what is blu ray honestly i have no idea i know it exists but what's the actual difference?

blurays are the cd releases of shows and tvs, and web dls are ripped from the streaming services that they're on. i think there are multiple qualities in cd releases and blu ray is like the top tier one

either way, blu ray is considered much better quality than the online releases especially in terms of animated media

for giffing purposes, the quality difference is more obvious if you crop and zoom it a lot. (if you're using a good bluray rip, there are lower qualities in those too)

i don't make zoom in gifs, like at all, but i still download the bluray rips bc it just scratches the itch in my brain
