If you need the spacious interior of an SUV but aren’t looking for a full-size SUV, then you need to head to your Chevy dealership. The 2024 Chevy Equinox is compact, but there’s a ton of room in the cabin for passengers and cargo alike.
Introducing the 2024 Chevy Equinox Available At Your Local Chevy Dealership
Compact but Cavernous
The Equinox is a small SUV, but it has a foldable 60/40 split-bench seat, allowing you to expand your cargo space by a little or by a lot. When the whole bench seat is folded down, you can fix 63.9 cubic feet of cargo into the car. If you’re traveling with valuables, then keep them in the hidden storage area under the rear cargo floor.
Safe and Secure
Chevy Safety Assist equips the Equinox with six standard driver assistance features. These features are:
Front pedestrian braking
Following distance indicator
Lane keep assist with lane departure warning
Intellibeam automatic high beams
Forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking
A rear vision camera
A rear seat reminder and teen driver technology are also standard on this car. OnStar Safety & Security and an additional six driver assistance technologies are also available for drivers who want an extra-secure ride.
Endless Entertainment
The Equinox is equipped with a standard 7-inch diagonal infotainment screen. There are numerous features that your passengers will enjoy using on long trips.
There’s a Wi-Fi hotspot available, so your kids will be able to scroll through social media and stream videos without eating away at their phone’s data plan. Built-in Alexa is available, too, so you can easily access your favorite playlists, add to your Amazon shopping list, get directions, and do much more.
Fantastic Fuel Economy
A turbocharged 1.5-liter gas engine is standard on this car. It delivers a fun ride with fantastic fuel economy. While you’re driving around the city going about your daily business, expect to achieve around 26 mpg. When you have longer trips to take out on the highway, you can achieve up to 31 mpg.
Sleek Special Editions
Those of you who value style in a car should look at the Midnight Edition and Redline Edition. The Midnight Edition, available on the LS trim, outfits your car in lots of black. The wheels, front and rear bowtie emblems, and grille are all as dark as the edition’s name. The Redline, available on the Limited trim, decorates the car with unique decals and a grille specific to this edition, and it gives the car plenty of red exterior accents.
The Equinox has even more to offer than what we’ve discussed above. Come explore its features and take it out for a test drive at Bacon Auto Ranch in Athens, TX.

How Long Has It Been Since Your Chevy’s Last Oil Change?
Routine oil changes are essential for the health of your Chevy. Not sure how long you should go between trips to the Chevy dealer for fresh oil? Let’s take a look.
How Often Should You Change Your Oil?
While your Chevrolet owner’s manual will contain the most accurate recommendations, modern Chevys should typically have their oil changed every 5,000 to 7,500 miles or after six months. Older models or vehicles driven in severe conditions may require more frequent changes.
What Does Oil Do?
Oil prevents metal-to-metal contact between engine parts by acting as a thin barrier. This prevents wear and tear on your engine’s parts. Oil also helps to cool engine components by carrying away heat. Over time, your oil breaks down and becomes less effective at both of these jobs. If your oil is too old, your engine may overheat and become damaged.
Signs It’s Time for an Oil Change at Your Chevy Dealer
Low Oil Levels
If the oil in your engine is too low, it can’t do its job. Low oil may only mean that it’s time to get it changed, but if you top it off and the levels drop quickly, you may have a leak.
Your Oil is Dark and Gritty
When your oil is fresh, it should be amber and slightly translucent. As it ages, it will pick up particles of dirt and debris from the engine, getting darker and thicker. If your oil is black and gritty, it’s time for a change.
Engine Noise and Knocking
Oil acts like a cushion between engine parts, helping it run more quietly. If your engine is louder than usual, or you hear knocking, it might be due to old oil failing to lubricate properly.
Oil Indicator
Many Chevrolet vehicles are equipped with an oil life monitoring system. If this oil light illuminates, it’s signaling that your oil needs attention.
Exhaust Smoke
While some thin vapor coming from your exhaust is normal, especially in colder weather, smoke from the tailpipe is a bad sign. It might mean that you have an oil leak, or that oil is burning somewhere inside your engine. Both of these situations should prompt you to schedule a checkup.
Poor Fuel Efficiency
Old oil can make your engine work harder, decreasing its performance and reducing its fuel efficiency. If you notice your gas bill is going up, check on your oil.
You’re Overdue for Fresh Oil
If you’ve driven more than 7,500 miles or it’s been more than six months since your last change, don’t put off the appointment. Neglecting your oil can lead to expensive repairs, so it’s worth taking the time to replace it.
Don’t wait until it’s too late. Keep up with your car’s oil so your Chevy can run smoothly for years to come. Visit Bacon Auto Ranch and let us take care of your car’s oil today.

3 Amazing Features on the 2023 Buick Encore GX
One of the things that makes crossover SUVs so appealing is the fact that they have enough space for people and things, but they aren’t overly large and cumbersome to drive. If you’re looking for a vehicle that has a great reputation, is durable, and has extra space but still drives like a car, then you need to check out the 2023 Buick Encore GX. It has some features you’ll find absolutely amazing.
Tumblr media
1. The Various Trim Levels
Having options is always a good thing, and you get choices when it comes to the SUV. There are three trim levels to choose from, including Preferred, which is the base level that comes with a wide range of standard features that make this option anything but ordinary. The second option is the Select trim, which has some awesome extras, including a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and rear park assists.
The final trim level option is the Essence. This one is the top of the line for this SUV, and it comes with heated front seats and steering wheel, leather upholstery on the seats, a power liftgate, and a panoramic sunroof.
2. The Engine Options
In addition to choosing which trim level you want, you also get a choice when it comes to the engine. The Encore GX has two options to pick from: a 1.2-L three-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, or a 1.3-L turbocharged engine that produces 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. Both of these engine options are paired with a continuously variable transmission.
All-wheel drive is standard on this vehicle, and it’s also equipped with an electronic coupling system. This system is in place to enhance traction and stability in variable weather conditions, distributing torque between the rear and front axles when needed.
3. The Upgraded Interior
When it comes to the interior of this vehicle, you can seat up to five passengers. When the rear seats are in use, you get 23.5 cubic feet of cargo space, and when they are folded down, you get 50.2 cubic feet of cargo space. You can even remove the cargo floor to gain an additional 2.7 inches of cargo space.
When it comes to the technology in this vehicle, each trim level has an 8-inch touchscreen that is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible. The infotainment system also features voice recognition and Bluetooth, as well as comes equipped with a six-speaker audio system and Wi-Fi hotspot.
When it comes to smaller SUVs that still offer the space you’re looking for, you can’t beat a Buick. If you’re ready to be amazed by this vehicle, visit Bacon Auto Ranch today!
