āYou canāt just lose your temper like this every time you get a bit upset!ā
āStop shouting or I wonāt listen to a word youāre saying anymore!ā
āCalm down, right now! Youārs scaring me!ā
āWow, no need to get your knickers in a twist, I was just asking!ā
āShut up! Shut up! SHUT UP, you fucking BITCH!ā
āOkay, I know youāre angry, but try to breathe, alright? Sit down, let me help youā¦ā
āWhenever you behave like this, all I see is your father.ā
āWow, down boy/girl!ā
āLet go of me! What on earth do you think youāre doing?! LET GO!ā
āWhat happened in here? What is this mess? Did you do this?ā
āNow donāt get angry, but there are a few things we need to talk about.ā
āYouāre making excuses for hitting me in the face? Youāre making excuses?! Do you know what I need to hear right now? An APOLOGY.ā
āGet away from me!ā
āYouāre going to wake the whole neighbourhood if you keep this up!ā
āI donāt know why I ever gave you a chance! The only thing you know how to do is fuck up!ā
āKeep your voice down! People are starting to stare.ā
āIāll let go when you look me in the eyes and dare to say that again!ā
āYou broke my [OBJECT]! You knew that was precious to me!ā
āGo to bed, sober up and weāll talk tomorrow.ā
āYouāre telling ME to calm down?! YOU started this!ā
āYou say the nastiest things when youāre angry, so yes, Iām walking away from you now.ā
āI canāt reason with you when you shout like that.ā
āSTOP. FUCKING. SHOUTING!ā
āOw! Get your hands off me! Youāre hurting me!ā
āIf you open that mouth to say something I donāt want to hear ONE more time, youāre out, do you fucking understand?ā
āJust LET me get angry! I always need to keep everything inside, but I canāt do that anymore!ā
āIām going to call the police. Youāre scaring me.ā
āWhat the fuck do you think youāre doing? Youāre NOT going to call the police on me!ā
āWhat are you going to do? Hit me again?ā
āYou canāt demand everything from everyone around you. Everyone else has a life that doesnāt revolve around you. When will you get that into your skull?!ā
āYouāre not a kid anymore, so stop acting like one.ā
Ryder had to be grateful that Charlie trusted him enough to admit to anything like that. Whether he knew how to deal with the situation was a whole other story, though. One hand slipped from Charlieās jaw to the back of his head, fingers curling into blonde strands. The question made him practically deflate, expression softening. āOf course not.ā The idea that he would ever leave his boyfriend seemed rather ridiculous.
Thereās an obvious relief at that answer, though some part of Charlie thinks Ryder should leave. Maybe its because of how sure he is that he deserves punishment for this, doesn't think he deserves something as good as this. There's a moment of hesitation before he's moving forward to wrap his arms around him, burying his head in Ryder's shoulder. When he speaks his voice is quiet, shaky. āI love you.ā
āYeah, really.ā The surprise is clear to Justin and it makes him wonder - why is it so surprising to Charlie that heād do something like that for him? Theyāre friends, very good friends, so why wouldnāt he? āOf course I would.ā
Charlie agrees and thatās a relief because he NEEDS help. Justinās glad that heās made Charlie understand that and that Charlie is willing to get it - he wasnāt as willing the first time meetings were suggested to him so heād been fully prepared to be patient and keep gently insisting,
āThereās a meeting after school, we can go then if you want.ā
Justin makes it sound so obvious, that of course he'd help, of course he'd do something NICE for his friend. And maybe it is obvious. There's no doubt Charlie would do the same for Justin, would do almost anything for his friends. Why is he so surprised by the thought that they'd do the same? Did Monty mess him up that much?
Gentle nod is given. After school feels so soon, so confronting, makes it REAL. But its what he needs. And its not as if he'd be on his own. Justin would be there. It'd be okay. āYeah. Yeah, okay. I-I can do after school.ā
i donāt remember what meme it was from but iām always thinking about how āsay what you will about america, but thirteen dollars can get you a lot of miceā is a big charlie vibe
Ryder knew that they both had their fair share of anger issues. Something that surprised most people when they looked at how sweet they both seemed most of the time. Despite that, he was still shocked to find his boyfriend in anything close to an angry mood. Eyebrows drew together as he tilted his head to stare at Charlie. āWhatās wrong?ā Concern laced through his tone, more than genuine with his worry.
Heās not about to say it all now, not about to divulge secrets now. Head shakes, small scoff coming out. He knows heās not being helpful, that the way heās acting would only cause more problems, but heās in that kind of mood. āNothing. Everythingās great.ā Words drip with thinly veiled sarcasm, really trying to play his mood down but just moody enough that it comes through in his tone anyway.
Despite the fact that he could barely tell what had started the fight? He knew that they both would have fought someone for less. A soft sigh escaped him before he reached up to gently grip Charlieās jaw, turning his head from side to side. He wanted to make sure that his boyfriend was actually alright and did not have too many bruises forming. (It would be hard to explain to Charlieās dad that his son had got beaten up simply because he was feeling extra protective). āI donāt think it was an actual threat-ā The grip weakened, eyes glancing up to catch Charlieās gaze. āAre you okay?ā
Heāll let Ryder turn his head, lets him do whatever makes him feel better. After all, in Charlieās eyes Ryder is the priority here. āA threats a threat.ā It felt real, but even if it wasnāt Charlie was in that state of mind, always waiting for the next bad thing. āHeard enough threats that it doesnāt matter how big it is.ā Which, really, isnāt a comforting thing to say. Shows that heās been threatened plenty of times, something heās generally not too open about. āIām fine.ā
āYeah, thatās exactly what I did.ā Dancing around his feelings, not taking a chance, itās something Tony had considered but in the end - making the move, it had been worth it. Heās not shy but heās not invincible, even he fears rejection, but you never know unless you try. āLook, no one can force you to take the risk but if you like him as much as you say you do - go for it.ā
Tonyās right and he knows it. Thereās no way out of this thatāll make Charlie happy other than knowing for sure, and thereās no way to know for sure unless he speaks up. Sure, it could be catastrophic, could ruin things, but it could make things so much easier. āYou make it sound easy.ā
He could not help but laugh at the sight of his boyfriend rushing to take the jacket off. āEager, huh?ā He teased with a lazy grin as he grabbed the jacket.
āArenāt I always?ā No point in denying it, Ryder knew exactly what he did to Charlie. The boy had never known how to show patience when it came to this.
