. It wasn't common to be glared at in the hallway. It wasn't common to wake up to torn clothes in your closet. And you really hoped it wasn't common to find tiny shards in your food.
It started with just whispering about you in the first week you were here. But over the last two months you felt the growing dread, growing hate towards you.
After you wore a kimono dress more oftenly, you would find it in shreds the next morning. And every snack that was brought to you was reflecting in different colors when the sun touched them.
Last week Sukuna had ordered you to eat with him. And as you felt their piercing glares you knew they were fuming.
"How do you think he will get rid of her when he gets bored?" Giggling. And of course they didn't care anymore if you heard what they said about you. Because they knew by now you wouldn't run to Sukuna about it.
Why? You didn't know. Maybe it was your sick masochistic pride which refused to ask that man for help. You would never admit it but somewhere deep in you, you didn't want him to see you as weak. Which he probably already did, but that was off the point. You didn't want him to see you scared because of some unspoken threats.
And today would be no different. Even if you could hear them talking about how you must be crazy in bed for their king to be so patient with you. But oh, were they wrong. Truth was, you didn't share anything intimate with the king.
You were just a gift for him from your village, someone he just kept around because he could. Well, that was your theory. Nobody knew what the king was really thinking.
"Oh, he will rip her apart for sure! Or maybe just slice her in two..."
That was enough of that for the day. Like always you skipped the rest of lunch, fleeing with light and quick steps out of that unbearable room. Maybe you had a sick masochistic pride, but even that had its limits.
At times like these you went into the library. They weren't allowed in there. The books there kept you warm and safe, away from the glances and whispers. Books about the world, countries you have never heard before. How could you, if you had never had seen so many books in one place?
Back in your village you would have called all these things meaningless. What about some other place on the other side of the earth? As if it would ever be important for you. But right now? It was nice to focus on something so meaningless. Maybe it was the relaxation. Probably it was the sleep deprivation. Who could blame you for falling asleep between these books?
·········⋆༺𓆩❀𓆪༻⋆·········
"Wake up." If you were back at your village you would have complained about this kind of waking up. But after the last two months it almost seemed gentle.
"Hmmmm?" you whined while keeping your eyes shut. You just wanted to sleep.
"I said wake up." You groaned while rubbing your eyes and slowly sitting up. Opening them to look into these red ones. Red eyes, crimson red eyes.
Annoyed, Sukuna sat down on the opposite side of the table you had layed your head on. Only now you realized how high the table was built, built specific for him to work on.
"I don't like it to be kept waiting." he leaned back in his chair. "I thought I made it clear to dine with you-"
"It's already dinner time?" you straightened your posture, your right cheek feeling hot from the laying on top of the book. Your eyes still felt heavy but you tried your hardest to keep them open.
"Was. It's already much past it in fact. I had to search for a long time to find you."
You looked outside of one of the big windows in the library, seeing the moon standing high in the nightsky. You rubbed your eyes, while a small yawn escaped. "I'm sorry, my lord, I fell asleep."
He scoffed. "I could see that. What I'm asking myself is why? Aren't you sleeping well?"
And of course you couldn't just keep your mouth shut like you had wanted. No, you scoffed too and narrowed your eyes as you thought about them. "Oh, but of course I do."
There was a tense silence after that, you didn't know what but something shifted in the atmosphere. Sukuna's eyes had suddenly something dark in them. "Elaborate."
You gaped but stayed silent. He didn't question, he demanded an explanation. But there was still your pride.
"Just neck problems, you know." you lowered your gaze onto the books you had read before falling asleep. Why the hell did you read about ants?
"Really?" his voice suddenly seemed so low. "Do you think you need a new sleeping place?"
As you looked at him, Sukuna had that strange glint in his eyes, the atmosphere more tense out of sudden.
"Oh, it's not that bad, don't worry." you muttered quietly, trying to ignore his intense stare.
"Well it's certainly not nothing if you oversleep dinner."
This wasn't going anywhere. You tried to lift your gaze just a bit, trying to see what his expression was, but you were immediately met with his red eyes making you advert your look.
The silence was awkward.
It wasn't like the king and you were constantly talking. Normally there would also be a silence in the room when you would dine. But that silence was different. Then he would be content with just your company, no fancy topics needed.
But right now he demanded an explanation. And you were to stubborn to give him it.
You looked at your book again just hoping he would drop it. Making it a battle of stubbornness, which others would laugh at, but was between the two of you more often than normal.
Hmmm...
Ants don't have ears. Instead of hearing through auditory canals, ants "hear" by feeling vibrations in the ground. Special sensors on their feet and on their knees help ants interpret signals from their surroundings. They also use their antennae and the hairs on their body to feel around while foraging for food.
Who would have known?
"Are you gonna drop the antics and just tell me what's going on?" he was annoyed and probably rightfully so, but you were too deep into it now.
"Don't know what you are talking about."
He let out a small groan and stood up. Making his way around the table to stand behind you. And for the first time since you were picked up from your village he was so close you could feel his warmth. He was leaning down behind you. His voice speaking into your right ear from behind.
"If you want to play this game then so be it. But I always find out. And if you keep sleeping so badly, well..."
You could hear his smirk. "Then I just have to make personally sure you sleep well."
With that he left. Left the room. And left you with a embarrassing warmth in your cheeks and tummy and cool ant facts.

"I think I love you."
୨♡୧ Confessing your love to best friend! Satoru was more of an act of letting go, than actually hoping he would return those feelings. An act of self care your therapist adviced you to stop letting it eat at you. Never in a million years did you expect this. Never.
"And it's okay if you don't return those feelings. I just want to be honest with you. But I hope we can still be fr-"
"Are you serious?"
As you looked at Satoru you couldn't read his expression. His lips were twitching from time to time, but his eyes didn't give away any emotion. And it scared you. Because Satoru never asked if you were serious.
"... Yes?"
You would have never expected to see tears forming in Gojo Satoru's eyes. He was blinking to push them down but they were ruthless and just kept rolling down his cheeks. Panic was starting to rise inside of you.
"But this doesn't mean we can't be friends! Nothing has to change, I will get over it!"
Those were blatant lies, but you would say anything to reassure him and stop these tears.
"No, it's not that, I'm just-" he let out a shaky laugh as he closed his eyes. "I'm just so..."
'Overwhelmed' you finished his sentence in your head. 'Shocked, disappointed, disgusted. God, please don't say disgusted.'
"Relieved."
What?
And there the boyish and almost cocky smile of best friend! Satoru was as he raised one hand to caress your cheek.
"I thought I was such a bad person for liking you."
You had to thank your therapist.

For over three months. You have tried to kill the King of curses Sukuna for over three months.
Four months ago your father sold you to his palace. Sure, it hurt, but you didn't have time to be sad, you had to serve the King, had to live in the small room with the other servants. You had to start to be a good servant, because if you weren't it would mean your death.
And god, did you despise this man. This monster of a man.
You had always heard the gruesome tales of him, how he killed thousands of men, how he could slice kids with a blink of an eye, how he burned down villages just because. And the moment you saw him you knew they were all... True. Yeah, they were definitely true.
On your third day he had a meeting with some men from a nearby village. You had heard them talk about trying to make a contract with the king. How they were hoping to get treasures for some women of their village.
One hour later you were ordered to clean up the leftovers of their corpses.
Of course Sukuna didn't care what servant cleaned up what, he just ordered whoever for whatever. You were sure he didn't know who you were. Still he looked at you like an ant as you sat in that pile of blood cleaning.
You felt rage, rage you had never felt before.
The same evening you decided you wanted to kill the man. You wanted to bring him down, show him his own mortality, he had so obviously forgotten. You wished, you could say it was for a noble reason, but it really wasn't. It wasn't for his victims, for the men you had to clean up.
It was purely because of your pride. Because you couldn't stand the way you had to bow before him.
You spent two weeks drawing a map of the palace, noting the schedule of the king, when he held meetings, when he dined etc. But it wasn't always completely clear, since he loved to go out and most likely terrorize people.
But after all you gathered all the information you could in these two weeks. You used your low place and profile in the palace to plot the death of the King of Curses.
At night you went out on the west side of the palace, the guards there fall as after 2 am, to run into anyone, any warrior who could take advantage of your information. Of course you didn't yell out 'Who can kill the King of Curses for me?', you did value your life. But you did know in which valleys you would find some shady figures who couldn't wait to get the information that you had. The deal was simple.
Your information for the life of the king.
There was a rather shady figure you found. You could never forget his sinister smile as he heard your request, he was no one you liked. But that didn't matter in this business.
So when you returned to the castle you had no other choice but to wait. Wait for Sukuna to fall.
One day passed. Two days passed. Three days passed. Nothing happened.
You thought the assassin had probably gotten cold feet or maybe just dipped with your information. But no that wasn't the case. There was a bad feeling in your chest which just wouldn't leave.
Till the fourth day.
That day Uruame asked for your Name. And as you gave it to them they just told you to go see the Lord.
With shaky legs you made your way to his chambers. And as you stepped in, the big man seemed to look at you for the first time.
"You wished for my presence?" you bowed before him. Unfortunately you had to.
He didn't answer, but you could feel his lingering gaze on you. Could feel him smirk. "Interesting." He only mumbled. "You are way more calm than I expected."
He let you leave after that. On the same morning you had seen other servants clean up a corpse in the garden. A corpse of a man who seemed to have been tortured. A man familiar.
The same day Uraume moved you into a big room.
"Your own chambers." They just said and left.
That was your first attempt to kill him. That was over three months ago.
Since then you had tried various things to get Sukuna to choke, both hypothetically and literally. Hired many sorcerers, tried to sabotage his thron, heck you even tried to poison him. But that bastard lived every time.
And you weren't even pissed because you failed, oh no. You were pissed because he knew you were trying to kill him and he got a kick out of it.
He had made you in charge of bringing him his food as if to challenge you. Smirked at you every time he ate.
And after every single attempt something new spawned inside of your chambers. Jewelry, clothes, a bigger chamber, food. Nothing could surprise you anymore.
You were the only servant with their own chambers, the only one in the whole palace besides Uraume he called by their name.
For other three months you were trying to kill the King of curses Sukuna.
And for over three months he had finally gotten excitement in his palace.

You didn't even know how this happened and if you were in your right mind, you would be embarrassed to no end, but somehow you ended up laying in fratboy! Satoru's bed with him on top of you making out, and god who knew what would happen after a few drinks at one of his parties?
But even now you still were wondering why his kisses felt so passionate, why his hand on your waist held you so securely and steady and why were you imagining a faint blush on his cheeks?
What a few drinks do to you, huh?
"Fuck, you are so hot..." he was mumbling into your lips while his other hand explored your body. You felt yourself burning up at his words and after a small whine escaped your lips, he chuckled while creating a small gap between you two.
"Says you..." a poor attempt to flirt really, but it did draw a small laugh from him.
"Soooooo..." he started to lightly pull at your shirt and a bit of panic ignited through your body. "Is this okay?"
He stopped in his tracks and looked at you through his dazed eyes. Blue eyes. Really, really pretty eyes.
Fuck, why were people always judging other girls for spending the night with him? You would do it for the rest of your life if you could...
"Hey, if you don't want to, it's alright-" after your lack of response, the famous fratboy! Satoru really got nervous and looked at you with no of his usual confidence.
"No no, I want this but..." you cleared your throat while looking away. "Could you please turn off the light?"
He blinked at you two times. Then three times. His mouth slowly opening and closing again, making you feel smaller under his gaze and almost clutch onto your clothes. He then sat up while shaking his head. "Why?"
"Oh you know..." you followed him and sat up yourself, while letting out a nervous laugh. "Don't want you to be turned off."
...
That wasn't what Satoru wanted to hear, no never. He looked at you with so much confusion he genuinely thought you were joking at first. But when he saw your awkward smile he couldn't believe you really meant it.
"Me? Turned off? By you?"
"Oh I know how it is, sometimes the imagination is better than reality, I don't want to ruin the fun-" you let out another nervous laugh. You already ruined this didn't you?
"Me? Turned off? By you??" he groaned as he saw the genuine confusion on your face.
"I don't understand..." you muttered while he studied your face with a critical look.
"Listen to me sweetheart." he pulled you close again and you could just barely surpress the little sigh that was about to leave you.
"You're literally the most gorgeous woman I have ever laid my eyes on. And I won't be turned off by any part of you, okay?"
Now it was your turn to blink at him. And it was probably just the lightning, but he seemed even more red.
"You are telling that every girl." you accidentally muttered what was supposed to stay in the safe and deadly space of your head, but he heard it and now almost seemed to glare at you.
"Jesus we need to work on your self esteem." he started to hide his face in the crook of your neck, nibbling at the skin. "And I won't fuck you, if I can't admire you, just to be clear. I waited to long for this moment to not see you moaning my name."
Now you were really burning up, what the hell?
"Please, I just don't want this to be ruined by my not so great loc-"
"I waited to long, seeing you every day at campus, admiring you, listening to your sweet voice, to only get a dark room for my first time worshipping you."
"Gojo, stop it-" you felt like dying from his words, feeling him touching you everywhere wasn't helping you in any way. Even if you will dream of this.
"Satoru. You know the name." he groaned into the crook of your neck. "Sweetheart, I think we have to just cuddle for today."
It was stupid but your heart sank at his words because, fuck, you really did ruin it. "Is that so?"
"Yeah. I have to take you out at first so you get that I'm serious."
What a few drinks do to you, huh? If only you knew fratboy! Satoru wanted to ask you out since last year.

Sukuna isn't good at showing his feelings. Or is he good at not showing his emotions? Either way it's hard to be with him.
You would say, but in reality it really wasn't. Because even if the oh so nonchalant Sukuna didn't let anything show, his second face betrayed him constantly. His second pair of eyes always on you, making it so easy to see right through his neutral facade.
Yeah, maybe he was easy to anger, easy to make him so stubborn out of pride. But all of that didn't matter, because even if he was mad. Fuming even. His second face still watched you.
And he thought he was so slick with it. Thought you didn't realize he was still watching you.
So when you kissed his second face one day while he was watching you again, he was embarrassed and his second face had a tint of red for weeks.

I need to talk about chapter 109 of spy x family!!!
Tumblr media
The whole chapter I felt uncomfortable because of 'Loid' but especially in this panel. His smile is so unsettling to me as he talks about his oath as a psychotherapist, while he thinks of how he could use any piece of information from her. It makes me so uncomfortable inside because I think Melinda really needs a real therapist. And in the end Loid is really just using her bad mental health. Endo is so good at reminding us that Loid is not a good person while he is on his mission.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I knew it! Those dark circles under his eyes really look like they are from out of space!!
But let's be fr right now, I'm really worried about Melinda's mental health

Failing student! Sukuna who didn't really care about all the missed lessons he had in his record. He didn't, not even when the principle called him into his office. Who cared about what that old hag had to say?
He really didn't care, just until he saw you sitting there with that horrified look as you saw him.
You, the president of the student council, who he had always thought was a stuck up bitch. Always a nerd, always getting good grades, always following the rules. Utterly boring, that's what he thought about you. But still fun to tease.
Failing student! Sukuna who is annoyed as hell with the fact he had to hold a little meeting with miss perfect and the old man. He takes a seat, the only other one which was unfortunately next to you.
"You can't be serious?!" you turned your look to the old man. Your voice was annoyingly high pitched.
"I can't... Not him!"
Now you had his attention. He turned to you, seeing you not even sparing him a glance anymore. "Woah, woah, what's with me, sweetheart?"
You kept ignoring him and just shook your head. "Please, I can tutor anyone else, but not..."
Failing student! Sukuna couldn't help but laugh at your horrified and desperate face as you started pleading with the principle who was just shaking his head. Your pathetic attempts to argue were almost cute.
"If you really want my recommendation for your college application, that's my only condition. Get Sukuna's grades up."
Failing student! Sukuna 's  Laughter died down as he realized what that meant.
"Wait a second, I don't need tutoring! And especially not from goody two shoes over here."
"Oh, believe me goody two shoes doesn't want to have anything to do with wannabe bad boy too-"
"Quiet you two!" the old man cleared his throat. "Sukuna, you haven't showed up to two thirds of your classes, you need tutoring. And Y/n if you really want to work for that recommendation you'll help him with that."
"Now get out of my office you two."
Failing student! Sukuna is in disbelief to what the fuck just happened as he and you stood outside of the office. You stood there with crossed arms and a fuming expression he had never expected from you.He just turns around to leave as you let out a groan in frustration.
"So when will our lessons start?"
He scoffs. "Never."
You followed his steps and kept that demanding tone. "Sukuna, you can't just decide that, the principle ordered us-"
"I don't care what that old man says and I especially do not care about that little recommendation of yours." he yawned as he kept his steady steps. "I don't need better grades."
You stop in your tracks and he's almost disappointed by your lack of stubbornness until you say-
"You are that hard of a loser?"
Failing student! Sukuna is immediately turning around to see your smug expression. Flabbergasted at your words, because there was no way the biggest nerd of the school just called him a loser?
"What the fuck did you just say?"
And he doesn't know why but that devious grin that forms on your face is starting to fire something inside of him up.
"You're a loser." you sarcastically sighed. "I mean failing in high school? I don't even know how you achieve something like that."
You giggled. "I mean, you probably couldn't better your grades till the end of the year, even with my help. Let alone ever be better than me."
Failing student! Sukuna doesn't even realize how you had him wrapped around your finger as he glared at your smug grin.
"Of course I could. And you know what?" he took big steps towards you, now towering above you. "I could do it even until next month, sweetheart."
And then you smirk. "If you think so. But to prove it to me..." you let out a dramatic sigh. "I guess you would have to come to my lessons."
"Oh, I will come to your fucking lessons." he didn't know why he was so worked up, but he couldn't help it as he glared at you.
"Perfect. See you tomorrow in the library after class." And with that you just turn around and leave him standing there. Shouting a quick "Don't you dare be late, you loser!" back to him.
Failing student! Sukuna doesn't know what's gotten into him as he watches you leave, but he can't help but start smirking too, because who would've thouth the stuck up president of the student council had such a foul mouth?
It was hot.
