The Phantomhives are actually a family of demons??

I don't know if someone already mentioned this( probably but here is my theory on it anyway). Like Yo, lowkey, I never took the Sebastian = Vincent theory seriously, but WHAT IF it is actually true? The Phantomhives are actually a long line descended from demons?

JUST LOOK AT THIS COMPARISON. (Vincent above and Sebastian on the bottom)

I honestly never saw the so called "resemblance" before, not until I saw THIS. Sure, it could be a mere coincidence or just Yana's art style, but if we've learned anything since the reveal of there being two Ciel's, it's that Yana doesn't do "mere coincidences" - no. Yana PLANS. She HINTS. Everything she's done has meaning of some kind. I highly doubt she was unaware when she drew BOTH Sebastian and Vincent in the SAME positions BOTH in a moment of death. I 100% believe it was intentional.

Which brings me to my next point.

How could Sebastian be Vincent? Well, as we all know, when Ciel first meets Sebastian his face is hidden. None of us - not even Ciel, actually knows what he really looks like. But we do know that Sebastian chose to take on the form he thought best suited what Ciel wanted as a butler. Emphasis on the "take on form part" - meaning he can willing alter his appearance to be whatever he wants.

That's why, according to this theory, I believe it's possible that Vincent could have been a demon all along, and for whatever reason he chose to accept his death or allow his family to be brutalized like they were (as a demon he may value human life differently), he came back in disguise to protect and look after his his remaining son. (Who knows, Vincent may be apart of some great big conspiracy we know nothing about that could be behind why the murders happened!)

Yes, this does sound like a stretch, even to me. But then I look back at the Green Witch Arc and I remember something very crucial.

Two new reapers appeared, and Ciel was able to SEE them - something that normal humans are UNable to do (at least according to the new reapers). They find it surprising. And what conclusion does the reapers come to?

IT. RUNS. IN. THE. FAMILY.

Not only that, but they also question if it's because Ciel is somehow close to death. I know people have been speculating Undertaker is the connection, but based on this theory, I think it could be Sebastian and not just because of the contract.

If Vincent was actually Sebastian, that means Ciel, by blood, must have some demon in him too. (I know it makes no sense to use the anime for references, but I do believe in some ways, the author gives an idea of events to come in the manga to the ones responsible for the anime in order to keep it from going too far off track, some authors do that: Alois is a good example that I think is reflected some way in the Manga being R.Ciel, but that is another story) So if we take a look at season 2 of the anime we see that demon Ciel is in fact a thing. It may not go down the exact same way in the Manga though, but I don't think its entirely out of the question, like say, if Ciel was somehow related to actual demons.

In a way, it sort of make sense. I mean, just listent to the name of their family. PHANTOMhive. A. HIVE. OF. PHATOMS. Demon are also known to be phantoms in some cultures. Plus, some surnames were originally given based on characteristics of a family such as occupation or appearance.

At first, I thought this was just a stylistic choice to fit the dark atmosphere of BB, but the more I think about it, the more on the nose it feels. And as I said, Yana PLANS. Everything directly connected to the story has meaning. Furthermore, how on earth was Vincent ever able to meet or connect with Undertaker if he was just an ordinary human? If The Phantomhives are descendants of actual demons then it's easy to see how they could have been wrapped up with a reaper if not more supernatural beings.

Anyways, I know this might sound like a stretch, or I may just be repeating something someone already said or that's obvious or something. But well, it crossed my mind and I wanted to share my thoughts on this theory.

Y'all, I’m back and about to be really controversial but I think what upsets me most about this fandom is how Keith’s emotions and struggles are handled verses how the rest of the character’s emotions and struggles are handled.

There’s such a lack of empathy for the things that Keith goes through, it’s unreal. If what happened to Keith had happened to any other character- pushing themselves away from the team, the team not speaking up against them leaving after they didn’t need them anymore, being excluded from the rest of the Season only to show up and display self-sacrificial, suicidal tendencies? You know how crazy the fandom would be if any other character had done that? Especially Lance?

But because it’s Keith, not only have I not seen very few (almost none) posts worrying about his mental state, I have seen multiple posts disregarding his mental state. Keith’s perfectly good with leaving the team to join the BOM guys! Leaving the first family he has had since he was in the Garrison is absolutely the emotionally healthy thing to do! It didn’t hurt at all that no one really tried to talk him out of it once they had Shiro back!

Shiro at least hugging Keith and letting him know he would be there for him which was the only nice thing, next to the group hug. But the above picture proves that Keith didn’t want to leave and probably thinks they don’t care.

And please, please don’t get me started on posts where they call him leaving selfish, because how. HOW?! By making sure none of the rest of the team had to give up their Lions? By making himself more tactically useful by joining the BOM? Just how?

Then you get to the posts talking about how Keith sacrificing himself is just him following the BOM way, which, while true, completely ignores the emotions that Keith must have been going through. For Keith to have been willing to sacrifice himself, that intrinsically means that he believes his sacrifice brings greater worth to the team then him being alive. It means that he feels like the team will be just fine without him. It means that he has a very small perception of his personal worth. It means that he only values himself (and believes himself valued) for what he can contribute to the mission.

I’m going to piss a lot of people off with this, (and I’m genuinely not trying to upset you, but it has to be said) but what really kills me is that Klance, the shining mega ship of this fandom, the one that loves angst when it comes to Lance, is… completely ignoring Keith’s emotional state. I have seen 1000% more posts about Lance’s air show and how Lance must feel with Keith gone then I have posts even hinting at Keith’s emotional state. Even posts bashing him for leaving because it hurts Klance. This is worrying, because fandom? They think that Keith gets fandom focus because he’s part of a mega ship. But really, 90% of Klance focus is on Lance.

I’m not trying to be mean, Klance shippers, because besides how some of you act I have nothing against your ship. Though it’s not my OTP, I even consume your content sometimes, because Klance can be really cute and a lot of you are really talented. But sometimes I think a good majority of the Klance fandom actually hates Keith. Not only have I seen Klance fans post anti-Keith things now and in the past, a lot of you seem unable to bring yourself to care when Keith is going through an emotionally dark time, whereas Lance would have you all in tears. Maybe I’m wrong, and maybe as y'all have time to think about this Season you guys will surprise me and actually start focusing as equally on Keith’s emotions and struggles as you do on Lance’s? I hope so, but I’m only hesitantly optimistic.

So fandom, please don’t think that Keith being part of a mega ship means he’s handled with care in this fandom. Please don’t ignore his struggles, ones you would feel empathy for if they happened to any other character. Please don’t look at this character and write off his emotions.

Because for the people that identify with him, it hurts.

I have a question about the scene with diederich in the newest chapter, if you don't mind ^^ in English translation, Vincent says "help him", only referring to real!ciel. did he say that in the Japanese version too...? or is it like the "child" and "children" thing? was our ciel left out in this? another thing is, in the extra chapter, our ciel said that at the end "they" didn't go on the boating trip. In this chapter, the others did?or am I mistaking sth?

OMG, that translation of Vincent’s line you mentioned has always bothered me ever since ch101!! It’s clearly a mistranslation because the original line goes

「もし私に何かあっても　きっとお前たちの力になってくれる」

Literal translation: “Even if something happened to me, [Diederich] would certainly assit *you* [plural].”

There’s absolutely no vagueness, no ambiguity whatsoever in this sentence, Yana clearly used the plural suffix (お前　+　達) to signalise that Vincent 100% meant “you” in plural, referring to the twins - including our Ciel. So translating this word to “him” [*singular] is undoubtedly a mistake on the translator’s part.

What makes me angry about this is that the YP translator did not mistranslate this line once, but TWICE. I mean, back in ch101 the 2CT was not confirmed yet, so I can understand that the translator might have had some doubts and therefore used singular instead of plural (this doesn’t change the fact that it’s a clear mistranslation though), but this time, the translator knew that there are twins and that Vincent was clearly talking to them. However, the translator didn’t correct their mistake, but just thoughtlessly copied and pasted the same text from ch101 with the same mistranslation and thus made Vincent look like an abusive father who neglegts his second son (our Ciel) :/ Imo this is very unprofessional and lazy work, I serisouly don’t understand what the translator was thinking! (>_<)

As for the boat trip thing, I didn’t notice until now, but yeah, it seems like another mistranslation!

The original line goes

「僕は翌日熱がぶり返し　一緒にボート遊びには行けなかった」

Literal traslation: “The next day, my fever returned, so I couldn’t go to the boat trip together [with them].”

So the others went to the boat trip, poor our Ciel had to stay at home - as it was shown in the latest chapter!

BONUS:

While we’re on the subject, I’d like to point out that the translation in this scene isn’t correct either.

The correct translation is

Rachel: “I’m okay now. Please go check on that child [*referring to our Ciel]”

Vincent: “Ah yes. He has just recovered, we can’t have him overexert himself and get sick again.”

As you can see, they both cared for our Ciel, their sickly second son. It’s a bit frustrating that some mistranslations make it seem like he was forgotten or even worse, neglected by his parents (which definitely wasn’t the case!) :(
