last sunset at home before the semester starts. the day before a transition is hard for me because all i can think about is the transition. i’m so excited to go back but i also have so much nervous energy because a Big Thing is happening tomorrow even though i am so ready for it! sometimes i feel like one of those tiny chihuahuas that shakes when you make eye contact with it but i try to be brave about things nevertheless. i was high for a lot of the day today because i didn’t want to be nervous. everything is happening all the time but i think i can take it as it comes.

the other day at work we started making a list of everyone at work if they were a plant and it was just so fun and nice. my cafe definitely needed the good energy bc my shit ass manager that i’ve posted about before is literally just a hater like all she knows how to do is hate people and it definitely takes a toll on everyone whether they’re being hated on or not. but when we were decided what plants everyone was, there was nothing but kindness and love being spread. like we would talk about people behind their back except we were saying things like “yeah reece is a pink rose because she’s so lovely and beautiful but she also has thorns if you mess with her.” just appreciating people for who they are. moral of this post is that it’s so easy and fun to be loving and appreciative of people instead of being negative — something i have been practicing at work but need to remember to apply in other parts of my life too.

i took this when i was walking through my neighborhood at night with my sister and seeing the tree made me feel like a kid and i had to take a picture. being out in my neighborhood at that specific time of evening with my sister was also so nostalgic - we spent a lot of time outside with other kids in our neighborhood usually as day turned to night.

one of the few positives that i get from owning a cell phone is the fact that i have a camera with me everywhere i go. i wonder what sort of things i would have taken pictures of if i had that luxury when i was little. the tree definitely would have been one
