She breathed a little heavier, asking him, â Why do you have to tease meâ?â Bailee knew better than that, but, with his gentle touch and warm breath at her lips, she couldnât help but give in further, letting a smirk form and fill her. Confusion was still at the back of her mind, but she was clouded with emotions for Kyle. This was all wrong, and she felt it in her bones, but she didnât want to be right. âI missed you too Kyle.â She breathlessly added between kisses, his touch making her weak in the knees as her body pressed closer to his.Â
Bailee & Kyle | I missed you
âI couldnât leave my best girl behind now could I?â he muttered against her lips. Kyle had experienced a lot in his youth but the mind control had been the worst thing so far. It had turned him into a murderer and he was terrified of himself and half out of his mind with guilt. Adding the guilt of kissing Bailee without having talked to Clara for weeks didnât compare to what he was already feeling. His hand trailed the curves of hers neck as his his lips moved over her skin. âI missed you.â

Bailee had been walking down the hall, a folder in her hands as she looked over it, reading the short details about one of the Inhumans, someone she could potentially be mentoring, before she heard Kyleâs voice from down the hall. Her head lifted and met his eyes in a glance. She had heard the rumors that he was back, seeing that gossip travelled much too quickly for its own good around these parts, but she didnât know whether to believe it to be true. When he approached her with the gleam in his eye, Baileeâs heart stopped and she felt like she was dreaming. The moment was surreal when he grabbed her and pushed her against the wall, and she was left utterly speechless, kissing him back, letting her file fall out of her hands to quickly wrap around his neck and pull him closer to her. âKyleââ She whispered with her heavy breath, lingering in every second of the moment, still unsure if this was a dream or not. âI knew youâd be back.â
Bailee & Kyle | I missed you
Kyle ran through the S.H.I.E.L.D. hallways. Since Steve had knocked him out he seemed to have knocked his sane mind right back in and now there was only one person he wanted to see. âBailee!â he called out. âBailee, itâs meâŚâ he said in a way that should be enough to realize that the creepy Dougal creation had disappeared. He looked at her from across the hall for a moment, almost a little lost but when their eyes locked he didnât take away his gaze from her again. He stalked towards her, closing the distance between them. And then without hesitation he grabbed her face, pressed her against the wall and kissed her.

âI donât think it would hurt anymore than what heâs already gone through. April, Kyleâs sister could be a good playmate, though, Iâve seen Julian, and he definitely fits the type to be one whoâs good with kids, never running out of energy is probably a huge bonus.â She gave her friend a little smirk. âI would love to see him though. Heâs such a cutie!â Bailee gave a grin back, more than happy to try and offer her help with Sylvie.
âYou think that would help? I donât want to scare him eitherâŚHe has been through a lot with the battle and all the panic around here. A war like this is a lot for suc ha young boy to handle. Julian has been wonderful with him though. Children just need to be able to enjoy their childhood and play. Julian gives him that.â she said. âWould you like to see Noah?â she asked her. âIâm sure he would love seeing you.â she said. Weâll get him back. We just have to.â Sylvie said.

âItâs not exactly my job to make things seem like itâs all rainbows and butterfliesâ She counteracted abruptly. âWhat I donât understand is how you can so easily work for Hydra when you so clearly know that itâs the wrong side. Whatâs your angle in all of this?â
âIf youâre part of the recruitment division youâre pretty terrible at your job,â she shook her head. She knew Hydra didnât give a shit about her, and she was just another body to them but she had her usefulness and that is why she felt the need to stay. âIt doesnât matter if they donât give a shit about me or not, Iâve known that since Day One. And I work there so I know they have much bigger fish to fry than worry about a little inhuman slipping through their grasps. Itâs not as sweet as leaving the enemy and joining the good guys, some things are much more complicated than that.â

âYeah, it is pretty cool.â Bailee tried still after another beat moment. âI didnât know you when you were fifteen, and I certainly didnât do anything wrong. We just got off on the wrong foot. Definitely didnât see eye-to-eye. It was mostly your ability that just made me uncomfortable.â
âThatâs cool at least.â She nodded. All she knew was Black Widow had been such a badass back in the day. âI didnât like a lot of people when I was younger, so let me ask⌠Did you try to make me do things? Or did you throw things at me? Or did you make fun of me? Those are the three reasons I hated people when I was fifteen.â

âYeah, I suppose it is.â She looked to the man and lifted a brow. âI take it youâve been around here for a while then?â
âThatâs New York for ya.â

She narrowed her eyes over him still, not even sure she wanted to know what that meant. âI swear, weâll be ready for you Kyle.â She stated matter of factly before giving a short huff. âDonât count on it.â Bailee uttered before turning and walking off.
âBoring, boring, boringâŚâ Kyle said. âWell, Iâll see you later Bay. Maybe soone than you think.â he winked. âGotta go and get April after all. The shield aorund the base isnât stopping someone like me.â he smiled as if it was all a game. âDonât worry you havenât made me angry. Yet.â he said. âSee you around.â

âUh, sort of. Iâd say you were, yeah.â She shrugged off handedly. âTheyâre still pretty cool now. And, Iâm not sure how far your work relations went with any of them to be perfectly honest. You and I...we were just basically strangers. I was your mentor, but you sort of hated me.â
âWas I a badass?â She asked clearly curious about what she used to be like if she had some sort of powers. Yet, she was scared. She didnât want to think to hard about it because memories hurt. âYou said I worked with S.H.I.E.L.D.? Did I know Black Widow? Is she still in the Avengers? They were pretty cool when I was fifteen.â

Bailee shook her head, feeling like she had personally let him down. Not that this was the case, but Kyle deserved to be back at SHIELD, safe and sound from those damn Dougals. âI donât have to deal with this. I just want you back to normalâ and Iâm not going to stop until this is fixed.â She struggled relentlessly as she watched him. There was no way she could fuck him in this state, even if the bad boy act was sexy, he still wasnât the Kyle she fell in love with, and she didnât want to do that to him. âIâm not going to sleep with you.â She murmured, though her heart was racing at the thought. âAnd Iâm not going to yell at you. The last thing I need right now is for you to be angry with me. Who knows what youâre capable of.â
âI suppose weâll never know will we? Because by the looks of it I wonât return to my former self and Iâm glad for it.â he said. âThis is me now and youâre just gonna have to deal with it.â he stated. He smiled at the redness of her cheeks. âI do. I remember a lot of drama. It doesnât have to be like that now.â he said. âIt can be easy. I can give you want you want. Which is sex, right?â he stated. âIâm not âmoralâ enough anymore to keep that from you, so.â he said, turning it in to a joke. He had no feelings left concerning the matter to handle it with any more tact. âYeah, I think itâs a bit of jealousy.â he said. âAnd if I remember things well this is probably the part youâre gonna yell at me for being an asshole.â

âLook, youâre clearly are new to this whole thing againâ itâs a lot to process.â Bailee started over, know that her training had sort of prepared her for this kind of confrontation with new Inhumans. âWeâre all just normal people with extraordinary gifts.â
âNo, no abilities. Just a normal person.â When Bailee used her powers, Annabella clearly looked scared. Fear was something the old Annabella had never shown, so to anyone who knew her this would have been odd. âI-IâŚâ She stumbled back. âI canât be⌠I am just normal.â

âIâ I donât believe that for one second.â Bailee tried still, an added gulp catching in her throat as she continued to stare up at him. Kyle had always been a good guy, and she was convinced that he had only been trying to become better. A sudden heat fled to her cheeks and her heartbeat picked up. âYou still have all of your past memories Kyle, why donât you tell me if you think itâs jealousy after everything weâve gone through together.â
âEveryone keeps telling me that, but how do you know itâs not? What if this is who I have always been and the Dougals have just fixed me!â he said, getting annoyed by the constant comments from everyone. Then he chuckled again. âOh, is this jealousy I detect Miss. Carver?â

âYeah, just a person with abilities.â Bailee held her ground, keeping her stance still as the other woman began to take a few steps back. âNobody has random abilitiesââ Quickly and without thinking, Bailee slid her glasses down in a single motion before the beam of red blasted from her eyes towards the empty area to the right. Letting out a short heave of energy, she pushed the glasses back up her nose and turned her attention to Annabella. âDid that look like a prank to you?â
âNo. I am just a person.â She stated backing up a bit from the woman. âI think you just had a really realistic dream because none of that is real. I know I am missing ten years of memories, but I know for a fact that nobody has random abilities like that.â Annabella shook her head and sighed. âI was in a car accident, like Mason said. Itâs how I lost my memories. I just remember stuff from when I was fifteen and younger, but I think I know enough about the world to know this crazy superpower thing does not exist. Are you trying to pull a prank on me?â

âFair enough.â Bailee muttered as she lifted a brow in the womanâs direction. âAnd now? You still think they would come after you if you left? Theyâve got other things to worry about Mal. Bigger fish to fry these days. Hydra doesnât give a shit about you.â
âDonât mistake me asking you questions as genuine curiosity. Iâm just trying to make conversation since there is nothing else to do around here,â she said crossing her arms. âMy intentions? I guess they came from the explosion itself. I was in the heart of HYDRA territory with nothing else to lose. Either be tortured or join so I chose the obvious.â

âYeah.â Bailee sternly stated, not regretted what she had called the woman. âZadrian is no genius! Heâs a monster! Heâs done terrible things to people, innocent lives are being ruined because of himâ Please, look at yourself. This is not who you are!â The young woman let her eyes fall across his as her face paled with an intense jealousy. And, before she had a chance to stop herself, words came flooding out. âOf course. You would sleep with everybody else.â
He actually had to laugh about that comment. âSatanâs sister.â he chuckled. âI mean I see why you would think that. But he is really a bit of a genius once you get to know him. And I didnât sleep with her because it meant something. She wanted to piss her brother off and I hadnât gotten any in weeks so we could help each other out.â he grinned.

âThings are completely stale on that front if you really wanted to know. And even though weâre not friends, it seems youâre at least a little bit curious about me, as I have to say the same about myself for you. I just want to understand where your intentions came from.â
âTrouble in paradise? Not that youâll tell me anyway since we arenât exactly friends.â

âItâs what you are. A personâ with abilities?â Bailee tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, realizing just how infuriatingly difficult this was turning out to be. âThey are real, actually.â She started, a brow lifting back before she licked her lips. âBlood manipulation is just what you were stuck with. Iâve got laser eyes if you still donât believe me.â She rapidly replied. âWhateverâs happened to you must have caused some sort of amnesia.â
âInhuman? What is that?â Her eyebrows furrowed and head tilted slightly. She was pretty sure she was just a normal human. She had been all her life. âDo you realize how insane you sound? Why would I manipulate blood? Powers like that arenât even real?â It was clear she was getting slightly frightened by the woman and what she was saying. âI am Annabella, but I think that you are having delusions. I am not on any team. I am just a girl. -or I guess a woman now, but still.â

âBecause of your status as an Inhuman.â She tried still, realizing that if Annabella didnât know anything, she was going to have to help her. âI donât know whatâs happened to you, but clearly youâve lost some sort of memories. Youâre Annabella Davidson. You are an Inhuman at SHIELD because you have an ability to manipulate blood.â Frustration grew as she began. âI was your mentor, but your ability freaked me out. It still does actually. Butâ weâre on the same side. Weâre on the same team.â
âIt had to be a car accident. Why would I be in battle? Mason and I are best friends. He was my first friend actually. How would you know me without knowing him?â Annabella asked suspiciously. âNo, I wouldnât have been. I get that people can be cruel, but Mason and I have always protected ourselves. Plus I donât see why someone would target a girl who has been in a coma, so I should be safe.â Her face softened though. âThank you for your concern. It seems genuine and I donât honestly remember having that from anyone besides Mason. I am sure I really appreciated you.â
