Hello!! It’s nowhere near Father’s Day, but I feel like we never need an excuse to celebrate the great fathers out there!

1. Gabriel would always lend Anna his hats when Cecily wasn’t looking

2. When Kit was little he had a rock phase and would go to the river by the Lightwood manor to pick up samples of different rock formations. One of his parents always went with him so that he wouldn’t fall into the river. Gabriel was, strictly speaking, worse at the job of helping Kit find different rocks, because he’d always show him rocks Kit already had. Despite this, Christopher preferred going with his father, because Gabriel would always say “how can that be?” And Kit would explain to him the different rock formations characteristics.

3. When Alex was a bit older, and was curious about his older brother that he never got to meet, Gabriel would be the one to tell him funny stories about Kai’s most notable explosions and science failures.

4. Gabriel loves different cultures. Every once in a while he’ll hiperfixate on a country and read tons of books about said country. When Ari first came to visit as Anna’s official partner, she was quite nervous, until Gabriel started talking all about Indian culture and religion and asking her all types of questions.

5. Gabriel used to smoke when Anna and Kit were little, but it was only for like a month, because Cecily couldn’t stand the smell and told him she’d never kiss him again if he kept the habit.

6. Modern day Gabriel Lightwood claims he’s not a swiftie, even though she on his top three streamed artists every year.

I'd like to take a moment to have some sympathy for Tashi. Art was obviously depressed, and had been for some time by the time of the film. She had poured everything she possibly could into him, and she was wrung out like a dish rag. She still couldn't give up on him entirely, and she persisted until she figured out SOMETHING to put a smile on his face and bring back the spark she fell in love with.

Tashi wasn't scared this man was going to retire happily and take their little girl to Disney world and show up to every dance recital and tennis match. She was scared she was going to come home to find his remains if he stopped having something, anything to make him get out of bed in the morning. Remember when Art was pleasantly surprised she managed to keep her love of tennis after her injury stopped her from being able to play? Well, she heard what was unsaid in that. "What? Did you think I'd kill myself?" She's fully aware she felt like THAT when she was faced with an injury taking tennis from her forever. She also knows she made it through because she remained hopeful she could build a fulfilling life on the other side of that, and is not seeing any signs of that in Art. Note Tashi and Patrick are the only ones with any sort of ideas about a post-tennis life for Art. That suggests Art isn't planning on having one.
