He was fixing her language implant. “Unless you wanna be stuck speaking Pig Latin for the rest of your life, you gotta take a seat for about a second until I’m done working on this. Pam smiled faintly and shrugged her shoulders. “I think men have always been afraid of women,” she said. “Or rather, they are afraid of anyone who might topple them from the power they have selfishly seized.” She chuckled. “No, I certainly wouldn’t,” she said. “Though I don’t criticize the women who are still trapped under the proverbial boot heel. We shouldn’t blame them and avoid placing blame on the ones crushing them.” She smiled. “Oh, certainly,” she said. She very much hoped Hazel and Thorn would return to Gotham one day soon. She couldn’t help but sort. “Yes, Ed Nygma is an acquired taste,” she said. “Although he would say a required taste.”

Gamora nodded her head “there is no lie there, we can destroy worlds with a mere smile, we are always seen as non-threatening.” She mused before shrugging “the blame rest solely on those who imprisoned those simply because society demands certain things from women, Space is different from this planet here, I’m not quite sure I like it.” She offered before nodding her head “We have one of those in our group, too many they don’t understand why we even allow them as part of our group but they are important to our teammates.”

What if they were gone, what if he could have saved them if he were there? What if it was somehow his fault, whatever happened to them? God he could barley remember them either. His mother was the strongest part of his memory but there was also his grandfather or maybe he’d been an uncle? It was hazy and he had been so young. “I… I don’t know.” He confessed. “Last time I reconnected to family he tried to turn me into a battery so he could end the whole dang galaxy- and he smushed my walkmen!” Peter exclaimed. “And- …” His throat felt so freakin dry, when did talking get so damn hard? Finally, he pushed out the words. “I know the impression I make Gamora, I know I ain’t the same kid I was before, what if they don’t want me?” His tone fell more somber. “What if there’s no one even left?”

Gamora had no family left so she couldn’t very well say she understood the position that Peter was now in. She had been so trained she wasn’t even sure if she had any family left to speak of if she’d even bother trying to reconnect but Peter was different. “ I think you owe it to yourself to at least try and see if you can find them.” She mused listening to the other moving to place her hand on his shoulder as he spoke of Ego. “He fell beneath your feet because you had people who care about you looking out for you Peter, I shall company you anywhere even to see if we can find them.” She replied before shaking her head “If they don’t see the amazingly cool and kind person you’ve turned into then they don’t deserve you anyway, and if they turned out to be gone, at least you have that closure as well.” She mused softly she cared for Peter’s feelings and wouldn’t mind taking this journey with him. “I’ll be right there should anything go wrong I can slide and dice our way out of it.”

Peter had his guns and Gamora had her swords. Except for the times she used a gun too despite the fact it was his thing not that he minded because sometimes a gun is needed but that was neither here nor there. “I know.” The words moved faster then he realized, and with astonishment Peter realized just how deeply they were ingrained into him. The trust he felt for Gamora. He took a seat beside her, feeling an ease he didn’t often around other people. Gamora was one of the few exceptions. “So… “ He grimaced. “We’re on Terra, and I’ve been thinking lately…” He breathed in deeply. “I have family here, Gamora.” He’d thought about it endlessly, if he should try to look or not, and what happened if he found them? What if they were gone? Or what would happen if they weren’t.

Gamora had grown fond of Peter over the years they’d spent together, he’d broken her out of her shell but at the same time didn’t push her to be anything other than herself. She didn’t mind the interruption in her daily training one bit once she’d heard his tone. She waited patiently for him to speak, allowing the words to come from his mouth naturally. “We are on Terra, and I’m not quite sure how far from your home we are but you do have family here.” She mused looking at him for a moment “do you wish to reconnect with them Peter? No one would blame you for waiting to try.”

Gamora had never heard Peter speak this way, something about his voice alerted her to how serious he was being about this conversation they needed to have so she put down her sword to give him her full attention. “You know I’m always here for you no matter what, but something troubles you, I can tell” She mused moving to wave him closer so they could take a seat and talk about whatever was bothering him. “What’s on your mind?”

Pam gave a soft chuckle as the other woman spoke. “It’s definitely extreme,” she said, with a little shrug. “I do occasionally…” Often. “Engage in activities that may be construed as violent…” Such as murder. “But it’s all for the greater good. He turned away at the mention of him having a kind heart, struggling to accept the idea. He was a Ravanger, he wasn’t really supposed to advertise being a good person. Not being a total A-hole didn’t equate to being someone good and worthy, a hero, Gamora calling him something even close to that made Peter uncomfortable in ways he couldn’t express without some alcohol to truth it out of him. He swallowed, wishing there was a better way to wave it off or redirect the subject. Too bad Gamora was the more alert and vigilant out of them all. “… no kidnapping, got it.” He nodded, not making eye contact with her and instead giving a thumbs up (as if that would make anything better). “It’s not just that Gamora.” He turned back to her, now that the subject was easier to discuss. Hell, it wasn’t actually easier and it still was uncomfortable as hel but at least he could keep contact for this one instead of being too ashamed to look at her. “Ya think I’ve never thought about coming back? Terra isn’t that hard to find, I could’ve.” He breathed in, a note of clear sorrow passing his features. “This is the place my mom died. I never wanted to step foot on this planet again.” He rubbed a hand over his face wishing he could just brush off all the grief and frustration he felt. “And it’s my own fault too.” The both knew it too. Peter was just happier playing it off as an ‘oopsie daisie’ then expressing how shitty he felt about it.

Gamora could read Peter pretty well, the male was kind even if he claimed not to be, she'd seen it plenty of times just by being who he was. Yet she knew like herself he struggled with being told good things about her simply because she never deserved it, she was a horrible person in the past no matter how much she tried to change one could never change the past. “If you do happen to get kidnapped, keep your tracker on, because against what rocket may say you are...needed to this team,” she told him avoiding eye contact with him given it was horrible to allow herself to feel much. She had wondered a lot about his feelings about Terra and why he never chose to return, she knew the planet lay dead thanks to Thanos but there were times she could barely remember her mother and never had anything to remember her by as Thanos replaced every memory with pain and training. “This place holds a bad memory for you, I understand that Peter, but you can’t sit there and tell me before she passed you two didn’t have a blast on this planet.” She mused moving to carefully place her hand on his shoulder pushing him to look at her. “Doesn’t matter who’s a fault it was, we are here and together we will get our ship back up and running. So until we get it up in running, how about you show me some of the Terran cultures that you did enjoy?”

       Rocket shrugged. In all honesty, his mind had been on other things like trying to get off Terra so he hadn’t been paying a lot of attention to what Gamora was doing or how she was acting. The only evidence he had for her acting any differently was Groot’s word. “Well then you should help me get us off this lazy excuse for a planet.”

Gamora had to admit being on Terra things felt different, they weren’t in between missions fighting for their lives or even worrying about someone trying to kill them. She never did well with downtime lost within her mind became her coping mechanism. “I am always free to offer you help, but most of these parts you requested aren’t found here. So the question reminds what are the proper replacements that will work on the ship?”

Lucy frowned a little. “I know a–” But the woman went on to describe Peter flirting with all the women, and she shook her head. “Okay, different Peter.” If someone hadn’t told her otherwise, she would have thought that Peter Gordon was still a virgin. Lucy beamed. “Mom and I have a lot in common,” she said proudly. “She uses a bat too sometimes. Also a mallet.” She frowned thoughtfully. “Maybe our next project, she can help me decorate my own mallet.”

Gamora waited a moment thinking maybe the woman had the chance of seeing Peter only to nod her head. “The Name is most common here it seems, you’d definitely know him if you met him.” She explained before smiling softly “that’s good you both share such a common ground. Are you an only child?” She questioned learning more about the other before laughing “A mallet might work slightly better then a bat, and you can certainly branch out and make something of your own in terms of weapons.”

Not this. “You should probably ask Rocket,” Sheepishly Peter rubbed at his neck. “If I get near it I’m pretty sure he’ll put a shit in my pillow, or my food, or just anywhere cause he’s Rocket like that.” He made an exaggerated look of insult at the insinuation. “I do not like being kidnapped!” Peter glanced at Gamora and her unwavering eyes and he sighed in resignation. “Okay okay I don’t like being kidnapped in a non sexual context.” He amended. “Happy?”

“You are biased towards some of us and there is no hiding that, you especially show it when you slip Groot candy when you think no one is watching. You have a kind heart Quill unlike many in this place, just ensure you don’t get kidnapped by one here or they may lock me up for murder.” Gamora replied looking at the other it was always interesting to see how the stories Peter used to tell her played out in real-time here on Terra but many things were as the others had remembered. “I know the horror of listening to more then the same 15 soundtracks over and over again for eons.” She replied glad they had other devices that held more music than just the standard cassette. “I’m sorry this world is different than you remember but you must also know that maybe space became your home after a while. You used to dream of this place, it makes sense that things would change without you around.” she replied before laughing softly “he probably would but you did crash land us here without much warning or recourse, just try to ensure Groot is near less he really go feral.” she teased before tilting her head watching him with her unrelenting eyes. “That was as they say too much information about your sex life” she replied back “Never and you know this.”

Others refer to me as Poison Ivy.” She shrugged. “They all forget that I was first Dr. Pamela Isley.” She frowned as she thought for a moment. “They do tend to bury doctorates around here. It’s rather sad.” She snorted lightly and gave another shrug. “Again, it depends,” she said, with a smirk. “It comes from nature. It’s chlorophyll in my skin. Gamora found she didn’t mind the other; it was rather telling that the few words spoken between them didn’t want to have her wanting to just run her through with a dagger. “Eco-terrorist'' seems a bit extreme for someone who is quite obviously into loving the planet. Poison Ivy? That is quite the name given; it's linked to somewhat tame plant life.” She mused before nodding her head “A Doctorate in botany I assume?” She had done a bit of reading while here on Terra if only to understand more about Peter’s world. “That makes the most sense. I seriously doubted many of your people here took on the green pigmentation, but it’s always worth it and asks.”

The married symbiote duo does have the tendency at popping up where you lest expect them too which happened to be thing if you really think about it. The surprise however was that the guardians happened to found themselves situated on Terra, something in which Eddie would’ve never have thought would ever happen. Though he wasn’t complaining when she took the spot next to the them, politely facing her with goofy inside joke smile. “You and Rocket are the only two I can’t read, ya know. Hey! Don’t knock my poor deducing skills, besides I haven’t been in that line of work in like year and half - not like I’m counting.” He rumbled, lying poorly in the midst of it all, they had a calendar that had been counting down the days without a job. Huffing out nothing but hot air, the symbiote poked at the woman to get her attention, returning to holding form of the snake-lava around his neck. Buttoning his lip on how wrong he must’ve read the situation between Gamora and Peter, he was certain there was something between them. “Wow, I’m not enjoying how wrong I have been within the last ten minutes, might need to go back to college. You’re a very attractive woman but I’d never bring someone into whatever the hell this is…” He lifted his hand to draw a circle around him and Vee. “Like you said, you are far too much of a woman for me.” He teased, slight flush of cheeks tinting his skin. He shook his head at her. “Isn’t it a little freeing to be able to touch base with your feelings, now? Just warning it is the ones whom you can’t read their emotions on their faces you have to look out for here or the crazy eyes.” He joked to her, pulling his best crazed-eyed look. He nodded his head at her about the reasoning for them being here. “Are you liking it so far?”

Gamora couldn’t help but smirk at the other’s response, it was fun playing with Eddie there was no denying that after all one of the very few people on this planet that she knew and could stand. “You sure that’s the only two? Either way, surely there has to be some paper or something around there that could use your skills on? Shall I help you get your foot through the door?” She offered to look at the other for a moment knowing he was lying about not counting it was hard being stuck doing nothing that much was certain. She turned to look at him for a moment “You are fine, and not the first person to suggest we are dating, it's because all of his damsels in distress act he goes through. Ahh, you find me attractive yet you won't attempt any pelvic sorcery on me, Eddie?” She teased him a bit before nodding her head “Yes I suppose I am too much for the normal male to handle.” She paused a moment to reflect on his words “it's different, being able to think and feel for myself without fear of punishment. You have crazy eyes Eddie, does that mean I should watch out for your other half?” she mused before shrugging her shoulders “It's not bad, people here are quite weird but your home planet isn’t terrible.”

Pam glanced up at the woman, raising an eyebrow as she noted that they shared a rather unique tone to their complexion. “I don’t need any help,” she said. “I prefer to work alone.” The exception being Harley, of course, and Selina on occasion when the job had anything to do with actually protecting the environment. “And you are?” She glanced over at her again, a brief smirk playing across her features. “I assume people ask after your skin color quite often. They certainly do with me.”

Gamora watched the other they shared a skin tone but she was sure that was where their similarities ended. “As you wish” She mused looking around the place just because she didn’t need any help didn’t mean she couldn’t look at all the hard work that went into making this place beautiful. “I’m Gamora, what is it they call you?” She mused turning her gaze at the other wanting to hear what she had to say. “Plenty people do, whether I choose to answer them is the question, I have to wonder is yours natural? “ She questioned.

Gamora hadn’t meant to change her way of acting but being hereon Terra was a weird enough event to see Peter in his natural element that seemed strange to her. It made her think about her feelings towards the man compared to the other examples she had to use. “Have I been acting weird, Rocket? I suppose I’ve been pushed out of my element being here like you.”

       Shrugging, he looked over at the woman. She had been acting weird, well, weirder than normal lately. Groot said it had something to do with Quill but Rocket wasn’t sure what Quill would have to do with it. “Yeah, I guess they do sometimes. Is that why you’ve been acting weird?”

“Thank you,” Lucy said, grinning at her, as unrepentant as ever. She had dressed up as Alice anyway, even though it was obvious Halloween was once again going to be hellaciously messed up. That didn’t mean she had to forego her costume though. Her brow furrowed. “Who’s your friend?” she said. She hoped she hadn’t beat him up. She beamed brightly as the conversation shifted to her bat. “I decorated it,” she said. “My mom helped.”

Gamora looked at the other; her costume was something she didn’t know but she figured costumes seemed to go with this holiday. “He goes by Peter, probably babbling around trying to flirt with all the women. He’d definitely leave an impression once seen” She mused looking at the weapon “Its nice decoration, and it’s nice your mother lent a helping hand in your project” She mused noting maybe she’d have to find one of these bats to use on people if they tried to attack.
