honestly, especially in the current state of the world, you all have GOT to kill whatever puritanical voice inside your head keeps insisting that if something is erotic it has no social, artistic, or intellectual merit.

stop acting as if someone can’t enjoy both erotica and literary fiction or classics. it’s not some dichotomy.

AU where everything in LOK is the same except that Asami has short hair.

She doesn't do the hair flip when she meets Mako so he actually gets angry with her for hitting him with her bike instead of infatuated.

He doesn't agree to go on a date and instead sues her for financial compensation due to his making a living with his body as an athlete.

Mako gets early exposure to the police and legal system that he'd previously lived outside of as a triad member.

Asami has to go to her father for money. He grudgingly delays some of the Equalist production lines to come up with the cash.

Mako uses his settlement to sponsor the Fire Ferrets. There is no need for Future Industries. Korra never overhears Hiroshi Sato discussing his plans.

Without Asami in the picture, Mako and Korra start dating. Bolin is bummed but not crushed. There is no team awkwardness. The Fire Ferrets win all their games.

When the Equalists attack, it is the Fire Ferrets on stage instead of the Wolfbats. Mako, Bolin, and Korra all lose their bending. Amon declares victory.

Due to Hiroshi's delayed production to pay Asami's settlement, the Equalists have half the mecha they were promised at the time the United Forces shows up. Korra, destroyed by being unable to help, discovers she can airbend and uses this against the planes. General Iroh is able to land half his ships and 9,000 ground troops in Republic City.

Where he is greeted by a grateful Hiroshi Sato, who has never had to openly declare his loyalty, and his beautiful short-haired daughter who is not dating anybody.

A shrewd man who knows how to bide his time, Hiroshi allows himself to be appointed the new non-bender member of the Republic City Council.

Amon flees the city. Mako, taking an earlier interest in law enforcement due to his civil suit despite losing his bending, vows to track him down.

Korra goes South to eventually, after a period of profound depression, recover her bending.

Bolin still finds acting because all the bending effects are fake.

Asami Sato becomes a Fire Nation princess, introducing short-hair fashion to Caldera along with the husband who refuses a top knot. They are seen as the emblems of the modern Fire Nation and Asami is much beloved in her new country.

And Hiroshi Sato... waits.
