You know how like football players get paid millions. I just found out that the Belgian acrobatics team, who recently became third in the WORLD championships, got fifty quid. Fifty quid. I realise that there is much more money involved in football and that its fanbase is much more numerous. I also understand that sports shouldn’t revolve around money and normally I wouldn’t get so worked up about something like this. But fifty quid compared to millions is frankly insulting.

I got my heart broken and I survived, I failed 3 courses in university and graduated, I got rejected in the very first job I applied for and got promoted yesterday, I went through hard times with my family but then two years later, we laughed our hearts out over lunch, The closest friends disappointed me several times but I made new friends and loved them with all my heart. I did it once, I can do it again.

The language of academia can be so fucking pretentious and elitist. You can’t write a critical paper about people that won’t even understand what you’re trying to say. Plus, the need to make something that supposed to educate and facilitate the exchange of ideas, so complex and complicated to understand is ridiculous. If someone, as a scholar cannot break down complex ideologies and theories into a form that the average person can understand then what the fuck are you doing, honestly? Academia is not about a continuous circle-jerk with your PhD buddies. It’s about exchanging ideas and reaching people, from all walks of life and background. The world is bigger than people with JSTOR memberships.
